CHAPTER FIVE

Lisa’s POV

She walked into the CEO's office and found him busy typing on his computer. "Good morning," she said calmly. "I was told to bring these files to you. Your signature is needed."

Although she appeared calm on the outside, deep down, she was feeling nervous. Just as she was about to leave, she heard his voice.

"Wait! Who are you?" he asked, smirking.

"I'm your new secretary," she decided to play along, matching his smirk.

She turned to leave again, but he stopped her once more.

"Stop! Come here!" he said, sounding furious.

"Sorry, I didn't introduce myself. My name is Miss Lisa, your new secretary," she said, smirking back at him.

"Today is my first day, and I guess I have a lot to handle. I need to plan my work schedule," she said, playing the game even better.

"May I take my leave now, sir?" she asked, not waiting for his response as she left the office.

She went back to her own office and meticulously planned her work schedule. As she printed out the appointment letters she found in the mail, she couldn't help but wonder why so many people were requesting appointments just to see that jerk.

She walked right into his office without even knocking, confidently dropping the papers on his desk. "Here's the scheme," she said, handing over the appointment letters. "Tomorrow, we have a joint meeting and a partnership meeting." She maintained her professional demeanor.

"Wow, bravo!" George exclaimed, applauding.

But then his tone turned sour. "So, you're this shameless and desperate?" he sneered. "Weren't you the one who said you wouldn't work for me? And just a few days ago, you didn't care about my personality?"

A mischievous smile crossed his face as he continued, "Well, well, well, the proud peacock is right in front of me. It's quite a shame to see mighty Lisa stooping so low as to be my secretary."

She smiled back at him and asked, "Isn't it obvious, Mr. George?"

"This isn't stooping low, it's called business," she replied confidently.

“As the billionaire businessman you claim to be, I think you should know a thing or two about business, this contract marriage is all business. I'm just playing my part by working for you, just like you played yours by giving my dad a loan. So let's keep it professional here. We don't know each other beyond our roles as employee and boss in this company.”

"Nice one, Miss Lisa. We should indeed be professional, right? No relationship ties us together except for that of employee and boss. Good, let the business begin," he said, smiling wickedly.

"But can you handle a boss like me?" he asked again. "Is this a challenge?" she asked.

"Yes," he whispered.

"Challenge accepted," she whispered back.

He grabbed some files, not knowing how many there were, and dropped them in front of her. She remained silent, waiting for his instructions."Copy and print them, then make ten photocopies of each file you copied. Good luck," he said.

"With pleasure," she replied, picked up the files, and left the office.

"This girl is trying to drive me crazy," he muttered. "But I'll make your life a living hell!" he said, grinning widely.
