[ Colton ]
"Mr. Black, here is the file of all the possible information that I found about Miss Parker and her life in the last five years including her son." My personal assistant, Harry placed a folder on my desk.
"Thanks, Harry, you may take your leave now and ensure that Mrs. Black won't find out about it, do you get it?" I warn him through my cold eyes though I know, he wouldn't dare to defy me.
"Don't worry, Sir. It will remain between you and I." He nodded his head positively before taking his exit from my office.
I stared at the closed folder which may change everything for good or for worse.
After meeting the little boy, Chase and his striking resemblance with me, I couldn't stay quite nor my heart found any peace.Something had been triggering me to dig deeper in the excellently clean life of Evangeline and here's my answer waiting for me to find out whether she lied to me about the baby or I was never the father of him.
The latter sounded disturbing to me as I felt immediate connection with Chase and his last name, it wasn't a mere coincidence.
With crazily beating heart, I open the file and begin to read it. The initial pages contained Evangeline's early years when she persuaded her Master's degree through online courses and her part time job at a restaurant.
I balled my fist as guilt overpowered my senses. I made her struggle to earn bread and butter by working tirelessly and serving the rich customers. She used to be treated royally by waiters.
I reversed everything for her who also belonged to a rich family but not as wealthy as mine.
After post graduating, she started working for a small firm for almost an year before joining Dominic's company. The name soured my mood. Why did he always there for her instead of me?
It also has her current address in the suburbs of the city. I feel relived, at least she is earning a better living now which provides her enough to maintain a decent life.
I flipped the page and automatically a smile curved on my lips as it had the picture of Chase. Damm! He's Evangeline's son and she bluntly lied about him and even went to the extent of giving excuse of a miscarriage.
How could she?
I took a deep breath and cast my eyes on the information about Chase.
Name: Chase Alexander Parker.
She gave him my grandfather's name as his middle name.
Birth: 27/08/2018 at St. Maria's Hospital.
She gave birth in a missionary hospital which provides free medical aid for poors and homeless. It stung my heart. Mia was born in the best hospital of the country under the best medical staff. Evanca had a private ward where no one other than assigned nurses and doctors could go.
Parents: Evangeline Freya Parker (single mother)
DNA report: both samples matched 99.9%
I balled my fists as anger surged through my veins. She had my child hidden from me all these years. She could had claimed her rights, asked for dna results but she decided to grow him up on her own.
Chase is my son!
He is my heir!
A warm feeling filled my heart. I had another child far from me who doesn't even know about me but whom should I blame? I refused to accept him when Evangeline told me about her being pregnant, in fact, I used to believe that it was Dominic's since Evanca and my Dad showed me pictures of them in a very intimate position and three weeks later, she came to me with her pregnancy news.
How could I believe her.
"Fuck!" I cursed under my breath and rubbed my forehead to ease the pain.
I felt confused and conflicted. There's a continuous clash between my logical mind and emotional heart. A part of me wanted to believe that Evangeline was innocent but a large part reassessed the past events which led to her being the snake who ruined my life, trapped her parents to marry her to me in Evanca's place despite knowing the fact that I loved Evanca. Her innocence was a facade mask to hide her malicious intentions.
The report had her personal phone number.
She had played this game for years, now it's my term. I will play it on my own rules and terms and she must oblige to me because I won't give up until I win my son, my heir.
I grabbed my phone to confront her but I stopped thinking of a brilliant idea. I need to put my plan into action step by step and it begins from tomorrow.
"No, she needs to feel the fear, Colton. She hid your son from you. Give her the taste of her own medicine." My brain yelled.
"She had her valid reasons, Colton. Don't do this stupidity and talk to her calmly." My heart said in a whisper.
I was again torn apart.
After contemplating for some time, I finally decided to warn her. If she's really upto something, then she'd make hasty decisions which eventually bring out her true colors.
I opened my text and typed my message.
"I know your secret now, Evangeline."
I pressed the sent button and leaned back on my chair. She must have received my warning.
I couldn't wait for the next day because I was going to meet my son as his father. Another smile broke on my lips as I recalled our moments. He already crept his way to my heart. His smartness reflects his genes that he inherited from me.
Luckily, Evanca is out of the town for a new photoshoot for 'Dior' and it will give me time to figure out something permanent and safe for Chase.
I can't let anyone harm my son even if it's my wife, Evanca.
Next day.
