CHAPTER 99: HONESTLY

CHARLOTTE'S POV

Two weeks later and nothing happened.

No dramatic exposure, no viral post, no whisper campaign exploding in my face at school.

Just silence.

The kind of silence that doesn’t feel peaceful at first. It feels suspicious, like the world is waiting for the right moment to embarrass you publicly.

Every morning, I checked anyway. I didn’t even mean to anymore, it was just muscle memory and reflex action. Open phone, open gossip page, scroll.

Nothing.

CHAPTER 99: HONESTLY CHARLOTTE'S POV Two weeks later and nothing happened. No dramatic exposure, no viral post, no whisper campaign exploding in my face at school.Just silence. The kind of silence that doesn’t feel peaceful at first. It feels suspicious, like the world is waiting for the right moment to embarrass you publicly.Every morning, I checked anyway. I didn’t even mean to anymore, it was just muscle memory and reflex action. Open phone, open gossip page, scroll.Nothing.Same recycled posts, same irrelevant drama, same people arguing about things that had nothing to do with me.And somehow, I was still just Charlotte. Not Charlotte with the diary situation or Charlotte with big ugly secrets. Just me.Turns out Sophie wasn't lying after all and she didn't read my diary.Whew!I rolled out of bed that morning with a weird heaviness in my chest that I couldn’t fully explain. Not sadness exactly or anxiety either. Just tiredness from having to wake up and interact with people

  • The Rules Of Kissing Girls    CHAPTER 98: AH FUCK

CHAPTER 98: AH FUCK CHARLOTTE’S POV I knew it, I fucking knew it. But how?Did she steal it on purpose? Did she go through my things like it was nothing? Or worse, did she already know I was looking for my diary and planned all of this? No. That didn’t make sense.Because there was no universe where Sophie just magically guessed I’d misplaced my diary and decided to return it out of kindness. That wasn’t her style. Not anymore. Not after licking Max's tongue. She had my book.My stomach twisted so hard it almost hurt to breathe.I sat on my bed staring at my phone like it was about to give me instructions on how to survive my own life.Sophie was typing then stopping, then typing again. Those three dots kept appearing like she was pacing inside my head.I should’ve just ignored her. Easy, simple and safe. But my fingers didn’t agree.Sophie: please respond, I know you're angryI stared at it.My first instinct was immediate: no block her, delete, pretend I never saw it and travel

  • The Rules Of Kissing Girls    CHAPTER 97 : WRONG TIMING

CHAPTER 97 : WRONG TIMINGCHARLOTTE’S POV There are moments where your life doesn’t just feel bad.It feels staged, like someone somewhere is sitting with a remote control laughing while pressing pause, rewind, and let’s ruin her emotional stability again in random order. That’s exactly how my morning started, after several days of mourning my diary.I woke up already tired, which should honestly be illegal. My phone was face down on my bedside table like it was ashamed of something. I already knew there would be messages. There’s always messages.I flipped it over anyway.Three notifications.Sophie: Hey are you home?Sophie: Can we talk please? And one from Instagram suggesting and yes I ignored it My brain wasn't just connecting, why was Sophie trying to talk to me isn't the damage she has caused, not enough.I stared at the last message again. Can we talk please? That sentence didn’t even feel real. It felt like a glitch in my life. Like someone typed it wrong and the universe

  • The Rules Of Kissing Girls    CHAPTER 96: MY DIARY?

CHAPTER 96: MY DIARY?CHARLOTTE'S POV By the time I got home, I was convinced the universe was personally writing fanfiction about ruining my life.I dumped my bag on my bed, kicked off my shoes, and flopped backward like my mattress was supposed to magically absorb all my problems. It didn’t.My brain was too loud.Everyone was posting about me and Max again, people were whispering in the hallways and my group project turned into an emotional WWE match. Not to mention that I can't find my diary in my bag, how perfect. Thank you mother nature for all you do. I rubbed my face aggressively.Ugh, why was everything so complicated? What if it was somewhere in my room and maybe I didn't take it to school, I reached for my pillow and I couldn't feel anything.I tore my pillow off the bed.Not there.I threw the blanket. Not there.I crouched beside the bed and checked the floor.Nothing but dust bunnies and the sweatshirt Maya kept stealing and returning like it was a custody battle.Panic

  • The Rules Of Kissing Girls    CHAPTER 95 : SURPRISE BITCH

CHAPTER 95 : SURPRISE BITCH SOPHIE’S POV Today was a shitty day like, impressively shitty.Award winning levels of shitty.I somehow managed to ruin my life, Charlotte’s life, and Max’s life all in the span of one biology class.Talented queen?Or just cursed?Honestly, I was starting to suspect the second one.I pushed the front door open and didn’t even bother taking my shoes off before heading straight to the kitchen. I needed sugar or sedation or both. The fridge light flicked on, blinding me like it was judging my existence. But there they were two chilled bottles of sugar iced tea.A blessing.A tiny, cold blessing.I grabbed one, hopped up on the marble counter, and took a long, dramatic sip.“Everybody hates me,” I muttered. “Everybody hates me.”The iced tea did nothing to fix my mood, but at least it distracted me from replaying Charlotte’s face when I tried to apologize and Max and the entire class staring and nope. Not going there.“At least I’ll be leaving Bridge Hall

CHAPTER 94 : WRONG PARTNERCHARLOTTE’S POV By Monday morning, the entire school had officially turned my life into a trending topic.Again.I didn’t even need to open my phone to know. You could feel it in the air that weird buzzing energy people get when they’re all pretending not to stare at the same thing.Whispers followed me down the hallway. Not subtle ones either.“Is that her?”“That’s Max’s girlfriend, right?”“I heard they broke up like three times already.”“She’s the one from the Sophie thing.”I tightened my grip on my bag and kept walking like I couldn’t hear anything.Maya leaned into me. “You good?”“I’m fine.”“You said that yesterday and then almost fought a vending machine.”“That vending machine started it.”She snorted. “Sure.”We turned the corner toward class and that’s when I saw it.The social media page.Someone had projected it onto the hallway screen again .@BridgehallGossip: BREAKING NEWS Max & Charlotte not as perfect as they look? “multiple sightings
