Chapter 2
“You're dismissed.” Alpha Jayden said
Those words echoed in my head. “What?”
For a second, I couldn't think straight, I couldn't help thinking if I had misunderstood his words but I know I didn't. I perfectly heard those words from him.
I stared straight at him, feeling short of words at the moment until I heard him utter the word dismissed. Like just like that? Everything sounds ridiculous or maybe funny.
Does he mean his words? I shouldn't join the bride selection of Silas Deane. Just the thought of his name sends shivers down my spine.
Alpha Silas Deane is the most ruthless, deadly Alpha. The strongest Alpha of all, a tyrant who had taken down different packs that had a hand in the massacre of his parents and his pack members years back.
There has been a rumor circulating for years that our pack betrayed Alpha Sila's father, which led the enemies to wipe out his pack.
To cut it short, our pack has been walking on eggshells while trying to make sure everything is under control in case of an attack from Alpha Silas. But now, my father just pushed me to my death.
“Alpha, have you forgotten he holds grudges against our pack?” Wait.. Do you want to make my death quick by sending me off to join the bride selection?”
“Besides, why on earth will he choose a bride from the pack that has something to do with the death of his parents and pack members, huh?” I lamented furiously.
“Have you forgotten how he has been wiping off packs that had hands in the death of his pack the moment he rose back and took his father's place. He gathered all their pack members who had been sold into slavery and even some who were thrown to brothels?”
“Who knows if our pack is next. Now you're pushing me to go receive an early death, huh?” I thundered, clenching my fist.
I was sure my father must be wondering how I got to know about all these. But luckily for me, I have a trusted nanny who wouldn't hesitate to tell me every little detail that could benefit me and since I am mostly lonely, I have either read different books on politics or not.
“I have led an extremely boring life that I do not wish someone else would lead such a life.”
“That's an order and you have to follow it!” Beta Ace said, but I shot him a deadly glare instantly.
“Besides, I'm a bastard while Chloe is your noble daughter, father. Who do you think is the rightful person to be sent out for the bride selection? Isn't that Chloe?” I said, folding my arms against my chest.
I noticed Alpha Jayden's expression changed upon the mention of Chloe's name; he seemed anxious, and that only shattered my heart into pieces.
“You're so protective of her – Chloe?” I almost laughed. Almost, but I know I wasn't trying to laugh, I was trying so hard not to burst into a loud cry in front of him.
“But what about me, Father? Who's going to protect me and keep me away from death?” I stuttered as I asked him those questions.
“Enough, Sera! I have made up my mind and you can't refuse my order!” he thundered, banging on the table.
“And what if I refuse your order, Alpha?” I asked not to move an inch from where I stood.
Alpha Jayden chuckled as he leaned forward, it was as if his eyes were telling me I was biting more than I could chew. “Then your Nanny's head will be rolling on the ground, Good, huh?”
The air in my lungs dried up instantly, I couldn't believe he would be so ruthless as to kill someone just because I plan on rejecting his order. I coiled my fist tightly while having a second thought about whether he would be that ruthless to our pack members.
“If he could be ruthless to his daughter then who is your nanny that he would hesitate to kill?” My wolf said but I shut her up before she could distract my reasoning.
But thinking about it, I think my wolf made sense because the look on the man's face tells me he wouldn't hesitate to do so.
My nanny — the only person I had left and I could call my one and only family in this cold place. Even though we weren't blood related, I have grown fond of her and consider her as my family.
I could feel my tears gathering up but I refused to shed any. I refused to shed tears in front of a person like him. A person who has offered me nothing but endless pain.
“You want me to enter the selection as your daughter, fine. But in exchange for that, my nanny has to follow me there. After all, I am used to being around her.”
Alpha Jayden's lips curled into a cunning smile and satisfaction, “ You should have done the right thing instead of going back and forth with your father.”
“Can I leave now?” I asked as I do not wish to see the man's father any second from now.
“Not too fast, my dearest daughter. Are you that eager to leave or do you have any agenda?” Alpha Jayden asked but I couldn't bring myself to say a word as I was boiling in anger.
“What if you get there and decide to go against our pack? What if you betray your father's pack, huh?”
Thinking about it now, I would have surely done this. I wouldn't hesitate to get revenge when I have the chance.
“Then send someone else who won't betray you, Alpha,” I muttered coldly.
“Hmmm, bring the pills.” He said to his beta who was standing right next to him. And the man walked to the shelf nearby and brought out a wooden square box which seemed a little bit old.
“Give her the pills.”
I was confused for a moment. “What pill is that, Father?” I asked while shivering underneath. I don't know why but my mind kept telling me the pills had something to do with putting me in check if eventually I was chosen.
“Soulless pills. Don't worry, it only reacts when the moon ends. As long as you take the antidote on time, you'll be fine, daughter.”
My shoulder dropped instantly, and I couldn't believe my ears. And did he just call me daughter? Who on earth gives their daughter a pill that c

And finally, the tears I have been holding stream down my cheeks.
Startled, Olivia turned around and sighed in relief upon seeing the person, it was no other person than her best friend, Annie.“Annie, you scared the hell out of me.” She muttered, reliving a sigh of relief in the air. “What are you thinking about? Besides, Olivia, I thought we agreed to wait for me at the entrance. I can't believe you left before my arrival.” Annie pouted sadly as she looked at the empty seat beside her best friend. “I know it might sound like a lie. But I tried to wait for you but I wasn't expecting to see our classmates at the entrance. She directed me here,” Olivia said calmly with her puppy look.Even though Annie was a bit angry, upon seeing the puppy look at Olivia, her anger melted and instantly changed to a giggle from both ends. By the time you'll be reading this message, I'll be at the airport then.” I clenched my fist as I read the message Audrey had sent to me. I couldn't believe my eyes as I read the message while trying my best to stay composed as I could. “Master, what's your next plan?”“Madam is still waiting for your wife on the hospital bed, master,” Tony said to me but I couldn't bring myself to say anything, I was still trying to recover from the shock. I have never thought a day would come when my girlfriend, whom I cherish dearly, would choose her career over me and even leave me stranded on our wedding day. Chapter 28Nanny Janet Everyone among the female guests has returned except my Miss. I have stood guard at the entrance of the door just to make sure I would see her faster to ease my worrisome look. The more I stand guard at the door, the darker it gets. I could only pace to and fro not knowing what to do. It got to a stage where I couldn't endure it anymore, and I could only think of what to do, and decided on the other guest. I figured out that they would be in the dining room meant for the guests. There has always been a dining room for all the female guests who came for the bride selection, but my lady has chosen to eat inside her room instead. Maybe that was the reason she never made a single friend. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, and I found myself standing a few inches away from the dining room. I could hear them giggling among themselves with some of their maids standing guard outside. I mustered up courage and made my way towards the entrance but I was instant
Julianne “Mister, I don't know if you need a bride?” I mustered to say but the man only looked cold without any expression on his face. For a second, I thought if I was making the right decision, but thinking about it once again, I believed in it as much as I wouldn't end up with Ethan. Then any choice made is the best. The man in front of me looked aloof and cold. He looks as if he does at me like some strange crazy woman. It was as if he never believed he would ever encounter a shameless person like her.And that's a little bit understandable because who on earth goes around asking if he or she needs a bride or groom? Only me! Since the man wasn't making any attempt to speak, instead of making another fool of myself, I turned around and made to leave. “Let's get it done!” His cold voice echoed right into my ears, making me stunned as I turned back to look at the man with an unbelievable expression. “Do you mean it, Mister?” I asked, my eyes beaming with happiness. It was as if
