MAYA'S POV
"You have to get married to Alpha Victor of the Bloodfang Pack. A peace treaty has been signed already and you have to go there for us to prevent the war that will come if you don't, " Alpha Caleb ordered, my eyes widening in surprise on hearing him talk.
"A marriage? " I asked him. When he called me to come to his office, I thought it was because he had work for me to do, but marriage wasn't what I was expecting at all. "I'm sorry Alpha, I can't accept your order, "I dared to say, knowing full well the implications that my refusal would bring, not to the pack, but to me as an Omega who rejected Alpha's order.
"And why can't you do that? " He asked, disgust laced in his voice. I was pretty sure that he was having a hard time having me in the same room as he was, let alone speaking with me.
"I am just seventeen, Alpha, I'm not yet fit to get married. Besides, you want me to get married to Alpha Victor, it's like sending me to my death, " I explained, praying silently that my reasons were enough to convince him.
It was no news to anyone that Alpha Victor was a monster, the young cold-hearted Lycan Alpha of the Bloodfang Pack who had brought up his pack to the highest it could reach, ranking it the biggest and most feared pack among all werewolf's pack. As for me, I couldn't get married to someone like that, it wasn't the type of marriage I had planned out for myself.
" Then, die, " Alpha Caleb said suddenly and I raised my head to look at him, my brows creased in confusion. Is he telling me to die? " If you have to die to keep the pack safe, then die. We're in the middle of a war and I am preoccupied with so much. You don't expect me to care if you're not comfortable with your marriage when you're trying to save us all, do you? " He snapped at me and as much as I tried not to, my eyes became teary.
What was I expecting? That he would give a fuck about me? It was so obvious, he needed a scapegoat and I was the only one available for use. All the other Omegas were either too old or ugly. I appreciated my beauty as I thought it was the only thing I had, but now it was more of a curse than a blessing to me.
" Alpha….., " I tried to say, but he was quick to shut me up, banging the table as his eye colour changed.
" You will do as I've ordered, " his voice boomed in the room, making me bow my head, baring my neck in submission. I guess I'm getting married. " You're to get married to Alpha Victor on the next full moon. A wedding won't be necessary. Just take your things and move in with him, " he said, this time more calmly as he managed to control his wolf. He dismissed me with a wave and I knew I no longer had a say in it.
Walking out of his office, I went outside the packhouse, into the woods I observed my surroundings. I took a seat on a log of wood, heaving out a sigh as I thought of so many things.
I never knew my parents, I heard that they died when I was five and I have no memories of them, but still blame them for my misfortune. I heard they were very comfortable, as my dad worked as a pack warrior and my mum was a nurse. When they died, Alpha Caleb took the house they built, coveting it to himself.
Ever since then, I became an Omega, having nothing to my name. I had to tend to the higher-ups who didn't give a shit about me and treated me like a slave. Now, they're selling me to the Bloodfang Pack just to save their asses, I felt used. All my efforts were for nothing and at last, I was to be thrown away.
The most annoying fact was that the next full moon was tomorrow, or should I say in less than twelve hours?
" What are you doing, sitting here alone? " Julia, my best friend and the only person who I felt cared about me came, looking at the sky as she sat beside me. I turned to look at her, smiling softly as an idea popped into my head.
" Julia, should we run away? " I asked all of a sudden without thinking, causing her to look at me, furrowing her brows.
" Huh? ".
" I mean, let's run away. Let's leave everything behind, leave the pack without anyone knowing and run away from everything, " I elaborated and she snorted, shaking her head and she looked back at the sky.
" And go where? Do you have a destination in mind? Or do you plan on becoming a rogue? That would bring us to our death more quickly than we think, " she stated, and as much as I would love to argue further, she was right. We were Omegas, we had no money, no connections, and the only thing we could do was to become rogues. But, I still believed that the unreasonable marriage would lead to my death more quickly than anything.
" But, why did you suddenly think of that? " She asked, turning to look at me again and I shrugged, unsure if I should tell her or not.
" I'm getting married tomorrow or should I say I'm going to be sold to the Bloodfang Pack in exchange for a peace treaty? " I answered. She was going to find out anyway there was no point in hiding it from her. She shot up from her seat suddenly, as if her buttocks were on fire.
