Anesha's POV

Diana's grip on her cutlery is tight. Her knuckles white as pearls. It's exciting and fearsome to watch her struggle to keep hold of her perfectly well-mannered persona. The seconds tick by and finally, she breathes deeply. Letting it go slowly before turning back to her food.

“Let's not rush now. We have a whole wedding to plan. I'll save my congratulations till after that, dear brother. Wouldn't want a repeat of the last time, now would we?”

Deimos' jaw clenches. Eyes burning with anger as he twirls his fork in his plate. A chill runs through my spine. The tension on the table sucking the air out of it.

“Diana.” her father warns.

The fire in her eyes focus on me. “I'm just worried. Anesha has quite the reputation. If word gets out of something else, it might not be so easy to fold over and toss away.”

My blood runs cold at the thought of the secret I'm sitting on. I t

  • The Billionaire's Naughty Christmas Bride    SURPRISE VISIT

Deimos' POVHer face goes white like a ghost. I recognize the look in her eyes. It's the same one as when she saw me at the house. Back then, I'd thought she was terrified of me. Seeing her look at me that way stabbed a bayonet right through my heart and ripped it out. Ever since that night, our relationship has been beyond rocky but never in a million years would I ever hurt her. I thought she knew that but I was wrong and its all my fault. Now that same expression is fixed on her phone. My hands turn into fists, a blood lust I'd kept under lock and key soaring through me at the thought that there was someone out there threatening her. I have to stop myself from asking who it is. How can I act like a protector when I'm the one thing she's scared of? Clutching her phone tightly, she turns the screen off and shoves it back into her bag. The breathe she takes comes out shaky. “I haven't been able to rest after the announcement. So many reporters asking for interview

  • The Billionaire's Naughty Christmas Bride    FAMILY DINNER

Anesha's POV I scramble away from the chair, frantic. My mind running a mile a minute. I'm all alone at home. Mrs Greta isn't cooking today because we're having dinner with Deimos' parents. Somehow he'd crept in and had been staring at me the whole time I slept. “Stay back.” I yell as he takes a step towards me. He freezes, eyes widening in shock and then falling to his shoes in a deflated way. When he lifts his head again, I see the pain in his eyes. I feel for the main light switch and turn it on. It isn't the green-eyed stranger standing there and I breathe a heavy sigh of relief. My legs giving way underneath me. Deimos moves to me instinctively, stopping mere steps away. The memories of that night lie between us like a chasm. I watch him take a step back widening the distance between us. “If you aren't feeling up for dinner, we can cancel. Wait till you're feeling better. You've only just come

  • The Billionaire's Naughty Christmas Bride    POWER SHIFT

Anesha's POV We both turn to see Deimos at the kitchen door. My heart skips a beat. Flashes of that picture come to the surface of my mind and I feel my face heating up. I grab my beakfast sandwich quickly, steeling myself. Greta folds her hand in front of her tightly and shakes her head at Deimos. “No Sir. I was merely explaining to Miss Stanford that she ought to eat more. It's my duty to-” “Let her do whatever she wants, Greta. It's fine.” Her eyes widen like headlights, and I'm tempted to gloat. She shakes out her surprise and bobs her head at him. I walk by without a word, catching whiffs of his perfume. They tease me to stop, to breathe him in but I don't. I can't. “We're going to see my parents today. Diana and Max will be there as well.” His hands are hidden in his pockets. There's no hint of emotion in his eyes. The anxiety he wore in the photo is gone. I bite my lip to keep myself from yelling at him. How can he look so flawless when I'm crumbling on the inside

  • The Billionaire's Naughty Christmas Bride    MOVE

We pad into the house, the distance between us a lot greater than it used to be. Stanley is right behind us, carrying my bag. Mrs Greta is standing in the kitchen with a too bright smile on her face. The house smells like spice and curry. I frown at her immediately. “Welcome back, Miss. Would you be eating now or-”“I'm not hungry.” I turn to the stairs. She doesn't break character. Her eyes narrow slightly but her expression is one of worry. “But you have to eat something. You must be feeling weak. I prepared a light meal that's-” “Greta,” Deimos breaks in before I can. “Anesha needs rest more than anything. Just keep it aside for later.” “Throw it away. I'm not eating it.” They both whirl at me in shock. Her frown deepens as she glares at me and I glare right back. “Feel free to prepare only Deimos' meals from now. I can cook for myself.” “Anesha-”“You're his housekeeper after all.” I continue upstairs to my room, leaving silence behind me. I thin

  • The Billionaire's Naughty Christmas Bride    OUT WITH THE OLD

Anesha's POV Everything hurts. My head, my throat, my chest. It's like my body is falling apart, breaking off each other and the pain is so unbearable. I can hear voices above me. Murmuring quietly and yet still too loud. Their words swimming over my head. I groan, painfully, trying to get my bearings. “Anesha?” A large hand rests on mine. It's too hot and heavy, so I try to wiggle away from it. “Anesha, can you hear me?” “Please, let her wake up, Sir.” I want to hug whomever said that but I can't move too much. My body feels like it's wrapped in a fluffy cloud. The air smells like clean, cold and with a hint of something else I haven't smelt in a long time. I can tell this isn't my room anymore. I open my eyes slowly, blinking as the bright lights assault my vision. “Anesha?” The first thing I see are his eyes and the memories come rushing back again. The trip. The proposal gone wrong.
