Prologue

Lucas stood at the altar as he waited for his bride, Shazna. He was wearing a white tuxedo and a big dorky eyeglasses. The thump in his chest grew stronger with each passing second.

Just a moment later, a white car stopped in front of the church. He took a deep breath and stood straight up with a wide smile on his face. Everyone got into their positions and the whole church went quiet as the music started to play.

The wooden church door opened and Lucas almost teared up when he saw his bride. There she was, standing right in front of the door. He felt like he was the luckiest man in the whole world today. At last, they're going to get married.

Shazna took a deep breath and started walking slowly. Lucas never took his eyes off her while having that proud smile on his face.

"We've made it," naibulong pa ng lalaki sa sarili.

Shazna was the most beautiful bride he had ever seen in his whole life. She was wearing a simple fit and flare white wedding dress that hugs her body through the chest and waist. For him, it felt like everything around them disappeared and it was only the two of them.

Then, he noticed something. There was something about her eyes; it was dark and alluring. Beautiful yet it looked like there were so many secrets behind them.

A faint smile appeared on Shazna's face and tears raced down her cheeks as she stopped in the middle of the aisle. Kasabay ng paglaho ng ngiti sa mga labi ni Lucas ang pagbagsak ng bridal bouquet sa pulang carpet.

Sandaling natigilan ang mga tao sa loob ng simbahan, at pagkatapos ay napuno ng bulong-bulungan ang buong paligid.

"Shazna," he managed to say her name with the immense pain in his voice.

Shazna shook her head as she slowly stepped back.

"Mahal, please, no... " bulong ni Lucas habang umiiling, ngunit tuluyan siyang tinalikuran ng babae at iniwan sa harap ng altar.

"Shazna!" sigaw niya sa pangalan ng babae, ngunit hindi na nito nagawang lumingon.

Wala siyang ibang nagawa kundi pagmasdan ang babaeng tumatakbo palayo hanggang sa mawala ito sa kaniyang paningin.

And that was the last time he saw her.