" What? " She yelled, her eyes widened as she began pacing to and fro, making me dizzy as I had to watch her. I was the one in this situation, but she was taking it more seriously. " Was this Alpha Caleb's order? " I nodded and she sighed. I could understand her, no one could go against his orders, especially the Omegas.
" What's your plan? " She asked again, sitting down a few minutes later and I bit my lower lips, tilting my head. To be honest, I hadn't even thought of that. I just wanted to get away from everything. I shook my head in response, causing her to scowl at me.
" Hey, what are you two doing there? " We heard Beta Justin yell and we looked at each other before running away, as fast as we could to avoid being caught.
**
" Please, forgive me, " I pleaded on my knees, tears rolling down from my eyes as I rubbed my palms together. I had woken up a little too late today, missing preparing breakfast for the higher-ups.
That had gotten Luna Barbara very furious to the extent that she sent me to the dungeon as my punishment, even though I was getting married today.
A silver chain was used to bind my hands together, burning my flesh. I couldn't move as my legs had been chained to the floor with a silver chain too. I didn't have a wolf yet, so I had no power to ease the pain. The more I stayed there, the more my energy got drained and the weaker I became.
The cell gate opened and Alpha Caleb came inside the tiny, dirty cell that reeked of urine and blood, holding a whip as he smirked evilly at me. Tears rolled down my eyes as I imagined what he was going to do with me, not knowing if I could take it. My energy was getting weak each passing day without my wolf and I didn't know how much longer I could last.
The first whip came and a yelp left my lips as my back stung. Without any care, another came and another and another until I couldn't take it anymore.
Not caring about the burning sensation I felt in my legs and wrist from the effect of the silver, I got on my knees, rubbing my palms together as I pleaded for freedom.
That made him more furious as he stretched out his hands and fire shot out from it, coming in my direction. I screamed out in pain and agony as the fire came in contact with my sides, burning a portion of it.
Tears continued to fall from my eyes, blood was dripping from my back, my sides were stinging from the fire and my legs and hands were burning. There was only one thing left for me to do and I did that without any hesitation.
"Take her to her room and tell Julia to clean her up. The Bloodfang's people will be here in two hours, at least, I have made her very prepared as Alpha Caleb instructed "this was the last thing I heard before giving in to darkness.
MAYA'S POVMy eyes fluttered open, but I had to close it back due to the intensity of the light. I opened it back, adjusting my eyes to the light. I tried to sit up, but winced in pain, laying down back. That was when the memories of what happened earlier came rushing into my head.I remembered the last word I heard before going unconscious. Alpha Victor, the man, or monster that I was supposed to get married to had instructed Alpha Caleb to prepare me by wounding me, breaking me to the point that my body felt unrecognisable.Being without a wolf has made me weak enough, we haven't even met, yet he has taken advantage of my weakness and destroyed me. What is going to happen when we get married? My eyes watered at the thought of that, marriage to the Alpha of the Bloodfang Pack was impossible, but I had no option, I had been given an order and unless I wanted to be killed, I had to comply. But that didn't mean that I didn't hate him, I hated him, I hated the thought of him, I hated the
VICTOR’S POVI watched as the girl that the Moonfire Pack brought as my wife fell and I was quick enough to catch her in my arms, seeing her go unconscious. I immediately mind-linked the pack doctor before taking her to my room, Gabriel and the girl she came with following me behind. She was too frail and felt weightless in my hands.I dropped her on my bed and realised that she was bleeding as my arms were covered with blood from her back. I raised her top, only to see several scars, both old and new on her body. There were new and fresh wounds that were badly stitched and bleeding. The sight wasn't something I could withstand. The pack doctor quickly came inside, rushing to her side on sighting her. She began to tend to her wounds, stitching them up well. After she was done, she did some check-ups on her and gave her some medicine before cleaning the blood off her." Alpha, she is malnourished and weak. She has a few broken bones and I don't sense much energy coming from her. It se
We stayed like that for a while until I recollected myself and pushed him away, making him hit buttocks on the floor. My eyes widened in surprise, I had just kissed a man I barely knew and that was because I couldn't control myself. I felt strange. What just happened? " What did you do to me? " I asked him, standing up from the bed as I began to panic. This wasn't a simple thing, I wasn't undergoing heat, there was no way I would have felt like that for someone I didn't even like. " Alpha Victor, what did you do to me? " I asked again and this time around, he raised his head to look at me, his lips curved up into a devilish smirk. " I didn't take you to be that easy, Maya. Though, being a wolfless Omega has its perks. You're not only an Omega, you're wolfless and useless and you think you could come here to act like my wife? " He asked, raising his voice slightly. " I have told you that I was forced to come here, I had no other choice and death was the only option, " I tried to ex
