CONNOR

Today, I was excited to be at work.

I had just returned from signing off the papers for the discharge of one of our oldest patients, so I guess it had contributed to my sudden pump of adrenaline.

But then again, Lola was coming to see me at the office.

I turned the knob of my office door to open, whistling as I tip-toe danced to my seat, my eyes gleaming unusually at the pile of unattended files on my table.

The universe had me at a great call today, unlike yesterday when I had to sit opposite of Eddy and handle the emotional ruggedness that came with our conversations.

I whistled to the melody of Artic Monkeys' 505 arising from the excitement that welled in my heart.

I couldn't wait to see her. It has been a whole week since I left the Langford's mansion.

I knotted my tie again, checked my hair to confirm whether it was still intact and straightened out my perfect shirt again and again.

She didn't give me a time, but she had assured me she'd be here by afternoon.

It was past 1PM, so, naturally, I got more anxious as the seconds rolled by.

I was still staring into space, thinking about the perfect way to maintain my composure with Lola sitting right in front of me when a knock broke against the door, causing me to jolt up suddenly from shock.

Then, Claire, my receptionist, strode in confidently as usual, in her grey suit, with the energy of the owner of the space.

"How can I help you?" I asked, allowing the words to roll off my tongue slowly, my heart beating fast for her answer.

"I'm sorry to bother you sir," she breathed out, "but there's a woman out there. She doesn't have an appointment with you I know of, but she kept insisting that you knew she would visit."

I almost stood up from my seat, but I had grabbed the arm rest to keep me from making an impulsive decision.

I couldn't wait to see Lola, and there was just as little I could do to hide this excitement.

"Let her in," I replied simply, thankful that Claire had turned immediately she got my response, because a smile had stretched quickly across my face.

Claire would have gone endlessly with the questions if she had seen that or probably made unbelievable assumptions.

I was still trying my best to remain calm in my seat when the door swung open and Lola walked in gracefully, with the aura of the only woman that had been able to take over my mind completely without even trying.

She was wearing a green long knee-length gown which she had prolly chosen because she believed it would cover her up nicely, but the curves and fulls were still visible and it made my thoughts go wild.

"I thought we were friends?" she said as soon as she stood in front of me.

"To hell with being friends, Lola. I am in love with you. I know it is wrong, but there's absolutely nothing I can do about it. I don't even want to try."

"Dr. Connor?"

"Yes?" I adjusted in my seat, motioning for her to sit.

"Thank you," she replied immediately, sinking in one of the fine leather visitors' chairs in front of my table, allowing her eyes to get lost in how beautifully the minimalism of my office decor turned out to be for every first time visitor.

"You like that?" I asked, following her gaze.

"I thought we were friends, Connor. I woke up one morning, and I had to go through the stress of figuring out you had left after noticing how you weren't at the dining table for three consecutive times."

"You just had to be convinced that way." I was smiling too hard, my jaw became painful.

"You should have said something," she replied, in a more serious tone.

"You knew the event was for seven days. I had to leave at the end of it," I answered, trying my best to justify my act.

"Only you did though. The others are still very much around."

"Of course. It is Freddy's house, and that is his father and his only sibling, you shouldn't be surprised."

Her expression dropped, and I watched her allow herself to be convinced.

Drawing in a long breath, I smirked.

"I'm sorry. I should have said my final goodbye. I just had to leave as soon as I could. Work and all. I hope you understand."

She nodded absentmindedly, her gaze returning to somewhere behind me. I could guess she was looking at the award sets locked behind the glass shelf.

Ceasing that opportunity, my eyes feasted helplessly on the fullness of her br*asts.

They looked like they had been starved of attention for a very long time — pumped and secured fast behind the material of her dress.

I swallowed, a warm sensation running down my spine.

"Have you been good?"

I had to start another conversation so I don't give in to the desires of my mind.

"Hmmm?"

She exclaimed softly, her gaze finding their way back to mine. It felt like electricity — jarring!

