LOLA

The air was thick with something I knew wouldn't be in my favor.

I found myself swallowing after every couple of minutes in an effort to fill the void that had taken over my stomach.

Eye bags hung heavy against my face. I had not gotten any sleep the night before.

For the most part of it, I had dug myself sore and painful, in a desperate effort to flatten out my p*ssy which was swollen from need — Freddy, my father-in-law, and my husband's best friend.

I had squirted dirty on the bathroom floor, against the walls and on the bedsheets. A very rough night that was much needed for my sanity.

I had managed to get my mind to want to sleep, but for more than an hour, I was restless even with my eyes shut.

Standing now beside the opened window — I had intentionally moved to that spot. My chest was pounding uncontrollably and I needed the assurance that the space was not going to close in on me, that the city stretched beyond the cage of a room as a wife in Eddy Langford's mansion — Eddy in front of me, staring suspiciously into my face like he was trying to read the thoughts I was fighting desperately to hide.

I exhaled heavily, hoping it would kick out those thoughts that were beginning to cloud my mind again.

I was anxious to my toes, but I tried as much as possible not to show it. Hence, Eddy would be winning again, like he did most of the time.

With his eyes still pinned to my face, Eddy let out an exasperated gasp, more like a punch to my guts.

My entire body trembled when he carelessly threw the large brown envelope he was holding to the space on the bed closest to where I stood — a confirmation that its contents had everything to do with me.

"You have quite a number of people watching out for you," Eddy said, pressing out the perfect lapel of the fine suit wrapped around his figure like a clad of authority that I wouldn't dare to disobey.

A knot tightened in my stomach, and my eyes wouldn't stop staring at the envelope laying on the bed like a ticking bomb waiting to explode.

"I don't understand," I stuttered, barely holding up my weight to the train of thoughts that formed endlessly in my head.

Was Eddy going to finally get me divorced?

Was it a lawsuit with unbelievable charges against Connor?

He might be his best friend, but he had definitely crossed the line by calling him out like that in front of his father.

"Of course. You're always too full to understand the simplest of things," his voice cracked through the seeming quietness of the room, angry, impatient, but ready to unleash whatever he had secured between the edges of the brown pack.

"Eddy, please!" The words filtered desperately through my throat.

He glared murderously at me, obviously irritated that I was still standing whole before him. It sent hard chills down my spine.

"Why? I am supposed to be apologizing to you for not being the best husband."

He said with so much emotion that a third party would think he was about to do just that.

But of course, he wasn't done with that sentence.

"...that is exactly what Connor wants me to do."

His voice thinned towards the last words like speaking them stung his tongue.

"Eddy...," I made to speak, but his voice quickly towered over mine, subduing me to total quietness.

"So, in response to the call-out, you'd be flying to Turkey," his eyes widened with what seemed like an excitement, but I knew better — Eddy excited for me was totally questionable.

My lips trembled, my mind working fast to unravel the truth beneath his words.

"Turkey?" I repeated, hoping he'd elaborate.

"Yes. Go on. You can check the details of the document," he said, pointing me to the brown envelope that was still flattened out on the bed.

My heart thumped with an intensity that seemed very likely to crack my chest open.

I moved — slow, hopeful steps, silently praying that this wouldn't wreck me more than I already am.

With shaky fingers, Eddy's low mocking laughter behind me rumbling in my ears, I tore the envelope open to retrieve a long white paper.

Holding my breath, my lips moved with my eyes as I read carefully through its contents — a chill settled in my stomach and my skin tingled from the thought of it alone.

For a moment, it seemed like time stopped, and I wondered if this was truly the best way he could think of to get rid of me.

Tears jabbed at my eye lids. I tried to force it still like I'd always do, but my heart was already bleeding, and my body wouldn't stop shaking.

My vision blurred, a heaviness settling against my eyes, then the tears ran down — hot, unhindered, not really expressing how broken I was at the moment.

With the paper still hanging between my fingers, I looked up at Eddy whose expression was the most neutral I had ever seen.

"Eddy...You don't mean this, do you?" I stuttered between silent sobs.

"Oh, come on, Lola. I mean every bit of it," he responded excitedly.

"I know you don't believe it, but here you go," he pointed at the paper in my hand.

"Go look hot. Go look normal. At least, so a simple pole dance wouldn't be the reason your minions decide to stand up against me."

The tears kept running down my face, hot balls of confusion and helplessness.

"Eddy, but..."

"No. You're fine. Don't worry. You will thank me later," he nodded to me as though I was supposed to believe flying to Turkey to get under a knife for weight loss surgery was something I was supposed to be over the roof about.

My mind went blank. My brain worked for what I could say to him to make him change his mind, but I knew changing Eddison Langford's mind about what he already decided on was like barking up the wrong tree.