I ordered Harry to reschedule my meetings after the lunch time so I could leave early at the time of recess so I might see Chase. It would be a child's play for me to ask the Principal to let me meet my son but I don't want any scandal which involves my little boy or Mia.
I stood in front of the school gate, waiting for the kids to walk out, my eyes were glued on the exit. After the wait of ages, the moment finally came when a swarm of kids bursted through the gates. I wasn't worried for Mia as my bodyguards were already inside the school to pick her through the back door exit. I felt bad for ditching my daughter for the first time since she was born but I had to do it for both my children's sake.
I didn't want my daughter to find out about her brother like this. She had been the most pampered child in the family and dropping the bomb of a sibling might sprout seeds of insecurity in innocent mind.
"Batman?"
I heard my son's excited voice and it made me turn to look at him who was standing at a distance with surprised look on his chubby face.
"Hey, buddy." I waved at him and next, he flung into my arms.
A strange emotion invaded my heart as I felt my own flesh and blood close to me. Without caring for the curious eyes, I hugged him back, relishing the warmth of my child.
"What are you doing here?" He asked me.
I broke the hug and held his tiny shoulders,"I was here to meet your Principal Sir, as he's my friend but then I thought to see you too." I partially lied and the boy seemed convinced.
"But I have to go. My bus is waiting for me."He pouted sadly, clearly he liked my company.
"Yeah, I know but we can always meet if you want." I suggested and his eyes lit up immediately.
"Really? But how?" He asked,"My Mommy doesn't let me meet strangers and you are stranger for her." He said, his smile faltered.
She taught good lessons to our son.
"You're right, Chase what if we give your Mommy a visit on Sunday? Then she'll let us spend some time together. You can come to my house anytime. You and my daughter can play together. She has a lot of toys." I didn't know how to talk with a child whom I met for the second time.
"You have a daughter?" He asked.
"Yes and she is in this school, perhaps your classmate." I told him about Mia because he's way mature than my little princess. A trait that the Black genes have. He is smarter than most of the kids of his age, specially his vocabulary. I felt proud of him.
"Really? What's her name?" He blinked his big eyes curiously.
"Her name is Mia, girl with golden hairs and blue eyes." I narrated him Mia's features.
"Ohh Mia Parker in section A. I know her. She comes for our games period." He said.
"But you have to promise me that you won't tell her that I met you. She's a little over-possessive about me." I told him because I knew that he wouldn't break his promise.
"She doesn't talk to me. I mean we are play mates but she mostly play with girls." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Okay, okay, now let's have a boy to boy talk, Chase." I cupped his cheeks,"I want to meet your Mommy and Daddy for their permission to be friends with you. I really like you, little man. We can go out to watch football match together on next Saturday." I said.
His eyes again widended on the mention of football. Well, it was a wild guess for me. Which boy or man doesn't like sports!
"I love to watch football matches but Uncle Dom doesn't have time on weekends and Mommy hates football." His face fell.
My blood boiled on how my son adores that bastard Dominic.
"What about your Daddy. He lives with you, right?" I asked him to know how he feel about having a father figure.
"I don't have a Daddy." He answered in a low voice.
"What happened to him, Chase?" I asked, my heart beating impatiently.
"He doesn't live with me and Mommy. She told me that he is a businessman who lives in a different country."
His reply surprised me even more.
Evangeline didn't lie about me but hid my identity.
Well, I could use it as my leverage.
"Don't worry, your Daddy will be back home very soon and then you can live with him happily." I kissed his forehead and stood up straight to leave.
"You're going?" He blinked his eyes at me.
"Sorry, Chase but I have to go now. We'll meet on the Sunday but it's a surprise for your Mommy, okay?" I high five with him.
"Okay." He waved his hand and ran away with the other kids while I stared at his retreating figure.
My heart yearned to stop him and never him go away.
"It's time to meet you as your baby's Daddy, Evangeline Parker." I smirked imagening my next move.
