Chapter Seventeen

"Where are you?" I asked her.

"At the club with Amelia, How was your dinner?"

"Not so good; Reagan's mom was the absolute worst."

"Look, I got to go, Alix. Talk to you later. I am so happy for you."

The line went dead. I couldn't believe what was happening. My Best Friend and I have drifted apart. We were both in a new phase of our lives, but I was kind of sad because I missed my confidant.

I decided to soak in the tub instead of the shower because I needed to think some things over. I was just lying there when I felt arms over me. I already knew who it was, I shifted a bit and he slid into the tub, my back on his front. He kissed my back, then started massaging my shoulders, then whispered in my ear,

"What are you thinking?"

I moaned, then leaned into his touch. "A few things. When are you going to tell me that you are going back to New York tomorrow?"

"This afternoon, but you stormed off, and I didn't see you till this evening."
