Chapter Fifteen

Kris was the first to wake up the next morning which was no surprise as he hardly got a wink of sleep the night before.

It was still dark out, Niall was still asleep beside him.

He got out of bed and headed straight for his mom’s hotel room to check up on her.

The door was still locked the way it had been whe he left the night before and a quick peek showed him that she was fast asleep.

Sugar was wide awake though, the cat letting out a quiet meow at Kris’ presence.

Sugar hopped off the bed and hurried out the open door to meet Kris.

Kris let the cat tag along with him, taking a cold shower to wake himself up.

Thankfully, there was a cafe attached to the hotel, so they could get a quick breakfast there before continuing their journey.

It felt like they were on the run from the law, it was strange and not very exciting.
