Confession

Carol then froze when she realized that Cassy had said The legendary mage and not a legendary mage, but Paige didn't know that The legendary mage existed, so she asked her puzzled, "Do you know anything about The legendary mage… Cassy, very few people know of his existence, it's been a long time since the mark of the pentacle appeared and many people have forgotten about him."

Cassy didn’t know what to do but she was really scared right now so she said to her, "I have something to confess to you but first I want to know why your family seems to know about this mark and The legendary mage?"

Carol didn't hesitate for a second, after all Cassy was indeed The legendary mage, no one could imitate this mark and she had already proven to her that she possessed extraordinary powers, so she told her, "My family isn’t from Astoria, nor is my husband's for that matter, we are both from a world called Spartia, and both of our families are very old families that participated in the last war to save humanity from the dominance of the demon god."

Carol smiled at her and then said to her, "It's kind of a long story so let me give you the short version. My husband and I fled to Astoria so we could get married and start our family away from all the political issues of Spartia.

If I had stayed in Spartia I would have had to marry someone else so running away was the only way we have found to be together, and beleive me, I have never regretted my choice, not even for a second."

Cassy smiled, and Carol told her, "Even if you weren't The Legendary Mage, I would have offered you to stay with my family, as I've already told you my husband can protect you while your powers will develop, but of course it's up to you Cassy, you don't have to stay with us if you don't want to."

Cassy finally let go of her wrist and decided to follow her instinct to trust Carol and Paige, so she motioned for Carol to sit next to them and she confessed to her, "I need you to keep a very open mind because even I didn't know that was possible."

She then said to her, "I’m 18 years old and my name is Cassy, but I’m not from this world either. My world is called Aurora and the practice of witchcraft or magic as you call it here is forbidden in my world.

I was raised by the oldest and most powerful line of wizards of Aurora, and even in my family my gifts have always made me special. I can already summon two different flames. The white flame which serves me mainly for two things, thanks to it I can accelerate the growth of plants and visibly increase their quality, and I can also heal any kind of injury with both humans and animals. And the red flame which represents the element of fire, I have total control over this element and I can use it at will."

Cassy paused to show them what she meant and she closed her eyes to summon her red flame. Once it appeared in her mind she opened her eyes again and she first conjured flames in her hand that she made dance, then she changed them into a ball of fire that she made grow until it reached the size of a basketball.

When she saw their stunned look, she decided to stop her demonstration and she made her fireball disappear.

She took advantage of the fact that she had summoned her red flame to dry herself off and then she continued her explanation, now that she had started she might as well go all the way, "That's not all though, if I focuse on people I can see the aura around them. Not everyone has one, but the ones I have seen have always belonged to wizards, and I also have visions. My visions are usually a warning to save lives, but my mother scared that I might kill myself trying to save a stranger's life finally sealed off what wizards in my world call the Third Eye."

Carol exclaimed then, "Cassy, darling, it's impossible to seal off the third eye, the seal your mother used probably blocked your gifts for a while, but it's double-edged because your third eye must have stored a lot of energy and I'd rather not even imagine what happened to you if the seal has been broken."

Cassy looked at her stunned, would the fever she had had come from that ... From the fact that the third eye shouldn’t have been sealed?

She said to her because it didn't matter anyway, she was in this world now and she would probably never see her family again. She preferred not to think about it too much for the moment and what she needed right now was Carol's explanation, "The seal has been broken when I was watching a solar eclipse and I was indeed invaded by a flood of visions more apocalyptic than the others.

At the same time, I caught a fever unknown to my world and I must have died because right after this stream of visions I heard a voice in my head, and then I found myself in the body of this girl who was drowning in the river... The rest you already know."

Carol then asked her to be sure she understood, because if The legendary mage had been sent to her it was necessarily for a good reason, "So if I understand correctly, your soul transmigrated into our world just after you heard a voice in your head and it was after your stream of visions right?"

Cassy nodded and Carol expressed her doubts, "It's strange that you transmigrated to Astoria, it would have made more sense for you to transmigrate into a body that was in Spartia directly... Do you remember your visions and what that voice told you, maybe the answer to your transmigration to Astoria is in this message."

Cassy nodded again and told her, "I remember everything, the voice said, ‘Find the golden dragon, find the seven power stones and forge a weapon that can destroy the demon god.

The golden dragon is the only one who can stand up to the demon god but he is not powerful enough.

He needs your help, you The legendary mage, his soul mate, and he needs this weapon to fulfill his destiny and save us all.’"

And Carol then understood immediately, the voice had said 'find the golden dragon', it could only mean one thing and that was that the reincarnation of the golden dragon must be on Astoria too and that Cassy was the key to finding him.
