Chapter eighty-two

She was half way towards the roof top, when the men started firing gunshots at us.

The baby I had on my back began crying, and Lolita out of fear, nearly let go off the rope.

But I caught her before she could, and help pulled her up.

She stared up at me, with so much admiration in her eyes. Like I was her saviour. My breath got caught up in my throat at this. She never looked at me this way, even when we were together.

There was this new found feeling of respect that radiated out from her.

I couldn't believe all of this was happening. That I saw Lolita today, and now I was trying to save her and her baby.

Was this fate, throwing us together again?

It better not be.
