Chapter 49
Sam was awakened by the icy wind that blew into her face. She slowly opened her eyes and saw the moon and bright stars shining in the sky.
She was taken aback as realization dawned on her when she recalled what happened earlier. Her heart suddenly raced. She anxiously got up and found out that her hands and feet were tied up.
“Where am I?” She was baffled where she was and who brought her there.
She looked around her but she could not reckon where she was as darkness filled her sight. She only noticed that she was in an open area with a field of grass where she was sitting.
Then from a distance, she heard a burst of scornful laughter, echoed into her ears, piercing the silence of the night.
She hastily turned around to see who the person was.
