The Jealousy Game

 I am astounded as I heard loud car engines outside the mansion.

It seems that they have visitors again this time but it isn’t my father for sure.

Our cars aren’t this loud.

Footsteps followed by laughter was heard in the main door and I can hear Devin’s voice along with it.

He is talking with these people who just arrived in the house.

“Well, you knew me so well. I’m just a call away, Dev”; spoke by a woman’s voice which irritated me since its tone is obviously flirty.

“I really appreciate it, Mel. You’re a life-saver”, he told her followed by a chuckle.

Overhearing this kind of conversation between Devin and other women make my uncomfortable.

We haven’t seen each other yet after the confrontation that we had in my room and it is kind of obvious that it’s just nothing for him since he even have the time to invite another woman in his house.

I decided to go in the pool area to calm my nerves down while giving the reason of cleaning it out to Miss Portia.

I’m watering the hanging plants near the pool when someone talk behind me.

“Can you get me a towel?", the voice was from the woman that Devin was talking with a while ago and her tone is pissing me off already.

I still faced her with a smile before responding, “Sure. Just give me a moment”.

I can see a glare from her before I left her in the pool.

I’m just hoping that I can control my temper for this woman since she is already getting into my nerves.

I came back with a couple of towels in my hand when I reached a scene that I my eyes weren’t ready to witness.

She and Devin were kissing torridly while they’re in the water.

I don’t know how to exactly react on it but I can feel a pang of pain in my chest seeing such.

I am about to turn my back to go down when I heard him calling me, “Avery! Just place the towels in the chair. Thanks!”

He then dived down the pool and I can see the woman’s face full of irritation.

I just gave her a smirk and turn my back.

His room was empty when I entered it for the cleaning session.

There’s no trace of Devin in any corners of his room and it is giving a relief.

I’m starting cleaning the floor when I heard some footsteps coming out from the door. T

hree knocks and I opened it, which I regret.

It is her again with a vicious smile.

She entered the room and locked the door.

She gave me a warning look which puzzled me.

“I know that you like him”, she started to say while sitting in the side of his bedroom.

“What do you mean, ma’am?” I asked while giving her a serious look in my face.

“Don’t pretend that you don’t know what I mean”, she hissed with a glare.

“I’m sorry. I don’t really know what you’re talking about”, I said which I meant to heat up the conversation.

I badly want to irritate her more.

“You like Devin”, she announced while still giving me a glare.

I laughed, looked at her and laughed again. I hope this tactic will be effective.

“What’s funny?”, she asked while trying to stand up.

“I’m sorry. But I just can’t help it, ma’am. What you said was really funny. That’s not going to happen at all. He’s not my type for a guy and Sir Devin won’t surely let a maid like me to own him. Don’t worry, ma’am. He’s all yours” I told her while smiling.

I left the room with a victorious smile written on my face for unknown reason.

I just feel that I won something this time.
