“Kevin, although I’ve told you before, you’ve really outdone yourself now. I didn’t think you were that good with women. I underestimated you, I have to admit,” Luke said.

“You didn’t have to deal with me to know me, Luke. We haven’t had a chance to talk yet,” I replied immediately.

“We haven’t had a drink together either, come to think of it. We’ve always done business from a distance. I’m glad you saw me now,” he said.

“Now it’s about something much bigger and more important. A deal of this magnitude called for a meeting as it is done in our world,” I replied.

“Our world! That sounds too pompous. Who knows what the lady here imagines,” he said.

His eyes sparkled as he looked at her, and mine were red with anger.

“Carla! Please call me Carla. You are very noble, and I thank you,” she said elegantly.

“You should thank me for finding you such a young and rich boyfriend,” I said wickedly.

Her eyes immediately darted to me. She gave me an angry, yet puzzled look at the same time.
