LOGINArianna’s life in the Moon Pack as a faithful heiress was just perfect until it was ruined by the betrayal that broke out during the Bonfire Festival which is the annual celebration of the pack’s unity. While running away, she inadvertently finds herself in the god of wolves’ territory where she meets Alpha Lucian, her destined mate, who is caught between the pact and fate, while his chosen bride Gia keeps dangerous secrets. The chaos that arises from the release of Arianna’s moon magic reveals the underlying plots of the conspirators and the turmoil that has rocked the wolf communities. Unexpected births create tensions, poison is used at social functions, and the ancient predictions are being contested by the warring packs. If the Moon Goddess is going to come down with a storm of curses and heirs, will love overpower loyalty? Or will it always be under the shadow of love?

“You called?” My guard, Derek, said as he entered the room. The scent of blood lingered in the air, he paced in front of me.
“Your father is in a meeting with the pack leaders,” he continued and tapped his foot.
“Urgh!” I said and folded my arms and stamped my feet. “He is always in a meeting. I need to tell him about something.”
Derek rolled his eyes and folded his hands. I turned my back as I paced back and forth. Everyday it is usually like this. I never get enough time with him from one pack meeting to another. Responsibilities that come with being an Alpha.
The bonfire festival is coming up, but there’s been a recent attack by some rogues.
“You always have something to tell your dad,” Derek said and headed towards the door of my room.
He is not allowed to stay in my room longer than necessary. He has been my personal guard since I was 5. I have two personal guards, Derek and Aaron.
I needed to figure out a way to meet Dad.
“Urgh!” I threw myself on the bed while Derek stepped out and closed the door. Maybe I should just assist with the Bonfire preparations.
“Let’s go to the town hall to help out with the preparations,” I said as I opened the door to meet Derek.
“Alright.”
By night fall the town hall glowed with firelight and shadows are dancing across the crowds. The scent of cinnamon and warm bread, laughter from the pops playing a little distance away. Men sitting in circles, sharing a drink. Years back I would play around while mum organized the hall. She died during the birth of my younger brother, Austin, Dad hasn't been the same since then.

The earth stuck to my feet as I ran, my lungs burned, branches clawed my arms. Behind me, the rogues howled, their snarls being heard in a distance, got closer with every heartbeat. The forest I used to go for a run to clear my head felt unsafe.
An hour ago, the air had been filled with music and laughter. The bon fireflames scattered the sky, howls echoed from the forest. The whole pack gathered in front of the town hall to celebrate the bonfire festival. Some wolves in human form, some shifted.
I stood near the fire, my dress touched the grass and heat from the fire warmed my face. I always feel at peace during the bonfire festival. My mum used to say if it goes smoothly, then the moon goddess is happy with them.
She was right.
The first scream cut through the celebration, followed by the sound of glass shattering. The firelight flickered, the rogues bursted from the treeline. Panic erupted. Wolves shifted mid air and growls were being heard.
“Take the pops on that wing, I will take care of this one,” I told Aaron, pointing towards the left side.
“Alright, Princess,” Aaron replied, shifted and ran towards the wing. He attacked a black wolf that's near one of the pops.
My heart thundered against my ribcage, breath quickened and shallow as I shifted and growled at a brown wolf, a few feet away.
I saw Derek run towards me, I nodded towards the pops. Then I pursued the brown wolf and tackled her to the floor. I felt a claw dig into my sides. The rogues outnumbered the pack. I ran towards the forest.
I saw my Dad and Austin being surrounded by seven big wolves. Austin and Dad are the strongest wolves in the pack, even with dad being old and prepared Austin to take over. This seemed like a not so random attack. That's all I saw before I entered the forest.
Now my steps felt heavier and screamed for relief. My vision is blurred, the growls are got closer. Hot breath brushed my heels as the rogues closed in, their claws tore through the underbrush, but my legs kept moving. I tripped, my knees hit hard on the dirt, pain shot up my legs.
Bones snapped and howls were heard, they were shifted back to human form. The last thing I saw was the pale shimmer of moonlight breaking through the trees, then everything went dark.
My eyes opened to the white ceiling and the sound of water dripping. It echoed against the stone walls. The air is damp, heavy with the scent of earth and ash. I tried to sit up right, but every nerve in my body tightened. I am on a narrow bed covered with ragged fur. The room was dimly lit by a bedside lamp on an uneven and rough rock, table and chair just opposite the bed side.
Fully seated, my heart skipped a beat and snapped my head to the side, I looked around. This place is not familiar, it's not my room or any place in the pack. The walls are not made of wood or plaster but carved from the mountain.
A prison.
I moved my feet to the ground, my legs trembled as I stood and my feet met the cold stone. I faced the window and turned to the heavy door at the far end. I wondered if my body could take me there without falling, but before I could decide the door creaked open.
Two men stepped inside.
The first, Light skin, tall and well-cut jet black hair. His aura is commanding, it filled the room with his presence. He took a few steps into the room, his eyes reflected gold in the firelight- Alpha eyes. The second follows closely behind, he is leaner but still feels intimidating. His gaze was sharp and scanned the room then me, from my feet to head.
There's silence in the room. The sound of water dripping is still being heard.
I rubbed my arms. I was raised by an Alpha and when mum died, Dad became deeply cold. I dropped my hands to the side, I don't want to show any sign of weakness.
