Chapter 14 — The Alpha of the Alphas

The ceiling of the building at the top where Imogen was standing was weak and could collapse at any point in time. Its cracking sounds were disturbing.

It had everyone’s attention except for Imogen who was wondering why they were staring at her. She was too late to realise. The ceiling had already detached from its parts and now aiming towards Imogen.

She was stunned that she couldn’t move a muscle. She was standing there and staring at the ceiling falling. She closed her eyes hopelessly, expecting what was to come. The crowd was worried but no one could jump in and save her.

Abruptly, Imogen was drawn and twirled around forcefully by somebody, locking in his arms. At first, she thought she was gone but when it landed and made the loudest bang, she knew it wasn’t over for her. She opened her eyes to see Braylon breathing heavily.

She could feel his fear through his tight grip around her waist, he felt so warm and hopeful. Her heart moved for a moment when she locked eyes with him.
