FAZER LOGINGo to Hell!
(Renrik’s POV)
My brother asked me if the demon chaining up Seraphine was the same one that killed our father.
“Honestly, I don’t know, but he’s a demon traipsing around with a wolf under his thumb. He admitted to killing our kind. I’d say it’s fucking likely it’s him.”
“If he killed Dad, he’s powerful. You’re lucky you escaped with just a scratch,” Roderick gestured to my bandaged shoulder.
I held my head high, letting my pride get the better of me. “I nearly killed him.”
“And he won’t let you get that close to killing him again.”
“Where are you going with this, Rod?” I squared up to him, my shadow engulfing my Gamma brother.
“I know how you think, Ren,” Roderick didn’t recoil no matter how close I got. He would never be afraid of me, he’s seen me at my best and worst. I doubted there was anything I could do that would shock him anymore. “You’ll charge off without thinking things through. If you want your Luna, you need to be prepared. It will take time-”
“Time? We don’t have time, Roderick. That bastard is going to take out his anger on Seraphine, I just know it!” I started to pace, muscles twitching. “I doubt that he’ll kill her. He’s using her for something. But I know he’s going to make her life miserable, just because I exist.” My knuckles turned white as I clenched my fists tighter. Perhaps I was just as the demon said; violent. I wanted to hit something; smash it to pieces just to blow off some steam.
Roderick lowered his head in disappointment. I couldn’t see his eyes, but I could stare at my own reflection in his spectacles as I stopped in front of him again. I was so angry. Dangerous. I hated the image before me. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, settling myself.
Kenton cleared his throat, hovering at the edge of the room. He could read me just as well as Rod could. “You know, Ren, you haven’t even told us much about your mate. What’s she like?”
I let his words sink in. I let him rope my thoughts and guide them away from the rage. “Small,” I breathed. “She smelt like vanilla and peaches hidden under a coat of ash.”
Seraphine was the most beautiful woman I had ever laid eyes on, but I didn’t want to be shallow. I paused and recounted our first meeting. “She… stood up to the demon even though he could have snapped his fingers and killed her. She wanted to be with me. There is no doubt that Seraphine was the white light we saw; she radiated purity. I couldn’t smell any other scents on her, either. She’s- Seraphine is a virgin.”
My own words made me salivate and I had to swallow it. I hoped that the guys didn’t notice, but it was difficult to contain myself the more I thought about my fated mate. “God, I want to mark her.” My leg began to shake impatiently.
A primal urge stirred within me and I quickly tamed it. “Her name is Seraphine Lowell.”
“Lowell?” Roderick looked puzzled.
Kenton beamed and bounced on his heels like an excited puppy. “You know her, Roddy?”
“No, no,” Roderick scratched the back of his head, deep in thought. “I’ve heard the family name before, but it’s pretty common. It’s probably nothing.”
I wrinkled my nose and puffed out my chest. “It was a common name for families related to the Celesta pack.”
“Celesta?!” That put Roderick and Kenton on their haunches.
My brother’s voice squeaked when he spoke. “That’s the pack that Dad -”
“Yes. I know.” I nodded gravely. “All the more reason for me to rescue her, right?”
“I suppose so,” Roderick agreed. “But you still need a plan -”
“I have a plan.” Sort of. “Listen, I noticed something on the demon’s hand when he teleported away or however the fuck demons travel. I’ve seen something like it before, when Dad showed us around the Vault. A ring. A Hellion ring. I think it can take us to Hell.”
“That is not a plan,” Roderick grumbled.
“I go to Hell, grab the girl, come straight back to the Surface. The demon won’t be able to touch a hair on Seraphine once she’s under the protection of our veil.”
“That’s not a plan!” Roderick roared, spit flying from his fangs and onto my chest. “Fine. You know what, fine. Just do what you want. I’ll help you study the ring, but we’re doing it tomorrow, after we’ve all had some rest.”
“I don’t need your help,” my words were forced through grit teeth. ‘Impatient. Impatient. Impatient.’ What was wrong with me?
“You’re getting it anyway,” Roderick promised before storming towards the door. His limp didn’t hinder him at that moment. “Because good luck opening the Vault without my part of the key, idiot.” He slammed the door behind him.
“Fuck.”
