chapter 23

SELIORA POV

After my run-in earlier with Claire, I headed back into my room.

Surprisingly, hot water was now available in the bathroom. I took a long warm shower and ate breakfast brought into my room by the maids.

I couldn't collapse like that again, I needed all the strength I could get.

After I finished eating, I lay down on the bed and took a little nap.

“The Alpha demands you come down to the living room in a few minutes,” I heard a voice say, followed by loud bangs on the door.

“I can't even get enough sleep?” I muttered in frustration, standing up from the bed.

With sleepy eyes, I slowly changed into black shorts with a cream shirt before walking out of the room.

Kaelion had a straight face on as I walked into the living room which made me worried.

“What is up with him this time?” I thought to myself.

Whenever he had this face on, it meant things were about to be bad.

“You asked for me,” I said, stopping a few steps from where he was seated.

“Yes I did,” He replied, staring at me blankly while I noticed some of the pack maids behind me with bags.

“Take the bags to the room right in front of the guards' quarters,” Kaeliom instructed the maids while I looked on anxiously.

“You were in my office, Seliora,” He said, as soon the the maids walked away. “You broke into my office.”

At first, I wanted to deny it but there was no point, I had already been caught. There was nothing I could do.

“I did nothing you have not done, you also went into my father's office, checked through it, and kidnapped my brother,” I stated, with a straight face.

Deep down, I wondered how he knew I was inside the office.

My mind went to Claire at first but I was sure there was no way she saw me, I was too careful. My second guess was the window.

“I must not have closed it well,” I thought.

“We were beginning to reach an agreement, Seliora but you had the guts to break into my office,” He barked, standing up. “I want you to give me back everything you took and maybe, just maybe I will decide not to punish you.”

Realising that Kaelion only knew I was in there but had no idea I used his phone, I felt relieved.

“I only wanted to check the information you had on my father, nothing more,” I uttered.

“Rule number three, Seliora. Do not dare lie to me!” He yelled, grabbing my neck with force.

“I am not lying to you,” I muttered, while struggling to breathe. “You can search my room, I took nothing.”

Kaelion intensified his grip around my neck while my heart raced.

“I took nothing,” I screamed.

“I hope you are telling the truth, Seliora,” He whispered, finally letting go while I tried to catch my breath.

“You are no longer allowed to come into the house or even move closer to this building. The maids will show you to your new room,” He muttered, walking away.

I held my neck with my left hand while my heart raced. Seeing him this way made me hate him more than I already did.

“Come with us,” One of the maids spoke from behind me.

Still panting, I took one last look at the living room and walked out of the house.

The room I was to be staying in was right in front of the guards' quarters. It was an old, small room that had a small window and a bed inside it.

After I entered, I locked the door and broke down in tears. I had managed to keep it together for so many days but I just could not anymore.

Every one of my efforts to get out of here had all fallen back in my face.

“Why do I have to be tested so much, moon goddess,” I mumbled, still weeping.

After about five minutes, I managed to stop crying and came to a decision. I was going to stop trying to try out of Kaelion’s house.

The only thing I was going to focus on now was getting revenge on him.

“I will burn him, Claire, and the house all down,” I stated, wiping the tears off my face.

I also knew I needed to change my strategy now, I needed someone who was in the pack, who could give me the information I needed to take him down.

Taking a deep breath, I walked out of the room. My eyes scanned around the area when I noticed some of the maids decorating the buildings in the pack house.

This sparked my curiosity.

I quietly made my way towards them while looking around to make sure Kaelion was not spying on me.

“Is there going to be a party?” I asked, in a low tone.

“Yes, the pack regale,” One of the maids answered, grinning. “It's a celebration in the obsidian pack every year, every one of the pack members will be present.”

“Ohh,” I muttered. “When is it?”

“The day after tomorrow,” Another of the maids answered.

“Thank you,” I said, walking away from them.

I was angry to know Kaelion was planning another party for his pack members after destroying mine.

As I walked back to the room, I decided I was going to humiliate him so much at the party for all he had done to me.

I would make him regret that he ever brought me to his pack house.

“But how?” I thought to myself.

I have been sent away from the pack house and would not be able to enter the party. Even if I did, some of the guards might sight me easily because of the way I would be dressed and send me out.

“I heard he threw you out of the house, I had to come see for myself,” I heard Claire say from behind me, sparking an idea in my head.

“You are so going to wish you had killed me, Kaelion,” I thought to myself, turning around.
