Rejection Can Kill

I stand frozen as Alpha Froylan and Former Alpha Jerson converse. My mind tears in two... should I escape or approach my mate?

My heart races with tangled emotions. Truthfully, I am scared. I have nowhere to go, no idea where I could spend the night. I only have the clothes on my back, no money, and I doubt anyone would help me.

I take a deep breath as I hear footsteps drawing near. I am hiding on the other side of the gate, unseen. Why of all places did my feet bring me here?

Would my mate even recognize me? What if he saw me in this state? He saw me just last week, and I looked even worse than I do now.

When Alpha Froylan passes through the gate, I catch a glimpse of his back as he walks away. But then, something shifts. He must have caught my scent because he immediately turns, his eyes widening in shock. His face is as striking as ever in the dim light, and shame burns through me at how I must look.

"Why are you here?" His voice startles me, and his eyes scan me from head to toe, stripping away what little confidence I have.

"I..." I falter, unsure of what to say. Does he even recognize me? "I was looking for my mate," I blurt out, hoping that will make him speak to me directly. I know he feels the bond, just like I do, even though I came here with no plan.

His expression flickers... worry, concern, maybe even something like love but in an instant, it vanishes as he hardens his features.

"Your mate isn't here," he says coldly, turning his back on me and walking away.

My heart shatters into a thousand jagged pieces as tears blur my vision. I expected rejection, but not like this... not this sharp, not this cruel.

"I know you're my mate. I know you feel it, too," I say, my voice trembling yet determined. Maybe, just maybe, I can change his mind. Maybe he will turn and claim me.

He faces me again, but only to crush that hope. "I am an Alpha, and I cannot have someone like you as my mate," he says, his voice dark and unyielding.

The words twist inside my chest, robbing me of breath. Of course... who would want me? I am nothing but a cursed child of the devil.

Tears stream freely down my face, but I force a smile through the pain. "I'm Vienna," I say, watching his eyes widen in surprise. He hadn't expected that.

To sever a mate bond, an Alpha must make a declaration.

His face becomes stone. "I, Alpha Froylan of Rigorou Mountain Pack, reject you, Vienna, as my mate."

The rejection rips through me like a thousand blades. My parents' cruelty was nothing compared to this.

"I... I accept your r-rejection," I manage between sobs. One last tearful glance—and I run.

I run blindly, deeper into the forest, tears blurring the world. My mate doesn't want me. Who ever would? I am nothing but a curse.

The thought of death lingers, heavy and dark. If I die, heaven and hell would both turn me away. No one has ever accepted me... maybe death will.

I stop at the edge of a cliff. The forest ends here. Before me, a waterfall crashes down into the churning waters below.

Night has fallen. The air is still, except for the roar of the falls. I sit at the cliff's edge and gaze up at the stars. The sky is beautiful... but tonight it feels like a mockery.

I lift my face to the Moon Goddess. "You are so unfair," I whisper. "How could you be so cruel to me? Am I not your daughter?" All werewolves are children of the Moon Goddess, created by her. "Then why did you abandon me?"

I hope she's listening. I never asked for riches or power... only love. But even my mate couldn't give me that.

Maybe in the afterlife, things will be different. I have nothing left to fight for. Even my wolf has abandoned me... I have never felt her presence, not once.

Nobody would care if I lived or died. Nobody would remember me. Yet... why do I still feel this faint urge to live? Is it only a cruel trick of my mind?

"Well, well. What a beautiful girl to be wandering alone in the dark."

I shot to my feet and turned, my heart slamming against my ribs. Three pale figures emerged from the shadows, their eyes gleaming unnaturally, their smiles exposing sharp fangs.

Vampires.

My pulse roared in my ears.

One of them laughed coldly, drinking in the fear on my face. "I love that look. So sweet. So terrified."

"Don't come near me!" I shouted, though my voice trembled. My feet backed away instinctively... until I felt the empty air of the cliff's edge at my heels.

"This will be a delicious dinner," another sneered, licking his lips.

The one in the middle sniffed the air, and his expression shifted, brows furrowed. "Wait... what are you doing here, girl?" He stepped closer, confusion shadowing his menace.

I stumbled back, panic clawing at my throat. "I—I just came out for air!" My voice cracked as I struggled against the grip that seized my arm like iron.

"Let's drain her and be done with it," the vampire to the right growled.

"Not yet," the leader snapped, his eyes narrowing at me with something that looked like disbelief. "She reeks of... royal blood."

My heart stuttered. Royal blood? Me? No, he had to be mistaken. I am nothing but a cursed slave.

"No... You're wrong," I spat, thrashing against his hold.

"I don't think so," he said darkly.

Before I could react, the other two lunged. Fangs pierced both sides of my neck, and my scream tore through the night.