[ Brandon ]I groaned in annoyance as the sunrays falling on my face forced me to wake up. I hardly got time to rest during week days and the day was the only day when I could get some sleep and spend time with my family.I patted the space beside me to pull Emma closer to me but much to my dismay, the space was cold and empty. She had already woken up."I hate mornings." I sat straight on my bed and ran my fingers through my messy hairs. I winced when I felt pain on my back."Emma Black, you're totally a vixen." I muttered as they were scratches given by her last night.I glanced at the time, it showed seven fifteen in the morning. I didn't intend to wake up this early but I wasn't going to catch sleep again. So, I dragged my body out of the bed and rushed to bathroom to do my mornings business before I search for my lovely wife and my bundle of joy, our son. Who was quite a naughty boy for his two years old age.I felt my muscles relaxing under the luke warm water. After fifteen min
[ Emma ]I had no words to describe how those three seconds felt when the obsessive woman shot the gun and the sound resonated in the air.My ear begun to ring and vision got blurred for a moment."Emma!"Brandon's ear deafening scream followed breaking the silence and I found myself pressed to his chest."You're okay?" He asked checking my face and body for any possible sign of injury."Yes..yess."I somehow whispered and buried my face more on his chest. I could practically count his heartbeats. I was still shaking in the trauma. If I wasn't hurt, Brandon looked fine then who was the victim?"I was scared to death but thank god you're fine, love." He showered my face with kisses."Ahh, you..you son of a bi..bitch ahh." A painful whimper forced us to follow the voice and I felt bile rising in my throat when I saw blood on the floor and a wounded Fiona shooting daggers at us."Thank God, I walked in at the right moment. This bitch has always gotten into my nerves." Mrs. Black's voice e
[ Brandon ]Emma's courageous come back on Fiona left me in complete shock and it resulted in every single fibre in my body to drown in guilt. I indeed took her as damsel in distress unintentionally. I actually never tried to see through her. There was a tigress in a fawn's skin. Emma didn't flinch or intimidated by Fiona, the woman who could bring the universe down just by a single glare of her cunning eyes.Emma faced her with no fear and actually warned her to stay out of our lives. Well, I wanted it to be like this way but I had a feeling that the storm was approaching us.A week had passed since our meeting with Fiona at the restaurant. Our life fell back on normal routine and luckily we got a Sunday together to relax at home."Umm..yeah, just like this." She moaned sweetly, her head dropping back while I moved inside her on a very slow pace. Her pregnancy hormones turned her into a wild vixen, nowadays she wanted sex more than I did and currently we were having sex in the music
[ Emma ]"Emma Black?" The beautiful woman smiled at me like she knew me for years."Do I know you?" I asked her straight. I might had sounded rude but one thing I learnt from Brandon, being too polite or good to others may backfire sometimes."No, you don't." She shook her head slightly, her smile not leaving her plum lips,"But you're the woman who changed Don. He's a complete opposite person than I knew him once. I like this version of him." She talked in riddles."Don? Who is Don?" I frowned and honestly she started getting into my nerves. I wanted to walk away as the earlier encounter with Brandon was taking a toll over me but her magnetic personality caught me there."Oh sorry, I thought he told you-" She started but her rest of the words died down in her throat when we felt the intimidating presence of Brandon. He snaked his arm around my waist and I felt thankul that he came on mean time. She was giving me a creepy vibe."Don, you're here. What a pleasant surprise!" She exclaim
[ Emma ]"This dress is looking pretty on you, Ma'am. Black is your color." Rachel, who was assisting me to get ready for my date and after trying half dozen dresses, she approved the black bodycon dress with a sweetheart neck and quarter sleeve."You sure?" I glanced at her and again checked my reflection in the mirror. The dress fit me perfectly."Yes, Ma'am, this one is perfect for your dinner date. Mr. Black won't be able to take his eyes off you." She said in a teasing way."My husband can't ever keep his hands and eyes off from me, it really doesn't matter what I wear or how I look, Rachel." I said."That's, true. We have never seen him this happy before. You changed him." She replied while doing my hairs."You shouldn't tie your hairs, they look more prettier when you leave them open, Ma'am. She commented."You have a good knowledge of hair and styling. You should had persue your career in that." I said to her.A sad smile appeared on her face,"I thought about it but sometimes o
[ Brandon ]It had been three days since we returned from Seattle. We stayed there for two days as Emma too wanted to visit the famous places of the city. It was a memorable trip. We had a lot of fun and for a brief time, I forgot about Fiona and other problems in my life until the present time.I had to tell her. Although, I hadn't seen Fiona or received any threats from the sender, I had to tell her anyways before she got to know this from a third person."May I come in, Boss?"I tore my eyes from the computer screen to my beautiful wife who had the pregnancy glow on her face. She was leaning on the door."Yes, you may, Mrs. Black." I leaned back on my chair. She walked leisurely towards me. Her red skirt and white blouse. She could kill a man by the red shade of her lipstick. I should ban her from applying it because I was having a boner just by looking at her luscious lips and cute bangs.Yes, Elle forced her for a new haircut and I must admit, it gave her a combination of innocen