The Alpha's chest raised with a slow inhale and his nostrils flared. He froze mid step. His eyes locked on me, widened slightly before he narrowed it.
The beta looked from me to his Alpha and back to me and raised a brow. I felt my wolf stir. The silence is thick, he parts his lips and one word
falls into the air, branding itself into my fate.
“Mate.”
Kael's POVThe familiar borders of the pack were coming into full view. It is dark, everywhere is quiet and only light from the guard at the borders. After driving for a few minutes, I picked up a faint scent of blood. My wolf howls and glances at my beta, he is dosing off completely unaware of what's happening. The partition stops me from viewing the faces of the guards. The car drives into the Alpha's house. I look at the surroundings I know all too well. I played here as a child, did training and now I get to stay here, but my dad doesn't stay here due to traditions. It's just I and the maids. The car halts in front of the house. The butler and the maids line, I highlight and bid my beta off. The smell of blood leap to my nose, stronger this time. My wolf howls and I stare at the maids, their heads low. As pure alpha blooded my senses are heightened. I look around and the smell doesn't seem to be coming from this side. “I need all the guards to be assembled right now.” I say. T
Kael's POV I let out a long sigh, leaning back into my seat seeking some sort of comfort within the leather. I stare at the polished table in front of me while beside me my knuckles are white from squeezing it. The chandelier above shows my reflection which is that of pure frustration. I want to drive my fist into one of these Alpha's faces, not minding the consequences, they are hiding something which is making my wolf very angry and threatening to take over but I control him. I am in the Alpha's council meeting with other Alphas and their betas in the northern territory, my beta is seated beside me and he releases a slight cough, something he does when everywhere is tense. I have reported the Moon's pack attack incident to the other Alphas but the conversation so far is going in a very different direction than I expected. It seems like I am the only Alpha missing something. The Alphas are murmuring in hush tones between themselves, some with their betas. Beside me, my Beta, shi
Arianna POV:Pam, Pam! There's a knock on the door. I look at the clothes that have been ripped on the floor. My mate begins to pace behind the desk, his hand dishevelling his hair.We have to think of something fast, as the scent of the heat is still in the air. It won't take her a second to know what happened here. Another knock comes, harder this time.“Kael?” Lucia asks behind the door. He looks calm or if he is scared he is definitely hiding it well. He swears softly and opens the windows. We hear voices but they are distant so they should not be able to get a view of the Alpha's office. My wolf stirs restlessly, especially from the bond that has been sealed between us. His gaze meets mine and lingers a bit. His silver eyes glow faintly in the dim light, a mark of the bond’s completion. “Stay here,” he murmurs, wearing a set of clothes he has in the office. He is half way through buttoning it then Lucia’s voice comes again, it sounds closer this time. “Are you in there? Is ev
Arianna's POV:My chest tightened as the woman placed a kiss on my mate. He didn't react, his face showed no expression. She spoke about a Luna ceremony, so he had a Luna, that's why he didn't acknowledge the mate bond or me.In cases where one partner has a chosen mate before meeting his fated mate. He rejects the fated mate on their first meeting. She left after she spoke about the Luna ceremony. She glanced at me before she left. The look was one of curiosity. It was either she didn't see me as a threat or she didn't know I was his fated mate. The thought made my wolf whimper. We haven't been noticed by our mate. The guard tugged the chain slightly which forced me to raise my face up. I stared into his brown eyes. They reminded me so much of my mum. I took her features but not her eyes. I found myself drowning in them until he spoke. “Release her.” The chain loosened, his aura was commanding and the urge to submit was strong but I needed to leave this pack. I didn't have a place
Kael's POV: My pulse quickened when I heard what my beta had said. I didn't leave the pack unprotected, but my mind went to the council members and the nursing mothers in the pack then my mate. I felt my wolf, Rowan, stirred. He was restless. The air suddenly felt too heavy and the space felt very tight. The colour of my eyes changed to gold, the colour of my wolf’s eyes. Derek stopped the car as he heard me growl. I stepped down and my bones snapped very quickly leaving no time to get off the clothes. I heard my beta's breath heavily, he shifted too.We raced through the woods, the trees appeared blurry as we passed. The familiar walls of the territory came into view, my stomach sank. There was a lot of movement along the borders- Guards, healers, scouts- almost every group from the pack were there. I could tell there was a lot of tension, considering my pack members were not aware of what's happened.I shifted back to human form. There's usually not the incident of attacks, even w
Kael’s POV:The office was quiet, stacks of reports spread across the heavy oak desk, half read. The faint scent of pine smoke from the fireplace lingered, mixed with ink and leather. The door opened wide as my beta, Dennis, walked in and banged it shut behind him. His steps hurried, he slammed his hands on my desk and removed strands from his face. I dropped the papers I held on top of my desk, to join with the rest scattered on the desk.“The elders council wants a meeting with you now,” he said. “They demand answers about the girl that was found at the borders.”I raised my brows and leaned back on the chair. Dennis is always tense with matters that concern the council because of how level headed they can be. My mind goes to the girl, her well structured face, green eyes and blonde hair. My mate. My wolf, Rowan, starts to get restless. Why did she have to come from the enemies pack? Tightened. my jaw, I stood to my feet. “Then let's go and not keep them waiting.” I dropped the p