Agony blazed through me, but then something even more terrifying happened... fire erupted beneath my skin... blue fire covered my entire body.

What's happening to me?

  • The Rejected Queen Luna's Revenge   His Death

    - Third Person's POV -The spear slipped from Aldrin’s bloodied hands, landing on the dirt with a dull thud. His chest rose and fell in heavy breaths, his eyes still locked on Neong’s crumpled body. His hands trembled, sweat dripping down his temples. He didn’t move. He couldn’t.The Beta staggered forward, his own body battered as blood soaking his shirt. But unlike Aldrin, he wasn’t frozen. He stood tall, steady, and his gaze stayed fixed on the fallen man.For a moment, silence swallowed the place. Just the dripping of blood echoed, falling steadily from the deep wounds carved into Neong’s chest and abdomen. His body twitched once… then fell completely still.Aldrin’s throat bobbed as he swallowed hard. His lips parted, but no words came out. His eyes darted to the Beta, like he was waiting for instructions. The Beta’s jaw tightened. His voice was low, but firm. “He’s already dead, we can’t leave him here.”Aldrin flinched, his hands clenching. “W-what do we do?”The Beta glared at

    - Neong's POV -All that I can see is red, and pain covers my body but all I could think of... is her.And then…FLASHBACKI was thirteen when my older brother disappeared without a trace. He was one year older than me, the crowned Alpha of the Rigador Pack. Father begged me to find him. None of us could accept his disappearance.I agreed. At such a young age, I set off on my journey. I faced every danger, battled countless creatures for days, and wandered through forests where the moonlight could barely reach. • The Rejected Queen Luna's Revenge   Stabbed in Red

    - Beta Adrie’s POV -He blocked my punch and threw an uppercut but I jumped back to avoid it, or else I would have already lost this fight. He didn’t stop, his attacks kept coming fast and strong. I stayed on guard, focused only on defense. He was aggressive and it was clear he wanted to end this battle right now. His punches were sharp and heavy. He wasn’t just some ordinary guard; I could imagine him training non-stop to reach this kind of strength. From the first blow I took from him, I already knew I could never match him. The blood of Rigador flows in his veins, and that alone explains his power. There was a myth that when their eyes shift into red, their strength doubles. Maybe it’s not a myth after all. Now, I am seeing it for myself. He was serious. His face was blank, no emotions at all. I could tell his only thought was to kill me.Only one of us will walk away after this. It might be him or it might be me. But I will never let myself lose.I leapt high and kicked with all m

  • The Rejected Queen Luna's Revenge   The Wedding Preparation

    - Princess Helena’s POV -The preparations for our wedding had begun, and in two days one of the most remarkable events in the Rigorou Mountain Pack would take place—an event that would be witnessed in history. Everyone seemed excited for the wedding because our pack would become more powerful by taking a royal princess like me. Besides that, we would become well known and prominent among the packs in our region.I am not concluding this just because of rumors and gossip; I am one of the best eavesdroppers. Sometimes I try not to laugh, and sometimes I feel so disgusted to be part of this pack. Thinking of becoming their Luna? Fuck, so disgusting. These people would never be my people. Good thing I have a kingdom; this is just a pack. Probably this is only my father’s people because he rules over every werewolf. I do not want to do anything here.I should also mention how happy Froylan’s father was. He almost jumped for joy when we announced that we were going to marry. The greed was

  • The Rejected Queen Luna's Revenge   Love of Your Life

I have all the authority over my own actions.I found him in front of my door on my way back to my room. It was already morning. I had spent the rest of the night yesterday in Froylan's bedroom. I was so tired that I fell asleep there.Neong stared at my finger where Froylan had put the diamond ring he gave me. He stared at it for a long time before looking back at me. His jaw was clenched, but he could not say a word.I walked past him to enter my room. I was too tired from last night's session that I immediately lay down on my bed. I just wanted to sleep all day. Froylan seemed to be an addict, a sex god.'And you liked it,' Britain interrupted my thoughts.'Tch, it was the bond that drove me to him,' I said to her.'Yeah, yeah, and now you’re talking about the mate bo

Oh goodness, he is so easy to fool at the same time I am happy in a way that I couldn't define. I shook the feelings away, the most important thing right now is that I am on the peak of revenge, my mission is absolutely getting complete just a little more and it will be. My eyes was dark from all the bad thoughts in my head so when Alpha Froylan looked at me, I took the chance to hold his cheek and kiss his lips. Maybe, it was just my wolf instinct that took over. Oh well, gotta need to have a day off and be merry today. He responded to my kisses and kissed me even more torrid. His lips were so soft and gentle despite of him ravishing my mouth. I couldn't help but respond the same way.I snake my arms around his neck and led my tongue inside his mouth, he groaned from the pleasure.I heard him cursed between our lips. He was trying to control himself
