Lisa's POV
"You useless girl!" My father’s voice boomed through the small kitchen, making me flinch .
A sharp pain shot through my cheek as his palm connected with my skin.
The force of the heavy slap made me stumble back, but I caught myself against the counter.
"You’re weak! Not only are you weak, you are also Worthless! How dare you stand here doing nothing while your stepsister is out there making herself useful!" he spat.
"I.. I was about to start dinner
.." My voice came out small, it was barely above a whisper.
"Dinner?" My stepmother, Lila, scoffed from across the room, her arms were crossed.
Her perfectly curled hair and expensive clothes made her look like a queen standing next to a very ragged servant .
"Do you think that making food will make up for how pathetic you really are?" she sneered.
I lowered my head, with my hands trembling. No matter what I did , it was just never enough.
"Clean this mess up!" My father pointed at the dirty dishes that were stacked up high in the kitchen sink .
"And make sure Olivia has everything she needs for tonight," Lila added. "She deserves the best. Not like you."
I swallowed back the lump that found itself in my throat and nodded in obedience to their words.
I knew better than to argue with them.
I had been treated this way for as long as I could remember.
My father wasn’t always like this but since my mom died and he got mated to my stepmom, he has changed.
At first it was all good and rosey, then it just went from good to sour gradually until it became like this.
I couldn't even recognize my father anymore.
He began raising his voice at me and beating me.
I became one who was always unwanted, always hated.
The only reason they even kept me was because of the Alpha.
He had shown interest in me. Me.. an omega. It was so unheard of.
If I became his Luna, my father and stepmother would gain so much status and power.
That was the only reason they hadn’t thrown me away like some trash.
But that didn’t mean they treated me well.
"Why are you just standing there? MOVE!" my father roared angrily.
I jumped and quickly turned to the sink , scrubbing the dishes as fast as I could. My hands shook, and my eyes burned , but I didn’t dare to let a tear drop
Crying only made things worse.
A soft knock came at the door. I stiffened immediately.
"Oh, Olivia! There you are, sweetheart," Lila gushed, while rushing over to embrace her daughter.
Olivia stepped inside, with her long golden hair shining under the kitchen lights, and her perfect lips curling into a smile.
"Hi, Mom. Hi, Dad."
She didn’t even glance at me..
"Are you ready for tonight?" Lila asked excitedly.
"Of course. I just came to get my dear sister," Olivia said sweetly.
My head snapped up.
"Me?"
Olivia finally turned to me, with her eyes twinkling. "Yes! You never go out. Come with me tonight. Let’s have fun before the Luna selection day!"
I hesitated for a bit.
Olivia and I had always been close growing up .
Everyone called us twins because we looked so much alike , but our lives were very different from each other.
She was the perfect daughter.. The one who was loved by all .
I was the mistake.
The one who was nothing.
"I don’t know.."
"Come on!" she pouted. "One night won’t kill you."
I glanced at my father.
His glare told me that if I refused, I would regret it.
"Okay," I whispered in response to her request.
"Great!" Olivia clapped her hands. "Let’s go."
I followed her out the door, with my stomach twisting with so much unease.
Something just didn’t feel right.

THE PACK'S COMMUNITY CLUB
The pack’s community club was so loud and crowded. The music blasted through the speakers, people danced so wildly , and the air smelled of sweat and alcohol .
I felt so out of place immediately.
"Relax, sister," Olivia whispered in my ear. "Let’s just have some fun."
She handed me a drink.
"I don’t drink," I muttered.
"One sip won’t kill you."
I hesitated a little bit . My throat was dry, my nerves were on edge. Maybe she was right.
"Come on, sister, you need to have fun for once in your life!"
I stared at Olivia, my stepsister, as she tugged on my arm, dragging me toward the pack’s community club. My heart pounded faster and loudly that I could hear it.
The music was extremely loud, the lights were flashing, and the smell of alcohol mixed with sweat made my stomach churn.
