Isabella's POV

I wait while we are alone outside. Dante is busy training with his men, and it's only my father standing there with me. He hands me the gun that we purchased yesterday. Now that it is going to start to be my training right now, I have to admit I am a little bit afraid of the gun. But I know I need to do this. I do not feel like I want to train with the weapon. However, I cannot leave my father and Dante down. I look up at my father, and he looks at me.

"I can see there is something wrong, baby girl. What do you want to talk to Daddy about?" My father asks.

"Do you think that I am ready to get married? I have been very confused lately. I do not know if I am prepared to give merit, and I do not want Dante to think that I am not already. I want him to see that I still want to be independent. I do not wish for Dante to feel like that. I want to be independent and without him. I want him to know I want to be there for him as he is there for me. And we cannot be without each

  • The Don’s unexpected fiancée.   You trumped her!

Dante's POV"I have the most clever father-in-law in the world. Not only did you get rid of her, but you also ensured that she would not be bothering any married man in the future. I bet she is running straight to her father, asking him to come here and talk to us. Well, that was a bit of drama we didn't need, but now that we're at war with the cartel and the street gangs, it was a little entertaining. I must admit, I found it quite amusing. Your daughter takes a lot after you because she's so right through the little act of that woman," Dante says. "Okay, back to business. First of all, you made an awful decision to go out there on your own. But I am glad that you saved Mary. And I'm pleased that you have started the war. But actually, it was not you, because they started the war by going to Don's house. Isabella, I do not want you to take any more such chances. Next time, if you cannot reach us, at least try to contact Tony or someone else. And don't tell me you couldn't get hold

  • The Don’s unexpected fiancée.   Stop acting!

Isabella's POV"Donna Romani, why did you push me? Ouch, my angle, I cannot stand up," She says. I roll my eyes and start clapping my hands. Her tricks might have worked on her father and mother in the past, and perhaps she was a little spoiled. Maybe she thinks my father and Dante will come running to help her. She wants to blame me for something she did to herself. And I don't believe that her leg is hurting at all. I am fresh from a war, and the adrenaline is still pumping through my veins. The last thing I wanted was to fight with Donna of the Italian Mafia. I am not going to fight another woman over my husband, but she is attacking me and was talking trash about me. I bend over, grab her by her arm and pull her up. It happened so fast that she had to stand on both feet."Wow, look, it's a miracle you can stand on your legs. Next time you want to fall over and pretend that it is somebody else who hurt you, you'd better act better. The old little tricks might have worked with your

  • The Don’s unexpected fiancée.   Don't mess with me!

Isabella's POV"Oh, the orphan is pregnant. I wonder if Dante knows if it is his child or not. She was living in a particularly rough part of town. She grew up in an orphanage, so I don't know if the child is Don Angelo's child," Antionette says. "Excuse me, were you talking about me. I may have grown up in an orphanage, but I have morals, and I have better morals than you do, who are openly flirting with a married man. I swear one more word out of your awful mouth and I am going to slap it shut. I had had about enough of you. I don't even know who you are, and I don't believe you're here to help with the war. I can't see you as a Donna who can fight. I believe you are here to look for a husband and nothing else. I am sorry, but my husband is taken. We are happily married. And believe me, Dante knows it is his child," I say. "Dante, if I were you, I would do a paternity test. I do not believe that the child is yours. I do not believe that anybody believes it. And the only way for yo

  • The Don’s unexpected fiancée.   Why did you put yourself in danger?

Dante's POVWe are in the godfather's office, discussing what we are going to do. Donna Antoinette Moretti from the Moretti family is driving me up the wall. She keeps touching my arm or hand, and I don't like it. I am a married man. I respect my marriage. Unlike some Dons who might have a few mistresses, I am loyal to my wife. I keep trying to get away from her, and my father-in-law must find it very amusing, because I can see the smile on his face. Many of these Donnas do not respect my wife because they think that she fell into the Italian Mafia because of her father, and that she seduced me by pretending to save my life. Or that is the story that is circulating. I have heard them all before, and I am not impressed. I dislike the way people think around here."If that woman is going to touch me one more time, I am going to slap her," I whisper to my father-in-law. "It is because they are underestimating my daughter. I do not like the way that they disrespect her. However, it's not

  • The Don’s unexpected fiancée.   Helping Mary.

Isabella's POVWe sneak into the garage and see that there is a door attached to the garage. I nod to Carlos, indicating it's time to start his show. Carlos goes to the front door. He knocks on the door and starts calling for Mary, and he sounds like Tommy used to sound. I can't hear muffling in the kitchen, so we know exactly where they are. I know where the kitchen is, and I know where the back door is. My other men are waiting at the back door in case some of these people try to escape. "Mary, are you here? I've been looking for you, honey," Carlos says. I heard the muffling sounds coming from the kitchen again. And I think it's because whoever is in the kitchen with Mary is keeping her mouth shut, which is a good thing. After all, I think Mary would have screamed if she had felt Tommy was still alive. How the hell is he still alive when she saw him being fed to the sharks? "Tommy! We were looking for you. It is I, Manuel. I'm glad you're okay. We thought that you might have been

  • The Don’s unexpected fiancée.   We are going to help Mary.

Isabella's POV"Carlos, bring all the men that we have here at home. We have to go and help Mary. It does not help me call my father or Dante. They are busy with other things. And it is already late. I do not believe that they will be home before Mary gets hurt. We have no other choice. We will have to go and help her. This is our time to shine. I know you do not want me to get involved in a war, but the street gangs or the cartel are at Mary's uncle's and aunt's house. We are her only hope of surviving this," I say as I grab my gun and jacket. "But Donna, the Don told us not to let you out of the house," Carlos says. "I am your Donna. When the Don is not here, you have to listen to me. We have to go and help her. We cannot waste any time. See if you can get my husband or father on the phone. Tell them where we are heading. Inform them that I instructed you to accompany me, and that it is a direct order from me. It is a command from me to you," I say. "Yes, Donna," Carlos says. He
