Liam’s hands were warm on my shoulders, steadying me. His gaze searched for mine as if I held answers even I didn’t understand.

“Your wolf?” he asked in a low, careful voice. “Maya… you actually have a wolf?”

I nodded slowly. “She’s speaking to me right now.”

A growl vibrated in my head, strong but not hostile. Yes, Maya. I am Nyx. I’ve been locked away for years. Hidden from you. Not by your mother… but by the witch.

I blinked hard. “The witch?”

Fiona leaned in. “What witch?”

Nyx’s voice sharpened, her words dripping with venom. The night you were born, your mother gave you life under the Silver Moon.
