New Boss, New Enemy

“Are you ready?” Kasan stopped beside me, placing his hand on my shoulder.

“I’ve been ready.”

I was standing in the middle of nowhere with my loaded gun resting on my shoulder and my head slightly tilted backwards as I stared up at a crooked old shed. The houses around these parts were either burnt to crips or torn down and this little shed was buried pretty deep in. It took a while to get here, but the distance didn’t drain my excitement.

Just as Lucas said, Kasan had taken me with him. I was skeptical at first because it was kinda odd but here I am, on some badass mission to catch the nightwalker person. Lucas was by my side too, which I was happy about. Today, we’d find the bitch that shot him then we’d tear him apart together.

That is what I’d call bonding.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” I asked Lucas for the umpteenth time since we had set out. Kasan scoffed at that, but I ignored him. “You could stay in the car if you want. You don’t need to listen to everything Kasan says.”
