Ethan's POV~>

I remained where I stood stock-still, didn't budge, just remained rooted to the spot, my eyes still fixed on Jasmine who was unaware of my presence. She paced around, her steps light and relaxed. Her voice was low and filled with caution as she continued giving instructions to whoever it was she was talking to. My ears listened intently and I noticed her frequent glances at the window. She moved closer, standing firm on her toes as she stretched forward to get a better view

I crossed my arms, my face filled with curiosity. I didn't dare move or say a word for fear of giving away my presence.

Jasmine's fingers trailed every surface but her eyes were still fixed on the window. It was as if she was keeping an eye on or waiting for someone because her gaze wasn't just on the window, it was on the gate outside.

What if she was keeping an eye on the gate so she would know when I'd return? Or was she expecting someone?

Third POV ~After a prolonged silence, Dylan wiped his forehead with the back of his palm. His brows furrowed, face twisted in confusion as he asked, “Did you see anyone before coming?”“Yes, I saw someone, a lady. But –” I paused, collecting my breath. Dylan's eyes narrowed and his voice came out too quickly, a little too sharply as he asked, “What are you talking about, Scarlett. I think you're just overthinking things because no one came here.”The tension in Dylan's shoulders and the stiffness in his posture give away his unease despite his attempts to remain calm. “No. I'm not overthinking things, Dylan. I'm sure I saw a lady while coming here. Maybe—” Scarlett’s glances around, her words hanging in the air, making Dylan even more uncomfortable. The casual smile he wore began to feel like a mask, straining to stay in place as her words dripped with conviction. He knew Scarlett was starting to get suspicious.Dylan was tense but he tried to remain calm, hoping Scarlett wouldn'

Third POV ~After a lengthy conversation with the cops, Scarlett finally returned to the hospital. Her face twisted in frustration as she stepped into the elevator. The doors slid shut and a thick silence enveloped her. Furious, she pressed the button for her floor, hoping to see Dylan so she could explain everything to him. She wasn't happy with how the case was being handled, feeling like the investigation was dragging on with no real leads, and she couldn't shake the feeling that Jasmine was somehow involved, despite her supposed alibi. Scarlett crossed her arms and watched as the elevator lurched into motion. After some minutes, the door opened, revealing the last floor to her VIP ward. She breathed in relief, momentarily escaping the chaos inside. As she stepped outside, the cool evening air enveloped her, easing the tension in her mind. Scarlett’s heels clicked against the polished floor as she walked over to the designated section for her ward. As she dipped her hand into her

Scarlett’s POV ~Scarlett felt reinvigorated after the night's rest. Her eyes fluttered open as she woke up. She spread her arms, and let out a satisfied sigh, arching her back in a languid stretch. The sun rays streamed through the large window, casting a warm glow over the space, making it feel even brighter and welcoming. The Colorful and fluorescent lights accentuated the high-end furnishings and finishes that are typical of VIP wards. Scarlett felt a sense of comfort, warmth and serenity as her gaze drifted towards the bunk beds on the large bed on the other side of the room. Her twin's bed. Neither of them were on the bed and she believed they might be in the living room, watching their favourite animation. Tears prickled her as several emotions overwhelmed her. She had always imagined her twins reuniting and she couldn't believe this was really happening. They're great friends and she was certain they'd be happier after discovering they'd been siblings all along. Scarlett was

Ethan's POV~>My car came to a gentle halt as I parked it at our dimly lit garage. The soft hum of the engine faded into the silence. After withdrawing the key from the ignition, I alighted and stepped out into the cool evening air. I inhaled sharply as I took slow strides towards the door, feeling the weight of the day slowly lifting off my shoulder. My steps were light as I stepped onto the porch. Standing firmly in front of the door, I looked up, my jaw tightening as I swallowed hard. I raised my hand slightly and pressed the doorbell and a soft chime echoed within the house. I waited for a while, hoping Jasmine would answer but she didn't.I narrowed my eyes in suspicion. Wasn't she at home? Didn't she return home when she left the hospital a while ago?Clenching my fists, I reached for my phone and went through my contact log. I hovered my thumb over the screen, ready to swipe left with a gentle slide when the door opened. I looked up at our oldest maid, Maria. She bowed politel

Ethan's POV~My grip on the steering wheel tightened involuntarily as my car hit a pothole, jolting me back to reality. I inhaled sharply as I relaxed my shoulders, trying to shake off the tension that had been building all day. Even when my eyes were on the road as I drove, I'd been distracted and my mind kept wandering back to the conversation I had with the woman this morning. Suddenly, a loud horn blared from behind, piercing the silence and snapping me back to attention. I swallowed hard, my knuckles turning white as I clutched the wheel tightly. After checking the rearview mirror, I returned my attention back to the rearview mirror. Driving away from the pothole, I glanced at my wristwatch just to check the time. It was almost seven and the sun had dipped below the horizon.I sighed as I stamped on the gas pedal and accelerated. My brows furrowed slightly as I looked ahead, overtaking the rest of the cars beside me. It's been an hour since jasmine left the hospital before me. I