Fear gripped me as I opened my mouth to talk again, my gaze unsettling as they subconsciously flickered from one corner to another.

"Please, I don't want to do it. I am scared, Eddy. I will do any other thing — take my diet seriously, you can even cut that in half. I will run meters everyday, any other thing, but going under a knife."

I just rambled on hopefully, my words clashing against themselves and against my breathing as I spoke.

I watched Eddy's expression fall slowly into dark disinterestedness.

"Your visa is ready. The appointment with the doctors, booked and confirmed. You leave by 3PM.”

CONNORShe wasn't in the kitchen. I was dumb for even looking there.Lola doesn't really have a business in the kitchen, because Eddy had placed her on a ridiculous diet and who knows? Maybe he monitors her movement in the house too, especially when it has to do with the kitchen. But she was not in her room either, which was the most surprising.Or maybe, I am the creepy one.I was slowly walking down the hallway, back to my room from Lola's, when I suddenly stopped in my tracks, my eyes glancing hopefully at the leather wrist watch strapped to my wrist.11:57 AM.I sighed, rubbing anxiously against my forehead, the heat that had my whole body yearning helplessly for my best friend's wife doubling intensively."F*ck!" I yelled in a low cry, stomping angrily on the hard tiles of the floor, the shadows of the low lights surrounding me like they were daring me to make something happen tonight.I was still in the confusion of my thoughts when I heard footsteps approaching faintly from a

I knew that Freddy might never look back and it was my fault. Totally. "Freddy!" I pushed hard on the door, turning the knob several times in my frustration."Why don't you want to hear me out?" I landed another frustrated blow against the door."I regret it. I regret everything I had done with everything that is me,Freddy."I sniffled, waiting to hear a response. But as expected, none came.I wanted to scream some more. I wished there was a button I could push to put my life on pause and quietly crawl out of my skin.Deeply, terribly, I regretted everything that had happened so far

  • SCORNED BY HIM, DESIRED BY THE THREE   A MOMENT FOR EVERYTHING I HID FROM YOU

LOLAThe whole time Connor bantered with Eddy, I kept my eyes fixed on Eddy and my mind rapidly processed his expression, weighing how much peace I get to enjoy going forward. When Connor called him out on what happened, I saw the color disappear from Eddy's face and I knew exactly the only thing that could mean — I was in trouble.I couldn't sit back and watch Greg lash out on Eddy. I knew he wouldn't want me to for the life of him. Moreover, I was visibly shaking, and that could send the wrong message to my father in-law. The last thing I wanted was to be dragged into this conversation at the moment, with Eddy sitting right there."Excuse me, please," I muttered. Without waiting for a response, I stood up, but I was too tense. My body jammed against the edge of the table, pushing my glass over. My eyes locked in the moment as I watched the water trail slowly, like it already mastered its path on the smooth of the table top, towards Eddy.I wasn't sure how Mrs. Adama instincts wor

  • SCORNED BY HIM, DESIRED BY THE THREE   BROKE OUT

CONNORBack at Eddy Langford mansion, my contempt perfectly balled into shameless desire and maybe, nonchalant recklessness with no intention of holding back anymore, I spent the entire day in my room sleeping.By the time I woke up, it was already evening.I had slept for so long, but waking up, I felt as light as a feather, just as expected. My muscles were revitalized, my joints sturdy and my thoughts renewed with new ideas. To me, it wasn't just a long stretch sleep session to shed tiredness, it was a mark of a new beginning. The room looked emptier, like something I couldn't figure out yet had been pulled from it.The shadows from the curtains of the city lights dancing against the walls cast a certain heaviness to my eyes.Slowly, I let my eyes draw close, breathing in as hard as could from my lungs and letting it all out in a long gentle exhale. My nose caught the whiff of a scent that I was sure wasn't mine.It scented feminine. It scented like Lola.Letting my shoulders fall

  • SCORNED BY HIM, DESIRED BY THE THREE   ONE NIGHT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

CONNORPulling out of the parking lot, I drove straight ahead to THE THAIFARES, my go-to place for good s*x and a professional massage, away from the chaos of the industry and reality checks.I had a booking saved about a month ago, but I couldn't use it, because I suddenly got called in at the hospital. Now, above all reasonable doubts, was a good time.Aside from the fact that it was run by foreigners and they don't get a lot of American customers because of the language barrier, therefore deeming it safe for my reputation which I was going to protect at all cost, I wanted a good one.My waist was stiff and my groin hot against my pants. I needed to release, preferably into Lola, which was totally impossible at the time.Even if she was down, I wasn't going to give away how wild I could get in bed on our first hook-up. Not with the way I was feeling at the moment. After a thirty minute fast drive, I pulled my camouflage mask over my face as I pulled into the palace of disasters. The