Kenton laughed and gave me a solid pat on the back, deliberately on my good side. “Suddenly regretting giving me and your brother part of the keys to the vault?”
“No. This is the reason you have them. So I don’t get access to powerful artefacts and royally fuck things up.” I sighed and collapsed onto the spare bed, rubbing my calloused hand down my face, over my stubble. I couldn’t remember the last time I shaved, or when I last took care of my appearance in general. There wasn’t anyone I needed to impress, so who the heck cared what I looked like?
My chest rose as I inhaled. “You’ll take care of the pack while I’m gone, won’t you?”
“Ren, I’m coming with you.”
“The fuck you are. You’re going to make sure nothing happens to Veilrend -”
“Roddy is more than capable of running this place, Ren. He has a damn good head on his shoulders and you need to stop interrupting him and let him speak.”
I squinted at my friend. “You literally just interrupted me.”
“Because you need to hear this.”
“He’s weak.”
“He’s smart and stronger than you give him credit for. Yes, he’s not as strong as you. He never will be, but he’s the Gamma for a reason. The pack will be fine in his hands for a day or two.” Kenton assured me.
I thought about what he said. It would be a great boon for me to have my Beta by my side as I breached the layers of Hell. I trusted Kenton with my life and if anything happened to me on the mission, he’d be the one I would trust to look after Seraphine.
My nostrils flared. “Doctor Nyxson would love Roderick being in charge. She’ll get to play-pretend-Luna for real,” I huffed. “I’ll sleep on it, but if I say you’re staying here, Kent, you’re staying here. Do you understand?”
“You’re crystal clear, Renrik!”
“Good. Now get outta here,” I barked.
Kenton happily left me to wallow in the shadows alone. I didn’t bother to drag myself to my real room.
I should have felt guilty about how quickly I gave in to sleep, but I didn’t. I was tired.
As my consciousness slipped into the veil that protected my pack, I found myself in an ethereal world. Shimmering lights of blue, pink and purple illuminated the misty plane. I was standing on something and nothing at the same time. I looked around and my eyes widened.
“Seraphine?”

Chapter 32Fiery Temper(Diana’s POV) It was Hell in Hell. Seraphine’s absence and the leash on Valefar had my master in a rotten mood. I had seen him grab numerous imps by the face and squeezed until their heads imploded, simply because they were the nearest thing to him when someone had pissed him off. I laid low. Not just because he was in a dangerous mood, but because I was still stinging from the night we shared together. The night I had gotten drunk off of lust and fantasies. The night he had officially rejected me and kicked me into the corridor butt-naked. It hurt on so many levels. I didn’t even know where to begin with healing. I still loved him. He was my demonic Alpha and despite Valefar making it very clear that I was nothing more than a guinea pig to him, I was still ready and willing to let him conduct any vicious experiment he wanted on me. So long as it resulted in me being held in his arms or feeling the blazing heat of his skin against my own. Goddess, it’s so
Chapter 31Heat(Seraphine’s POV)His lips were delicate. With how large and bulging Renrik’s muscles were, I assumed his touch would be rough and unforgiving. Instead, the kiss felt like a butterfly had landed on my lips, curiously searching for nectar. Oh, how I wanted to give him my nectar. I kissed back.I was inexperienced and nervous, but I surprised myself with how hungry I was for that moment. I went onto the tips of my toes and pressed myself against him. I didn’t care that he was dripping wet and soaking my clothes. I desperately needed to feel the shape of his body against mine. My fingers tangled themselves within his dark hair, while my other hand stroked the back of his neck. I relished the fact my touch gave him goosebumps.Suddenly I was engulfed. He pulled me into a fierce embrace, more in line with what I had expected from an Alpha. Possessive. Protective. His body was rock-hard and I could feel something harder squashed against my stomach. It must have been his
