Ava.
I couldn't get what Ryker told me off my mind neither could I sleep. Every time I tried I kept seeing images of that hole and Ryker pointing, telling me I had somehow crawled out of there.
It was impossible to think I had done so, I had seen the depth of that hole and it shocked me to think I had actually dug myself out of there. How had I even gotten into a grave in the first place?
I could remember nothing of what must have made me to end up in a hole as deep as that. I sighed, rubbing at my face as I looked around me in the dimly lit room the only light coming from the night lamp close to me.
The dreams were intensifying, the occasional flash of memories, faces and thoughts I couldn't remember was becoming worse. I glanced at the clock on the wall ahead of me.
Three a.m.
I let out a tired breath. I wasn’t getting enough sleep because of
Ryker.I sat in my chair watching the meeting proceedings as it took place i could barely focus on anything that was being said. Occasionally some words filtered into my ear but asides that nothing elseI was completely focused on something else my memory locked unto the kiss from last night.Goddess, this woman, Ava, was doing to him things he thought he grown past; slowly she was starting to get under his skin, plaguing his thoughts like an epidemic of some sort.Yesterday had been one of those days; days when he had been caught in the crossfire between his werewolf and vampire side. He had spent half an hour battling them both as they fought inside him like vicious animals. The fits came and went occasionally but none of them had been as violent as the one of yesterday had been. It angered me to know that even after so many years I hadn't fully gotten a grip on the va
RykerThe shrill burr sound of my phone on top of the nightstand close to my bed and the vibration of the wood dragged me from sleep.I groaned, stretching my arms as I tried to reach for the phone, my fingertips knocking against the wood before they settled on the phone.I grabbed it and pressed the receiver, putting the phone to my ears."There better be a godamn good reason why you decided to call me by three am on a Saturday night. You know I sleep in late and I don't need disturbance" I growled into the phone."It's bad actually. They are here again.""Spill, who is here?""The vampires but this time there seems to be a little bit of a problem.""Again spill" I snapped. Clearly the irritation of being woken up from my beauty sleep hadn't worn off me yet."I can sm
Ava Fuck. I dabbed at the blood that was seeping from my neck in slow and steady trickles wondering my Hy my healing powers hadn't kicked in yet. Surprisingly I didn't even know where the cut had come from. One minute ineqs fine and the next minute when I touched my neck I could feel a warm sensations fille my hands after I had taken it away from my neck. The most peculiar part about the whole thing was that it wasn't healing. Our kind had no problem with healing, so I couldn't understand why mine wasn't taking effect. I took another cotton wool in my failed attempt to control the flow of blood and dabbed at my neck. Releasing another frustrated sigh I tossed the blooded wool into the trash and folded my arms in my laps. The dreams hadn't come today and even thought I knew I should he happy they hadn't plagued me today I was still suspicious. I was a strong believer of the saying the calm before a storm do I was still wary why the dream hadn't come. The names were still in my he
RykerBefore Ava stepped into my office today I had already chastised myself from doing anything funny. I knew that both of us together in a closed space with locked doors always ended up with both of us longing for each other but today I was going to try and keep myself under check. After the K9 incident yesterday I had been on high alert. It couldn't be that she was back, the more I tried to tell myself that it was our the more I knew deep down that the scentiI had gotten from the scarf Tao showed me was proof that she had really been there. After all these years why was she back, what did she need, ehathavic could she possibly trying to cause this time.I slowly exhaled and rubbed the back of my neck. Thinking about her always left me feeling angry and irritated; she was a past I wanted to keep buried and I didn't want anything to do with unearthing this past.
The figure walked past a set of stone gargoyles before turning down a cobbled pathway, her feet light on the ground, the hooded black cloak she wore trailing behind her as the wind caressed it. She was quick, and agile making sure she stuck to the side of her surroundings. She was here on a mission and she was going to make sure she accomplished it without being caught. For so long her kind had been watching from the shadows as the creatures who claimed they had the upper hand when it came to the supernatural affairs bragged off. But no more would they hide in the shadows, no more would they stand watch, while there kind was insulted, ridiculed, killed mercilessly. This time around they were going to take a bold step forward. It was time for a change; it was time to fight back. The woman moved quickly, stepping away from the shadowy protection that the wall offered and directly into the path ahead of her as she ran toward the large building that loomed up ahead. Looking up towards the
Ava I realised Cade was a good dancer and I was a horrible one as soon as we started dascing to the music a few seconds after we took to the center of the hall. Strangely I didn't have any qualms with him placing his hands on my body ;his right hand on my waist, his left interlaced in my left hands.I had suddenly gotten comfortable around him which wasn't normal as our kind didn't always intermingle. Maybe it was because he was Rykers brother or maybe it was because of his calm, calculated manner.Either way I knew that staying around him wasn't a bad thing. Not only that but there was something about Cade's eyes that seemed to hold me in place. Cade gutted me expertly, his moves as graceful as that of a Swan for once not even stepoing in me.I looked behind his shoulder in the direction I had seen Ryker last time but i couldn't spit him again. The crowd of dancing pekoe had seemed to have somehow coveted him completely.Cade spun me around before I returned back to my normal positi
Ryker I woke up with a groan and looked around the room where my parents shared with me and my brother Cade. I was still sleepy as my eyes were still getting accustomed to my surroundings. I was a very light sleeper and any sound was capable of waking me up and at that moment I knew something was wrong. My father was standing close to the door and his eyes were glowing amber. My mother was bent over Cade shaking him awake as he tossed and turned on the little bed he was sleeping on refusing to wake. Something was wrong and I could feel a strange feeling of dread wash over me as I sat up straighter on my own bed, the vestiges of sleep leaving my eyes. "Mom what's wrong" I asked but as always she ignored me, her gaze fixed on Cade who was now rubbing his eyes as he forced himself to stay awake. "Loci," my father hissed from the doorway where he was peering out from the little crack he had made by opening the door slightly. I was up on my feet in a second grabbing my clothes, putti
AvaI was aware of the slow methodical feeling of opening my eyes to the darkness that surrounded me. I looked to sleep with the light on my room turned off so I knew I was still in a familiar environment. The dreams hadn't woken me up this time. It was something different and as I lay on my bed trying to gather my thoughts I was aware of a strange feeling. It felt like I was being watched. I scanned my room in the darkness which wasn't a barrier as I could still see thanks to my heightened sense of sight with or without light. There was no one in the room yet the feeling lingered, persisting till it made the hairs at the back of my neck rise. I fixed my eyes to the door, keeping them there as I anticipated someone coming in anytime.I stayed like that for a minute, eyes fixed to the door, the only sound in the room, my slow steady breathing and tye beating of my heart. The door didn't open to reveal some intruder and I took my eyes away from it and dragged myself up from the bed.I c
