Chapter 4 A threat

"What exactly did that jerk do this time" Maya questioned "The devil of a CEO sent me a text suggesting I sleep with him. His words were aggravating so I lashed out at him after which I handed in my resignation," Mel replied smiling mysteriously

Maya shook her head at Jack's behavior. "Be careful, Mel. He might come after you for standing up to him," she warned.

Mel brushed off her concern and teased, "What if I told you I had a little adventure today?"

Maya's eyes scanned Mel's body and noticed her red wrists. "Don't tell me he already hurt you!" she exclaimed in disbelief.

Mel recounted the incident to Maya, who was filled with rage. Maya moved closer to hug Mel and asked if she was scared. Mel laughed and reassured Maya that she wasn't afraid of anything.

Maya fumed, "That son of a bitch! I can only imagine what he had in mind to do with you."

"Maya my scared little kitten, Mel said patting her friends head. If anything, he would be the one to get hurt. Remember how those bullies from school ran away in fear when they saw me? And let's not forget how painful my punches can be." Mel spoke with pride in his voice.

"Instead of bragging like this, you had better go kneel at the alter on Sunday, thanking God for sending a saviour to you."

"You're lucky though, It's rare to meet people willing to help in such situations." Maya added

"I already told you he's a Sensei. If I were in his shoes I would do the same." Mel replied

"O yes, The whole world knows your deeds already, If there was ever an award for those who defended others, I'm sure you would claim the top prize." Maya said and they both burst into laughter

Just then, the door bell rang and Maya walked up to the door to see who it was. Just as she expected, It was the delivery man, he brought two boxes of pizzas. Maya collected her package and wished the delivery man a great day, after which she returned back in.

"Jeeez I'm so famished. What order did you make?" Mel asked eyeing the package in Maya's hand

"Pizza's. Tasty ones at that." Maya said in an enticing tone, she handed a box to Mel and kept one for herself.

After eating to their fill. They played girl dress up games, using the multiplayer option, they played against each other. Maya won against Mel in two of the three rounds played. It wasn't a new thing as Maya had a high taste in fashion, She even had a brand under her name. As for Mel, she preferred rocking kidult wears, she always saw putting on evening gowns and rocking the latest designer wears while looking like a fairy princess as Chaotic.

It was now 8:00pm in the evening, and Mel was set to leave for her apartment. She looked at Maya and screamed "There's a bug on your face" Maya despised bugs a lot, immediately she heard Mel's statement. She Jumped up and began shaking her whole body rigorously, she was screaming as she was doing this.

After a minute, she opened her eyes and looked around for Mel. She was no where to be found, it was then that she discovered that Mel had pranked her "Crazy girl, she couldn't even say goodbye, Just you wait till our next meeting" Maya said with a smile

Ethan was in his office when he heard a knock on the door. "The door is not locked," he said coldly, knowing that it must be Darth who Assistant Charles had earlier informed him about. Darth walked in, sporting a creepy smile on his face.

Ethan focused on a file on his table, ignoring the man in front of him. He was disgusted by Darth's presence and wanted to ask him to leave immediately, but he held back, waiting to hear what Darth had to say. After all, he had been expecting the visit. He knew Darth wouldn't sit still after he fired the heads of department brought in by him.

"I see you're doing a good job in reviving the company. You're just like your father, you know, so swift in taking action," Darth said with a grimace.

Ethan did not respond. "I heard you dismissed the heads of department on charges of fraud. It's such a pity. I employed them thinking they were competent hands. How sad," Darth spoke again.

"Isn't it crazy how those lies roll out of your mouth so easily? Say what you actually came to say and leave. Seeing you makes me sick to my stomach," Ethan said without mincing words.

"You may be the CEO of this company, but you have to operate on the decisions of the board of directors. Liam should be left in charge of the Clothing department. I believe you're wise enough to comprehend my words," Darth said, finally cutting to the chase.

"Seems you're forgetting something. Let me remind you one last time: I'm the Chairman and CEO of this company. I take orders from no one, absolutely no one, not even the board members. So find yourself a better backup," Ethan said icily.

"Let's see how much more you can put up that brave act of yours," Darth said, gritting his teeth.

"It will be too late when you find out it's not an act. I mean every single thing I say. Excuse me," Ethan said, turning his focus back to the file on his table.

Darth grinned widely and walked out of the office. It was obvious that he felt humiliated. He had come to threaten Ethan and now he ended up getting threatened.