I adjusted in my seat, locking my fingers tight on the table, and trying my best to ignore the growing sensation against the shaft of my p*nis.

"How have you been?"

"Oh! Great. I mean, not to sound courteous, but I've been doing better than before."

She paused, her eyes searching mine like she expected me to say something at that moment.

I widened my eyes in response to her strange stare, and that was only when she resumed talking.

"I want to ask if you said anything to him, but I don't think I care about that. I'm just happy that I am in a better space," she concluded, her words creating a loop in my chest.

"Of course. You don't have to bother about why it came to that. Just take care of yourself," I replied, my words not fully grasping my thoughts on what she had just said.

I wanted Eddy to treat her well, but I didn't want her to feel the need to cut me off because of that.

That was some selfish and irresponsible thought, but I couldn't help it.

Even with her sitting right in front of me for the first time in days, I couldn't bring myself to keep my hands off.

Giving in to my free will, I stood up. Adjusting my shirt, I walked slowly, over to where she sat, and took a comfortable position against the table in front of her, my knee propping right in her face.

Sliding my fingers through the neckline of her dress, I dug down further until the warmth of the skin of her right bre*st greeted me.

She jerked, causing me to hold the other part of her shoulders down.

"Breathe in," I commanded, and she obeyed at once.

She was enormous down there and it made my brain spin.

I was going to lose it, but I didn't give up. Digging in further, I searched for her n*pple, just for the satisfaction of knowing how rock hard it had become — the tears in her eyes were a confirmation to my suspicion.

It wasn't easy though, because of the tightness of her bra.

My knuckle had bumped into something, but a knock broke against the door before I was even able to take in the result of my effort.

Quickly, Lola pushed my hand away, adjusting the neckline of her dress while I stood up to face the door.

I was just about to ask who, when the bolt turned and the door swung open with a certain force.

I had taken his words with a pinch of salt, but it started to play out right in front of me."I can't believe it, Connor," I screamed into the receiver, quivering as I recalled that I was still within Eddy Langford's property, and he could be listening on my call."Did something happen to you? Calm down, okay?"He sounded tired, like he had just woken up or had been buried in work for a long time."Where are you?" I asked, unable to hide the excitement that laced my voice."I decided to go home today. How did you know?""I don't know a

CONNORIt was one of those evenings after a hectic work day.I wasn't supposed to do the night shift today, but I didn't want to go home, and stay the night alone.I thought I was doing fine just being by myself, as a bachelor, and would always look forward to going home from the hospital, but since after I returned from the Langford's in-house event, my own house had felt ridiculously empty to stay in.I didn't want to think about the reason being Lola, but still, sometimes, I knew very much to tell myself the truth. The telephone rang suddenly, the sharp continuous dingle breaking through my chain of thoughts and reminding me that being at the hospital through the night meant more work despite how much I had already done during the day.I didn't want to answer the call, but by a reflex stemmed from an intensive familiarity, my fingers naturally pushed the answer button and guided the receiver to my ears.I shut my eyes painfully and listened."Doctor Connor?""Hello?""Speak," I com

LOLA"What if Eddy walked in on us?"I had asked, trying my best to keep a light expression and not give off the fact that I was actually worried about it, and I wouldn't know what to do if my worries suddenly became reality. My emotions built up rapidly, somewhere between shameless satisfaction and a fear that stiffened my ears."I don't think he will. Right?" he replied, like he too was not even sure.Slowly, the energy dampened into a harsh reminder slammed into our faces — I was still Eddison Langford's wife, and Connor was still his best friend."I think we should...""Maybe we should..."We spoke at the same time.I swallowed, nodding my head at him to continue, but he shook his head, and the ring of sweat initially trapped in his brows escaped, dropping cold on the swell of my left bre*st.I flinched hard, but his eyes had moved from my face.He was staring down hard at the bare of my chest, like he had seen something else I couldn't see."F*ck!"
