Chapter Three

I got to hand it to Corby for booking me a first class ticket. I thought I had to worry about cramping myself up in commercial and finding it hard to sleep. I hardly sleep in a crowded place. Not that I have the guts to be picky. If I had been booked for commercial, I would've gone, still.

I placed my bag in the compartment above me before sliding into the chair next to the window. The plane was not yet about to leave so I sent a quick text to Corby saying I just got on board the plane and then sent a message to Kay telling her to wish me luck.

The flight attendant passed by my seat and I smiled up at her. She gave me an uncomfortable nod of her head before scurrying off. I glared around me before opening the compartment in front of me. In it was a eye wear for sleeping and ear plugs.

I was just about to get into the mood of snuggly do-do when a young man sat next to me. By God!, I'm happy I wasn't yet sleeping or I would've snored the hell out of him. I stared at him from the corner of my eyes and he was looking straight ahead of him.

I thought about saying hi since he'd be my seat mate for the five hours and forty four minutes flight to Florida. The pilot announced we were taking off so I quickly slipped the eye wear into my hands in case I needed it in a few minutes cause I sure as hell will need it.

The flight attendant from before rolled a trolley to where we sat, I stared up at her as she widened her eyes when she saw the stranger seating by him. No doubt he's handsome but I'm too much of a bitch or a coward to look at him. I will eventually, maybe when he's asleep.

"What drink would you like, please" The attendant said.

"Pinot noir"

"Pinot noir". I and the man both answered at the same time.. I stared at him for the first time since he sat down. He was attractive but so not my style. He had a blonde hair and wears khakis. He's cute but I'll sooner the Atlantic Ocean dries up before I take a liking to another blonde guy in my entire life. I had enough of so many Blakes for once in my life.

He smiled at me and I returned it back only slightly uncomfortable.  I looked over at the attendant and she was already pouring our drinks into a flute.

"Would you also like breakfast? Or would you have it later?"

"No breakfast for me" I said and looked out the window. We were soaring high in the clouds and I wished I could reach down and touch the fluffy looking clouds but there was a glass and clouds are made of water not cotton candy.

"Just the wine is fine. Thank you" The man said. The attendant handed us both our drinks before rolling away. I gulped mine in a rush and set the glass down.

"Do you mind if I close the curtains?" I asked him. He took the time to turn away from his drink and stared at me,  lookinf from the window to me.

"It's cool. I intend to pass out in a few" He said so I quickly shut the curtain together, put on the eye wear and the ear plugs before resting my head back against the head of the chair.

...

I wheeled my box towards the express way. I called an uber a minute ago and I'm still here standing by the side walk. I glanced at my wrist-watch to see it was past one. Five minutes ago, I was slumped against my chair sleeping.

I noticed the stranger from the plane walking toward me only now, he had a man in suit and dark shades following right behind him. So what if he's a rich guy. He's still a blonde. I released an air against the strand of hair that fell to my face, but it didn't move much like in the movies though.

"You need a ride?" He called out to me. I'm sure he's talking to me cause we're the only ones on this sidewalk right now.

I made a face before turning to him. "No thank you. I called an uber some minutes ago and I'm sure it'll be here soon" With that, I started pulling by box so I was walking away from the stranger.

I took a peep behind me and saw him get into a jeep before driving off. Good riddance. He's a nice man for asking me if I needed a ride and also for being nice to me In the plane but he had a blonde mop on his head . You can call it Blonde-phobia.

Even my dad was a blonde. All the men I ever had in my life were blondes. It's like a blonde fever following me everywhere I go.

I took my eyes off the ground to look at the car approaching me.

...

I removed my phone from airplane mode and then went straight to my email to check for messages. There's not a day I don't have emails. When that day comes, there's going to be a black sun. There were many business mails. Some I'm sure are asking about the products. So I went straight for Kays email instead.

Kay-

Make sure you call me when you arrive Florida. Also, Michelle is going nuts here. I think someone piped it to her that you took on an assignment.

Stupid Michelle. She alway feels she's superior in everything.

"Just take me straight to the Chesterfield palm Beach hotel" I told the uber driver.

My fingers dialed Corbys line immediately and I waited for him to pick up. He did on the first ring.

"I take it you've arrived safely" Came his voice. I folded my arms and looked out the window at all the palm trees we passed by. I could see the beach a far way from the road. Now I could breath in fresh air. The fresh breeze of Florida.

"I'm on my way to the hotel. Thanks for first class, Corby"

"You're on an assignment for the company so it funded you sweetheart" He said. Oh.

"Thanks anyway"

"So have you got any rearrangement in the schedule?"

"No. Just stick with the plan I gave you. Tonight, you'll be meeting Fabrico's PA. I'm sure she'll be wanting to know about so many things"

The sight of the hotel coming into view made me smile. It's so pretty and like a royal beach house you find in only those movies where two people fall in love.

"I'm here. I'll call you back when I get settled in. Also, this hotel is marvelous" I praised. I know it was Corby who picked out the hotel even though the company is funding me.

"Only the best for out workers now kick some Italian butts soon."

I chuckled as I hung up. The car came to a slow stop and I was hopping off the vechile.

...

I wasn't surprised to see a missed call from Blake when I stepped out of the shower. I frowned as I put my phone on silence mode. I only have two days to stay here in Florida before I go back to Seattle and we work through the phones, but I'm really happy to have a little space.

I slid into my underwear. A new cotton set I bought just a week ago. With my laptop in hand, I got into the bed for a short break before I have dinner with the PA of Fabrico.

My fingers pressed down on the buttons typing Fabrico Zunino Valenquez.

An image of him popped up first. The same Image Kay showed to me last night. I scrolled down to read more important deets like his age, color of his eyes, and if he has a spouse.

My network wavered cutting me off so I groaned. I need this information if I'm going to be meeting the man tomorrow. I need to know a lot about him. I slipped on the hotel white robe they keep for guests and walked to the patio with my laptop.  It was a beautiful view cause it overlooked the wide blue expanse of water and some palm trees littered about.

I set my laptop down on the patio table before drawing a stool to seat on. The network came back and I whooped with joy. The screen of my laptop flashed with the informations I needed to know.

Age: 30

Color of eyes: golden brown

Spouse: none.

None?!...not even a girlfriend? I figured a guy like him would even have a fiance. I scrolled down a bit more and came in contact with a news headline about him.

Billonaire Fabrico's Valenquez calls off his wedding party after he found his fiance cheating on him with his best friend.

What?..This blogger's a genius for getting a news like this. There's even a picture attached of a raven haired woman kissing a blonde guy. I couldn't see his face or the woman's face. Just them lip locked at a corner in a bistro restaurant. All these was a year ago.

Blondes!...I grimaced in disgust. Why must all blondes cheat.

I did get the name of the woman though. Fabrico Zunino's ex-fiance. Rose Hilliard.