"I don’t want to be here," I whispered.
"Oh, come on! You’re always so boring. Just one night, okay?" Olivia smiled sweetly, but something about her eyes made me feel so uneasy.
I hesitated , as I tried reaching for my phone. I needed to call my mate , the Alpha . But my pockets were empty. My bag.. where was my bag? I searched for it.
"Olivia, have you seen my phone.?"
She blinked innocently.. "No. Maybe you left it at home. Forget about the phone, just enjoy yourself. After all, tomorrow is Luna selection day."
I frowned. My phone usually never left my side.
My mate would be calling soon.
I needed to answer his call.
"I need to go home," I said, while stepping back.
Olivia grabbed my wrist tightly. "Stay. Just for a little while. For me?" She asked in a very polite way, that I couldn't resist helping her.
I sighed. Maybe just a little while.
She handed me a drink. "Here, it will help you relax."
I stared at the glass. I didn’t drink. Something felt wrong.
But Olivia was smiling, and watching me closely. My throat was dry. Maybe one sip wouldn’t hurt.
I lifted the glass to my lips and took a small sip.
I took a small sip.
Warmth spread through my body, then I felt dizziness. My vision also blurred.
"Olivia.. I don’t feel.. good
She grabbed my shoulders. "I’ll take you somewhere to rest . Come on."
My legs felt weak. I could barely walk. The room spun around me.
"Olivia.. my phone.. Alpha.. I need..
"Shh, just rest," she whispered.
She led me down a dark hallway, with her grip tightening.
Panic crawled up my throat.
Something was wrong.
I tried to pull away, but my body wouldn’t listen.
"You will be fine, sister," Olivia whispered.
She opened a door.
I forced my body to move. I stumbled back. I needed to get out.
I turned and ran. My feet were so unsteady, my heart racing.
I crashed into a door and pushed inside.
A strong scent filled my nose, it was powerful, and intoxicating.
The room was dark, but I felt a presence.
Then, warm, firm hands caught me as I fell.
"Who are you?" A deep, commanding voice rumbled.
I opened my mouth, but the world faded into black.
Chapter 87 3rd POV The wendigos crept forward as liquid shadow ‚ their eyes glowing brighter with each step they took into the moonlight. Their skeletal bodies twisted unnaturally ‚ long limbs tipped with claws that looked capable of slicing through steel. The air grew colder than the dead of winter‚ frost crawling across the forest floor as their presence pressed in closer..Sharon’s breath misted into the frigid air‚ her fingers trembling not with fear‚ but with a strange and hungry power surging through her veins. It felt as though the forest itself had awakened inside her‚ feeding that wild current.“They’re testing us‚” Zara whispered‚ her tone deadly quiet as she stepped forward. “Don’t let them see your fear. That’s how they feed. The more they sense it‚ the stronger they grow—and trust me‚ you don’t want them any stronger than they already are.”Jake growled low‚ claws flashing silver in the moonlight. “Let them come. They’ll regret setting foot in my lands.”The first wend
Chapter 863rd POVThe forest was wrapped in an uneasy stillness‚ the air still thick with the tension of battle. Sharon clung to Jake‚ her heart pounding as Mirabel’s cruel insults and Killian’s chilling promises replayed in her mind. Yet in Jake’s strong grasp‚ she found a fleeting moment of safety a reminder of why they fought at all."Are you all right?" Jake murmured‚ his voice low and softened‚ golden eyes scanning hers for the truth.Sharon nodded‚ but the tremor in her voice betrayed her. "I’m fine. But… they’ll be back‚ won’t they?"Jake’s hands framed her face‚ his thumb brushing lightly over her cheek. "Then let them come. I’ll stand between you and them‚ no matter what." But for now‚ they had to regroup. "The baby and you come first."She didn’t get to respond. A sudden rustle came from the edge of the trees. Jake’s head snapped toward the sound‚ his body coiled for battle but it wasn’t Killian or Mirabel.A figure in black stepped from the shadows ‚ its presence unsettlin
