Ye Shaotang sneered, “Look at you, you can’t control yourself when I said this is about Xu Yi. Hao Shihua, your feelings toward Xu Yi runs so deep. But too bad, Xu Yi does not like you that much.”

Hao Shihua’s voice sounded disappointed. “Alright, Ye Shaotang, don’t show off in front of me. I didn’t get the woman I want, but at least I still have a chance. What about you? Your beloved An Xin is dead. You will never have the chance to be with An Xin. So, don’t you laugh at me. This is just like the pot calling the kettle black.”

Beep beep beep…

Hao Shihua laughed bitterly at the busy tone. Looks like the arrogant and cold Ye Shaohua has a weakness after all.

Even though he did not know why Ye Shaotang had married Xu Yi when he clearly was in love with An Xin, but An Xin was now dead. There was no point looking into this any further.

Hao Shihua could only hope Ye Shaotang would treat Xu Yi better for An Xin’s sake.

Ye Shaotang answered the phone when Hao Shihua called the second time. “There’s something wrong with Xu Yi these two days.”

Initially, Hao Shihua wanted to mock Ye Shaohua some more, but after hearing what Ye Shaotang said, he forgot what he wanted to say. He became concerned with Xu Yi. “What’s wrong? Tell me properly.”

After Hao Shihua finished listening to Ye Shaotang’s explanation, he said in a deep voice, “You only got to know them after, you wouldn’t know that they’re closer than actual siblings. An Xin’s death affected Lil Yi a lot. Perhaps Lil Yi did not want An Xin to die like this so she decided to live for her. In medical terms, this is called delusional disorder. If it does not create much trouble in your life, I suggest you just let it be and not do anything about it.”

Ye Shaotang knitted his eyebrows together and said, "Let it be? You mean I should accept the fact that I'll be seeing An Xin in Xu Yi?

Hao Shihua said in a deep voice, “The human body is very complicated. There’s a lot of things that science cannot explain. I can’t explain everything to you now. But, isn’t this good for you? You like An Xin anyway. Now that Lil Yi has become An Xin, you can be with the woman you love and also maintain your identity as the perfect husband. Kill two birds with one stone.”

“Hao Shihua!”

Ye Shaotang growled. “I’m being serious. Why are you saying all this nonsense with me? I want to ask you if there's a solution to this."

Hao Shihua said helplessly, “Actually, I found out something also these two days, but…I don’t have a solution. I am more concerned with Lil Yi’s safety than anyone. Don’t worry, I will read up on this and discuss with my fellow colleagues and update you about it.”

Ye Shaotang nodded and said, “I’ll let you handle this matter.”

Hearing Ye Shaotang being this courteous with him, Hao Shihua was startled. But after a while, he came back to his senses and told Ye Shaotang, “Right, I called because I need to talk to Lil Yi. Hand the phone over to her, I need to tell her something.”

Ye Shaotang nodded his head absent-mindedly, but he hung up the phone and said to himself, “Do you think I am stupid to watch my woman flirt with another man? Even though this is not the woman I like, but nominally, she’s still my wife. Hao Shihua, do you think everyone’s as dumb as you?

After Ye Shaotang said that, he looked at the mess that Xu Yi had made in the kitchen. He felt extremely helpless.

He did have feelings for An Xin.

But…he wanted the original An Xin, not the An Xin with Xu Yi’s face.

Despite Xu Yi’s flawless imitation, Ye Shaotang still could not accept it.

Taking a deep breath, Ye Shaotang rolled up his sleeves.

After Xu Yi got upstairs, she buried herself in the blanket. She had survived by taking over Xu Yi’s body. If it was possible, she would rather die and give Xu Yi back her body.

But…

Xu Yi smiled bitterly. She lifted her head to look at the stars outside the window and mumbled, “I am here, where are you? Did you transform into a star in the sky? What can I do for you aside from protecting you from the bullies? Is this your wish for me to live your life to the fullest for you? I really hope that one day, someone will call my name in the crowd. And then when I turn around, your bright smile will be on a stranger’s face. If that happens, I guess it’s the best thing for both of us.”

Xu Yi knew she was being crazy. But after mumbling to herself for a while, she could hear her internal organs making a fuss.

Xu Yi did not know how to cook. At this moment, Xu Yi recalled what the previous Xu Yi had said, “You don’t want to learn how to cook. I want to see what will you guys eat after you get married and you still can’t cook.”

However, Xu Yi did not expect to smell the aroma of noodles when she went downstairs.

She hurried to the kitchen and saw Ye Shaotang donned in an apron cooking.

There were two bowls of tomato noodles on his side.

Xu Yi felt like her bad mood had healed. “Wow, Young Master Ye knows how to cook noodles.”

Ye Shaotang looked at Xu Yi seriously and said rudely, “If I don’t cook, we’ll all starve.”

The other party had already contributed his cooking skills, so Xu Yi naturally felt bad standing there. She grinned and walked forward, “Let me take them out.”

Smack!

A pair of chopsticks hit the back of Xu Yi’s hand. Xu Yi’s eyes immediately turned red and grumbled angrily, “What? Can’t someone who doesn’t know how to cook eat?”

Ye Shaotang scoffed. “What do you know? Do you want to eat without washing your hands? I still haven’t put the sunny side up egg inside.”

Xu Yi craned her neck and saw there were indeed two sunny side ups in the pan.

Xu Yi’s eyes grew big watching Ye Shaotang picking the eggs from the pan. Her eyes glimmered with worship and chuckled at Ye Shaotang. “I did not expect your culinary skills to be so good. Wow, so I can depend on you to buy groceries, wash the rice, and cook for everyone.”

At first, Ye Shaotang thought Xu Yi was joking, but when he saw her walking out of the kitchen after washing her hands and did not even bother to take the chopsticks, he knew that she was serious.

He wanted to just take his bowl out but then he thought that this would be inappropriate. After all, Xu Yi was a patient.
