Chapter 2

MAIA’S POV

I got dressed in the wedding dress and was walked to the garden by Ayra, who was now pretending to be me.

 

My heart was thumping wildly, madly, and very fast because I didn't know what would happen after this.

 

I kept my gaze down, but immediately, Dad and Adam saw us approaching, they knew we'd been switched — I could tell that from the expression on their eyes.

 

When I reached the edge of the aisle, I looked up slightly and saw my groom from afar, wearing a different mask than the one I knew him to wear.

 

"Didn't Alpha Riot say he's not coming?" I asked Ayra, who was beside me in a low whisper.

 

She was smiling at the camera, but managed to reply through her smile, "Exactly. But we can't tell if it's him or not. So let's wait and see."

 

Dad approached us from the side and took my hand to walk me down the aisle, and at this point, he quickly asked me before we proceeded, "What happened? Why are you in the dress and not your sister?"

 

"Let's talk later, Dad," I answered, and he grudgingly accepted, walking me down the aisle.

 

Each step toward the man sent my heart thumping wildly, fearing he would know it's me — that promise never to see him again.

 

We stopped before the golden-headed man, without any smile, staring deeply into those grey eyes I fell in love with and always pay to see. It took up to three minutes before he took my hand from Dad's, and immediately our skin touched each other's, the electric shock that always got me wishing he was my boyfriend sparked again.

 

'What are you doing, Maia!' I yelled to myself before composing myself and plastering a fake smile on my face.

 

"The bride and groom shall exchange rings now and kiss each other," the order said, and everyone clapped.

 

Goosebumps kissed my skin. Will I be able to kiss him in front of everyone? In front of Ayra, his original bride, or Adam, or my dad?

 

Ayra, the bride's maid, brought the ring, and the man took it and inserted it on my finger without flinching one bit.

 

Perhaps he doesn't remember me, because I used to be on a mask too.

 

Heaving a quick sigh, I took the ring and inserted it on his finger, but did not make any move to kiss him.

 

I stood there like a statue until he suddenly leaned over and placed a kiss on my lip slowly, making my heart almost jump out of my body.

 

I gasped when he leaned away, staring at him with shock. Did he know it's me or not?

 

The other procedure was very fast, and soon I was free to roam around, but I couldn't.

 

I was in the room with Ayra, who was on her knees, pleading with me to follow him.

 

"Ayra, you promised to follow him, and that I just have to stand in as a bride!"

 

How Ayra changed her face so quickly is so amusing that I stood up angrily and tore the veil, "I will never follow him as his Luna! You made a promise, Ayra, and you must stand by your words."

 

Ayra got to her feet and grabbed a dagger. She gave it to me. "Kill me then. At least my dead body will not have to follow him, right?"

 

"Ayra!!!" I yelled in frustration, and two strings of tears ran down my cheeks very fast. What more did I have to face today?

 

Adam came in afterwards. Still embarrassed to look at me, he faced Ayra, "Dad says the bride should come downstairs for the photo session."

 

"Your sister is the bride, don't face me," she said, making me face her angrily. "She has torn the veils, but I'll mend them before the photo session..."

 

"Enough with this, Ayra!!" I cried. "Please come back to your senses. You only asked me to be the bride because you're scared of Alpha Riot. Can't you handle the photo at least? We look alike and have the same body shape; he wouldn't notice anything."

 

"Maia, that man is scary! I thought he would reject you for being an omega, but he's given you the ring now!" She argued back, and I lost control of my knees, falling back into the chair.

 

I can't believe I'll be stuck to this man yet again....

I have a secret that I don't tell anyone, including Ayra or Adam, who are my blood relatives.

 

Actually, I cheated on Jeff first. Not the actual cheating like he did anyway.

 

I have a secret hobby on the OnlyFans site, to look at handsome men, and book a 'dance with me'

 

When I had the guts to tell Jeff about this, he didn't object and would even take my phone to see the photos of guys I'd saved.

 

I thought he was barely watching for entertainment like me, not knowing he was gay.

 

I booked a 'dance with me' with the most followed hottie, nicknamed 'Daddy M', and I thought he would be like the other guys who would always ask for transport fare or a gift card, thinking I was one rich sugar mama. But he never asked for anything other than the location to meet.

 

I actually don't have any intentions of doing anything with him. Just see him in real life and take some pictures, which is why I left my house to meet him at the club we'd both chosen, here at our pack.

 

He had a mask on, and I  have a mask. I can't lie, I fell in love with his well-bred arm-length golden hair first, before his grey eyes that set my heart on fire.

 

We became closer than a fan and idol, without taking off our masks, not until...until the day he came looking sad.

 

I persuaded him and petted him until he fell asleep in my arms, and we rented a room. I couldn't just leave him there since he was unconscious, so I stayed there with him, and when he woke up at midnight, the unexpected happened - We had sex!

 

He apologized to me, and I stopped liking his post and even considering meeting him again, ignoring his DMs and promising to keep the secret until I die.

 

But now he popped up  here, as my groom?

 

Ayra brought the veil and fixed it into my hair before the photo session began. She was fast about it and didn't give me the chance to talk to her, while I don't see Alpha Riot anywhere around.

 

Still waiting for him so we could start the photo session that most of the guests had taken over, I felt the golden hair spread on my neck, and before I could turn, his hand pinned me to my chair, and he bent down to whisper.

 

"Hey, we meet again."