Chapter 30Washed Up(Renrik’s POV)I was supposed to be preparing my big speech to rally the troops, but I had put my shower off for far too long. Cleansing the stench of Hell from my skin seemed like a far better use of my time than locking myself in my bedroom and scribbling nonsense on post-it notes. No-one would have described me as the charismatic type, and my brother definitely wouldn’t have called me a planner. As much as I wanted to write some inspiring speech, it wasn’t who I was and I would just end up throwing any predetermined script out of the window anyway. I didn’t bother telling any of the domestic staff I was showering, because I was capable of grabbing my own fucking towels and soap. I didn’t enjoy having maids, but it was supposed to be an honour to serve the Alpha and his bloodline. To strip them of that honour was worse than firing or not hiring them at all. In the end, I let Roderick deal with the comings and goings of the staff.Steam swiftly filled the bath
Chapter 29Family(Seraphine’s POV)I picked a pair of black pants and a neat, cream blouse. They both fit me quite well and I thought I looked rather pretty in the combination, but Yvonne pouted when I stepped out of the bathroom wearing them.“I’m too fat for that outfit now,” she huffed, gathering and folding the unpicked clothes. After words like that, my eyes were immediately drawn to her body. She didn’t look much bigger than me, but there was definitely one clear difference. “You’ve just got bigger boobs,” I pointed out.She glanced down at her chest and readjusted how her girls sat in her bar. “And a bigger ass, but that’s because I eat too much cheese.” I giggled. For a second, it felt like I was back with Amber and Diana (back before Diana became a dedicated disciple of Valefar). On top of that, despite knowing Yvonne for only an hour, I had this inexplicable urge to call her my sister. There was a strong tug on my heart, guiding me towards her. It was nothing like the co
Chapter 28The Alpha?(Renrik’s POV)I didn’t want to let Seraphine out of my sight, but I was too tired to battle Yvonne for custody of her. Besides, I didn’t want to be seen as one of those controlling men whose Luna daren’t breathe without his permission. It was important for Seraphine to get a medical checkup. Goddess knows if she’d ever been seen by a real fucking physician before. And having another female around her, one we could actually trust, who wasn’t some wretched succubus, would probably give Seraphine space to express and explore her emotions. I had tried hard to be open and lend her a listening ear, but I know I’m shit at it. Finding the scarce right words to say to a woman, when there’s millions of wrong ones; it’s an impossible task. Even the Alpha of all Alphas would struggle to answer a woman correctly. Thoughts of Seraphine reluctantly faded into the back of my mind as I marched through the village towards the Duskborne home.Whenever I left the pack on busines
Chapter 27Welcome to Veilrend(Seraphine POV) Finally… FINALLY I got to see a real pack. I expected Veilrend to have a white, veil-like dome draped over it, but it didn’t. The place looked like an old village with an ancient stone wall framing its borders. I admit, I was a little disappointed to find out the protective barrier was invisible. “Ah, home sweet home,” Kenton beamed. “After you, Seraphine.” Renrik gestured to the main entrance into town. “A real pack. A real community with just wolves.” My voice trembled and my legs were frozen. I didn’t know what to expect and I never dreamed I’d set foot in another pack. Especially one neighbouring the graveyard of my own origins. I nervously glanced at Renrik. “I… I don’t know what to do. What’s the etiquette?” “I’ll introduce you,” he assured me, as he bowed his head in greeting to the man and woman approaching us. “My brother and his fiancée are coming, so let’s go.” With one deep breath, I stepped into Veilrend. Again, I was
Chapter 18Woman of the forest (Seraphine’s POV) Kenton led the way while remaining in his wolf form. Renrik walked behind me in his human form, leaving a fair distance between us. I could feel his one good eye on me. Watching me as though I was a prisoner about to make a break for it. On top of
Chapter 17Like father, like son(Seraphine’s POV)Once Renrik left, I collapsed beside the fire. I knew Alphas held an immeasurable amount of power and had a natural aura of dominance, but feeling it for myself was surreal. There were no Alphas in Hell. Valefar killed them all or simply didn’t capt
Chapter 16The Surface(Seraphine’s POV)I awoke to the sound of birdsong and to the scents of a lush forest filling my nostrils. It was a stark contrast to the screaming of tortured souls and the odour of rotten meat that I was accustomed to. I had lived with those things for so long that I barely
Chapter 15No(Seraphine’s POV)“No?” Renrik’s eyebrows rose. “What do you mean ‘no’? Kent,” he suddenly snarled at his companion. “Why haven’t you taken her yet?”“She wouldn’t come!” Kent squeaked as the swirling fire behind him started to fluctuate. Renrik’s one-eyed blue stare switched back to
