Chapter 5

Andrew sat at his desk, poring over case files for the murder investigation that had been consuming his attention for the past few days. As he worked, his phone buzzed on the desk, signaling a new message. He picked it up and saw that it was from his sister, Anna.

"Brother, I came to a medical camp suddenly so you will not find me at home. Don’t worry, I will be back in a few days. Love you, Anna."

Andrew couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Anna always kept him informed of her whereabouts, and this sudden change in plans seemed out of character for her.

"Maybe I'm just being paranoid," Andrew thought to himself. "But I haven't even showered in two days. I should head home."

He gathered his things and quickly made his way out of the office.