Chapter 853rd POVJake turned around‚ his eyes blazing gold‚ claws half-extended. The voice that had shattered their fragile moment seemed to crawl straight out of the shadows‚ making the air feel heavy and wrong.Killian stepped out from the treeline‚ flanked by two more rogues and Mirabel. Her lips twisted into a smug‚ poisonous smile‚ her hand resting possessively on Killian’s arm as though she had already claimed victory before the battle had even begun.“Did you really think it would be that easy‚ brother?” Killian’s voice was cold‚ mocking. His gaze slid to Sharon‚ and the cruel smirk curling his mouth made Jake’s blood boil. “You might have won this little fight‚ but you’re nowhere close to winning the real one.”Jake growled‚ stepping in front of Sharon‚ his body forming a shield between her and the vipers before him. “You’ve gone too far‚ Killian‚” he snarled. “This isn’t about the Alpha title anymore‚ is it? You’ve sunk low enough to target my mate and my child?”Mirabel’s
Chapter 8 Lisa’s POV I froze, my hand halfway to the door handle. That voice.. it was light, lilting , and yet strangely commanding.. I’d never heard it before , but something about it felt.. familiar. My mind instantly went to the worst possible scenario. A rival. He’s already seeing someone else. Of course he is. I pressed my ear against the door , trying to catch the words. “.. he’s not here?” the voice asked softly, almost like a melody. My stomach knotted. The way she spoke — casual , confident told me she was no stranger to this house. I didn’t know when my fingers turned the handle, but suddenly the door was open , and I was staring into a pair of bright, honey-brown eyes. The girl blinked , startled , then her gaze swept over me from head to toe. She was stunning tall , with waves of dark hair spilling over her shoulders , dressed in a cream coat that looked far too expensive to touch.. “Oh ,” she said slowly, as if processing the sight of me. “You’re.. not who I e
Chapter 7Lisa’s POV“I asked you a question ,” I whispered , my voice barely there. “Why are you being so kind?”Leo didn’t speak at first..The silence wrapped around us..Then he breathed , “Because someone should’ve been.”I stared up at him. “That’s not a real answer..”“It’s the only one I have..”My throat burned. My body ached. I didn’t even know if I was crying anymore..“You’re carrying something precious ,” he said, his eyes flicking to my stomach. “And you were alone. That’s enough reason for me..”“You don’t even know me ,” I muttered.“I know enough.”“No, you don’t ,” I hissed. “You don’t know what I’ve done. Who I’ve been accused of being. You don’t know the shame I’ve lived in!”He didn’t flinch. “Then tell me.”I blinked..“What?”“Tell me who you are..”I wanted to scream. To punch him. To disappear again. Instead..“I’m nothing ,” I spat. “That’s who I am. I’m the discarded daughter. The rejected mate. The cursed omega. That’s what they all see when they look at me
Chapter 6Lisa’s POV"Here," he said , as he opened the door to the small inn.I blinked , swaying slightly. "Where are we?""Somewhere safe ," he muttered , helping me inside. The room was dimly lit but warm.. It smelled of clean sheets and faint lavender."Sit ," he commanded softly.I dropped onto the edge of the bed , my legs weak and trembling."You need to sleep.." He said "I don’t sleep well," I whispered."Well tonight, you will."He grabbed a blanket , gently covering me. His movements were very strange too careful for a stranger."Why are you doing this?" I asked , looking up at him.He paused. "You looked like you needed someone."I scoffed , curling up. "I always need someone. But they never stay."He didn’t respond."Thank you ," I murmured , In a voice cracking. Then I let my eyes rest. But all of that was just more or less a dream. The sun was up when I opened my eyes.My head pounded , my mouth was so dry, and my heart felt even emptier than the night before.I sat up
