ARYA

“You forgot your own place, Alpha Daxton. You forget that I am royalty. I can easily take everything from you," the king said, his gaze flickering over to me.

"I will only say this once. You do not want to make me your enemy. No matter how small or great, what belongs to me is mine," Alpha Daxton said, and a smile tugged at the king's lips.

"In that case, we must allow the little lady to make her decision."

Me? Little lady?

Holding back a scoff, I stepped away from my master. Even if I had the chance to choose the king, he couldn't help me. Not when there were things I needed to accomplish.

Lowering my head, I kept my gaze on the floor.

"Thank you for your generosity, your majesty. But I'll rather stick with my master. He treats me well," I uttered.

When I straightened, his gaze had hardened. Without another word, he stormed away.

Alpha Daxton turned to look at me with a fond look in his eyes that made my discomfort levels shoot through the roof.

He brought a hand to my hair and

  • The Tribrid Alpha’s Nemesis    50: GRIEF AND RAGE

DAXTON I watched the blood drain from her face. Her lips parted, but no sound came out. He stepped out of the shadows like a ghost. He was lean and tall, with hair streaked with silver and piercing grey eyes. “Papa?” Arya whispered. Gods. No. I shot to my feet, ignoring the sting of the open wounds across my chest, and staggered forward. “Don't go near her,” I growled, blood dripping from my fingertips. The rage I'd kept caged inside of me snapped, flooding through my veins like wildfire. He stepped out of the shadows slowly, a blank look on his face. “What is this?” Arya's voice cracked, shaking as she looked between us. “Mum told me you were dead—” “I had to disappear,” he simply said calmly. “To protect you.” Liar. “You don't get to stand there and pretend that this is some kind of noble homecoming,” I spat. “You abandoned her.” “I did what I had to,” he replied, shifting his gaze to me. “And clearly, so did you. I see you've chosen to poison her with half-truths.” My

  • The Tribrid Alpha’s Nemesis    49: HE’S LYING

ARYA He was barely holding himself together. I could see it in the way he blinked back tears, his lips twitching. He was confused, unable to process what was happening. But he couldn't be more confused than I was. I'd been so convinced that we were doomed to hate each other, and now that I felt a different emotion towards him, one that wasn't 'hate'? I didn't know what to do with myself. Wasn't the curse supposed to make me hate him? So, why? Why did it feel as though my chest was about to burst open under the weight of the emotions flooding my insides? "I... I don't know how to," he croaked, and I took hold of his hand, entwining his fingers with mine. "Baby steps, Daxton. I just want you to try," I said, and he swallowed. "I...uh..." He let out a weak laugh, rubbing his forehead with his free hand. "I'm scared, Arya." Heart pounding, I pulled him into my embrace, rubbing his back. He relaxed in my arms and wrapped his arms around me. All of a sudden, he stiffened. I pulled aw

  • The Tribrid Alpha’s Nemesis    48: SHOW IT ALL TO ME

ARYA She didn't look remorseful. No, the bitch looked like she was enjoying herself. I could smell blood on her, and her face was pale. Even so, she had a shit-eating grin on her face. And it infuriated me to no end. I should've known that Elena was the culprit, but she'd seemed too innocent and too fragile. I moved to attack her, but Daxton effortlessly held me back with one hand. I glared at him, anger boiling inside of me. "Let me kill her," I spat, and he shook his head. "Trust me, I want to kill her too. But we need to get answers from her," he said, and Elena scoffed. "Don't bother. In twelve hours, I will be dead," she said, and I growled, a bitter burn corroding my insides. "You poisoned Maya too, didn't you?" I demanded, and she shrugged. "I was only following orders," she drawled, and I lashed out, my claws grazing her face. Her grin widened as blood trickled down the claw mark I'd left on her skin. "Arya, stand down." Daxton's voice was colder than before. I faltere

  • The Tribrid Alpha’s Nemesis    47: A BAR OF CHOCOLATE

DAXTON There was fire in her lilac eyes. The kind I'd come to adore. Gods, she was sexy when she was frustrated. It was clear that my attempts to push her away had failed terribly. And now, despite the hunger gnawing at my insides, I wanted to touch her. "I'm not leaving without you," she hissed, her fists clenched. I wanted to kiss her senseless. However, the burn beneath my skin intensified, a shiver running through me. I clenched my jaw, staggering backwards as the beast threatened to push to the surface. "Alpha," Soren said, hurrying to my side to steady me. "We need to move." "I'm aware," I muttered through gritted teeth. My vision pulsed black around the edges. It was getting worse. I looked up at the sound of approaching footsteps, recognizing the newcomer before he stepped into my line of vision. Mason. Maya was limp in his arms, her head resting against his chest. "Maya!" Arya exclaimed, and he flashed her a tight smile. "She's fine. She's just...asleep." Arya rele

  • The Tribrid Alpha’s Nemesis    46: AT THE KNIFE’S EDGE

ARYA Was this a joke? What sort of stunt was Alpha Daxton pulling? His bride? Heck, I didn't know that I was his bride before now. Anger blazed inside of me, and just as I was about to yank my hand out of his grip, a knife came hurtling towards us, the warm light from the chandelier glinting off its edge. I froze. Time seemed to slow down. At first, I thought it was headed for Daxton. Of course, it was. Who didn't want him dead? It wasn't even surprising anymore. The great Alpha Daxton had to be universally hated. A part of me almost smirked. Let him handle his own mess for once. Maybe fate was finally cashing in its dues. But then… The angle shifted, and I realized with a jolt that it wasn't aimed at him. It was aimed at me. Me. Confusion slammed into me, and I stood there, disoriented. I didn't have enemies…none that would dare throw a knife at me in a room full of witnesses, anyway. I wasn't the threat. I wasn't important enough to be. And yet, there it was, spinning thro

  • The Tribrid Alpha’s Nemesis    45: ROYALLY SCREWED

ARYA I was screwed. Not just because Daxton had just slid down my panties with his teeth, but because I knew what was coming. And I couldn't stop it. Worse, I didn't want to. The second his mouth touched my clit, my entire body jerked, a gasp slipping from my lips. Heat rushed to my cheeks, my chest, and my core. His tongue flicked slowly at first, as though he'd chosen to savour every second. My wrists remained pinned above my head, my body utterly still under the weight of his compulsion. I couldn't move. I couldn't run. I could only feel. And gods, I felt everything. He groaned low in his throat, the vibrations sending a jolt straight through me. His fingers slid between my folds, which were slick with arousal. When one of those long fingers entered me, my toes curled and I let out a broken whimper. Another finger followed, pumping with unrelenting precision while his mouth worked in sync with every stroke. My thighs trembled, and my breaths came in short, frantic bursts. His t
