***TRIGGER WARNING******RAPE*** Novalie POV The flight back to Midnight Moon seemed alot shorter than the flight to school now that the four of us were talking and getting along again. I had become accustomed to Eddie's relationship with Abby and I was happy that he was happy with her. We landed to find Beta waiting for us to take us home. We laughed and joked the whole car ride there, excited to be home for the holiday. I had missed Aunt Marianne's cooking so much, and was excited that she would soon be cooking us a large Thanksgiving feast. When we got to the packhouse we all jumped out of the car, and I grabbed my bags from the back before hauling them down to my little basement room. Aunt Marianne was still in the kitchen cleaning up after dinner, so after I sat my stuff down I went to see if I could help her. "Hey lovey, welcome home! I missed you! How's the hand?" She gripped me in a tight hug as she spoke. "It's good! I'm good. I missed you too. I missed your cooking m
Xavier POV As we pulled up to the Midnight Moon packhouse and got out of the car, Lunar was instantly on alert telling me that something wasn't right. I relayed the message to my parents and our Gamma, Peter who had been waiting at the jet for us. I watched as all their eyes glowed momentarily before subsiding, telling me that their wolves were alert and just below the surface. When we walked into the packhouse the air was electric and full of anger. Not just any anger, no there was pure Alpha rage radiating through the house, and not an Omega, or any other wolf in sight which was strange considering that it was only 9pm on a Friday night. Alpha Eduardo came out of a hallway to greet us, with his Luna following close behind. "Alpha Henry, Luna Anne, Xavier, to what do we owe the pleasure of this surprise visit?" Alpha Eduardo asked cheerily, but his spiked heart rate told me that he was internally panicking at our surprise arrival. Before Henry could explain the reason for our vis
Novalie POV I woke up startled and afraid for what the guards had in store for me, so I kept my eyes closed and pretended to be asleep for a while as I listened to what was happening around me. The first thing I noticed was the smell, and I knew I wasn't in the dungeons anymore. I guess they had beat me so bad that I needed to come to the pack hospital to be taken care of as I recognized the beeping of the machines and the smell of different cleaners. I had to calm my heart rate as the door to my room creaked open and heavy footsteps shuffled in. Then I was hit with the scent of Sandalwood and Cedar with just a hint of peppermint and my body and mind instantly calmed, allowing me to crack open my swollen eyes. "Nova, you're awake finally. Don't try to talk or move. Your jaw has been wired shut to heal, and you have quite a few fractured ribs. But you're safe now, and you're going to be OK." Xavier bent down to my eye level as he spoke softly to me, gently brushing my hair out of my
Xavier POV It was a few days after Nova's freak out when the doctors finally said we could take her to her room in the packhouse. She had had to be sedated that day, and ever since she'd just been quiet and uninterested no matter how much I tried to engage her. I could tell she liked watching the snow fall outside though so I sat there quietly in her room, regardless of whether she wanted me to or not. The doctors had said that being here where she belonged was helping her heal quicker, and that they weren't sure but they thought being near Lunar helped too, so I was there, in her room, everyday. All of her other fractures had healed, and they had taken another x-ray before we left this evening to check the status of her jaw. She had healed significantly over the past two weeks. Her swelling and bruising was gone, all her fractures except her jaw had healed, and if it wasn't completely healed already, her jaw wouldn't be far behind. I was excited for her to see her room on the Alpha
Novalie POV Being stuck in that hospital bed had made me so depressed. I was even getting frustrated having Xavier around all the time because what was the point really? It wasn't like I could communicate with him. It wasn't until I got released from the pack hospital and was able to step outside that I started feeling hopeful about the future again, but even then I wasn't sure about my new place here at Hidden Woods. My new father had barely come to see me, and when he did he barely ever said anything, always speaking more to Xavier than he did me. But, I got dressed and left with my new family anyway, because what else was I going to do? As we walked along the streets of what Xavier had told me was only one of the little towns within the pack borders, I was in awe. The snow crunched beneath my feet and the cold air nipped at my exposed skin. I had never really been outside of the packhouse at Midnight Moon, so I wasn't really aware of how much of a community a pack should be. Sure,
Novalie POV They all left me to my own devices in my new room and I couldn't have been happier. They had all gone down to dinner, but since I couldn't eat or talk they allowed me to stay behind and get used to my new bedroom. I sat down on my bed before stretching out to lay across it. So this is what having a real home and family felt like? I had so many cool new things to explore that I was kinda overwhelmed by it all. Shortly after I laid down several text messages dinged on my phone. They were all from 'Dad' so I opened them to find several different messages......012476-Your security code. It's your mother's birthday, Marianne gave it to me. This code will get you into every secure door in the packlands. Alphas have full access. ... Tomorrow we need to get you a pack ID, what time would you like to go? ... Also, there's juice smoothies in your mini fridge and some in the refrigerator as well. Straws should be on top of the mini. Anne says there's bone broth in the kitchen frid
Xavier POV Nova and I spent the next week binge watching 'Game of Thrones' because she had never had the time or ability to watch it before. Once I turned it on though, she was glued to the TV. We did our school work while we watched, and since Nova would start Alpha classes next term, she had a whole semester's worth of general Alpha classes to catch up on before Christmas. But, being the little genius she is, she flew through them. All of the Alpha classes are done over a website the school uses, so once her books and all the paperwork with her login for the Alpha Portal on the website came, she got to work completing assignments. I was surprised at how quickly she moved through her assignments, and when I told her I was here if she needed any help, she laughed and sent me a text telling me that most of this was common sense. By the time Monday morning rolled around she had completed all of her assignments for all of her Alpha classes that she had to make up to resume in Alpha co
Novalie POV My phone started buzzing as the sun was coming up, so I grabbed it to see who could possibly be calling me that early in the morning. It was Alana, at approximately 6:45am. I answered the phone with a groggy hello, and she told me to meet her in the great room in fifteen minutes so we could start my training regimen. I agreed and hung up the phone before rolling over to see Xavier passed out in my green armchair that he had pulled next to the bed. I let out a silent giggle as I got up to get dressed. I put on the dark green yoga capris and matching sports bra top, grabbing a zipper hoody from the hanger because there was a slight chill in the Alpha apartment this morning. I unzipped it and pulled it over my shoulders as I grabbed a pair of matching tennis shoes from the shoe shelf and put them on. I silently made my way back out into the bedroom and grabbed my phone off the charger before exiting the bedroom as quietly as I could. As I undid my braid to put my hair in a