I opened my eyes as I regained consciousness. My head was throbbing and I groaned in pain, trying to sit up, but my hands were chained to the wall. I tried to wriggle off of the chains, but the more I did, the more my wrists burned, the chains were coated with silver.I tried to remember how I got here, but my head was blank. I knew this wasn't the Moonfire Pack as these dungeons were bigger and scarier. But I couldn't remember what I did that made me end up in this place, again. The cell gate opened and Alpha Victor came into view. I raised my head to look at him, only to see him smiling devilishly at me." You're awake, I see, " he stated, bending down to my position. That was when I remembered all that happened, me trying to escape, him catching me and throwing me off the building." You pushed me off the building, " I pointed out, but he only shrugged at me, trying to act oblivious." You tried to escape from me and no one does that, ever, " he replied and I scoffed, not seeing ho
I tried to hug her, but she winced at the attempt, so I released her and gently helped her sit on the bed. Her body was covered in a mosaic of cuts, inflicted by claws and knives, and I knew that those wounds would leave lasting scars, just like the ones I carried. "I'm so sorry, Julia. I didn't realize that my actions would result in this," I apologized, tears streaming down my face. "What are you doing here?" she asked, brushing aside my apology. I wiped my tears, mustering a soft smile for her. "This is my new room. A guard brought me here," I replied, and she furrowed her brow, a look of utter confusion crossing her face. "Why is this your new room? You're married to Alpha Victor. Shouldn't you be staying in his house?" she queried, her voice filled with genuine bewilderment. I shrugged, at a loss for how to answer her probing questions. "I don't think Alpha Victor acknowledges our marriage. He believes that Alpha Caleb sent me here to spy on him and the Pack. So, he won't tre
' What does he want this time around? ' I stood up from the bed and made to walk out of the room, but Julia held my hands and I looked at the guard, who was still waiting for me. She made a sign to me and I instantly understood what she meant. " Can you please wait for me outside? Five minutes is enough, " I pleaded, clasping my hands together. He looked at me and then at Julia and let out a sigh before leaving the room. " What's wrong? Why did you hold me like that? Is there something you want to say? Or am I missing something? " I questioned her, sitting down beside her. " I just wanted to tell you something before you go and didn't want to say it while he was here, " she explained and I nodded, taking her hands in mine. " You have to be careful, this isn't the Moonfire Pack and I believe these people are more cruel than them, " she expressed her thoughts and I nodded again agreeing with her. " To be honest, I prefer the Moonfire Pack to this place. This place is scary, " I wh
" Alpha Victor, " I called out, but was ignored as he walked out of the office. I closed my eyes, for fear that he would drop me, but he began to walk downstairs.I hid my face in his chest in case someone passed. The last thing I wanted was to be reprimanded by the pack members for trying to seduce their Alpha because I knew he wouldn't care to correct their thoughts. After all, I was a weak and pathetic Omega who couldn't even walk.We got out of the house, but he kept walking. My legs were fine already, they weren't trembling anymore. I tried to tell him to put me down so I could walk back to the Omega's house, but strangely, I wasn't able to talk. It was like they were sealed and I knew it was his doing. We got to the front of the Omega's house, and prayed that he wouldn't take me inside. Fortunately, he stopped walking and put me down, pink color creeping
MAYAThe loud ringing of a bell was what woke Julia and I this morning. I looked at the old clock on the wall and realized that it was five o'clock, the time Sarah told us we were to wake up.Julia and I immediately got out of bed and took our clothes before heading to the bathroom. We both gasped at the line of ladies who were waiting to take their bath and the bathroom was just two stalls. We fell in line since we knew that reporting to the kitchen without taking our bath would result in a grave punishment from the chefs. The Moonfire Pack had taught us enough of that and we wouldn't want to make the same mistake in this pack.We ended up going to work late as we were the last set to take our bath and by the time we got to the kitchen, the breakfast we were supposed to have had finished. Which meant that there was no breakfast for us and we had to wait till
