When Alpha Cage had said Ezra would be coming with him, Ezra thought the decision had been made in that moment. But less than an hour after he got the news, a small bag was packed and he was riding out of the pack with Alpha Cage behind him. Ezra’s insides twisted as he stared at the look on his alpha's face. “No. I didn’t believe. I just…” “So what do you think?” Cage cut him off. “What?” “Do you think I killed them for their lands?” He asked again, his eyes searching Ezra’s own. He wanted the truth in them and not the words from his mouth. Ezra swallowed again under the intense stare. In the beginning, he would have believed immediately. And maybe at the start of their relationship, he would have doubted. Because that was what alphas did.
