Chapter 13 - Sarah
I woke up early, Sam was still asleep. I stayed in his arms, feeling the warmth of his body. I wasn’t in a hurry to get up, enjoying this time alone with Sam.
“Hey sweetheart”
I looked up to see Sam waking up, smiling. I reached for his mouth and kissed him.
“Hey honey, did you sleep well?” I asked him.
“I always sleep well with you by my side.”
We kissed for a few minutes and then got up. I had to prepare myself to go speak with his dad soon.
When we got downstairs, his mother had already served breakfast. We got to the table. Everyone was already sitting and only a few empty chairs were left. I ended up sitting next to Marissa and Keven.
When I sat down, she looked at me and said with irony.
“Well, I guess the marketing of the new game is going so great you don’t need to be working on it.”

The prophecy Chapter 14 - Sarah
A few minutes after, we were in the car. This time it was only Sam and I. Zach was staying to lead the investigation on the prophecy. We had a few hours’ drive to do before we would get near the shrine. Sam’s mom had made us lunches so we would have something to eat on our way. We spent our time singing to the songs on the radio and talking together. In what seemed like the blink of an eye, we arrived at a forest of old trees. We walked for a few minutes, down past the entrance to the temple. Then, in the distance, we saw a clearing. In this clearing was a small wooden cabin, all made of logs. We made our way to the cabin. Luckily, the door was unlocked. There was no one inside and it looked like no one had lived there for weeks, but it was in overall good shape. “I think it’s probably a cabin for the hunters, when it’s hunting season,” said Sam. It made sense, you hunt during the day, and then at nightfall you find the cabin and rest. We lit the oil lamps as this place had no electricity. We hadn’t eaten anything for supper, and I was getting hungry. We searched for food, but could only find canned food, vegetables. I woke up still holding Sarah in my arms. Everything I needed was right there. If only I could make this moment last forever. I was enjoying watching her sleep and breathing in her sweet smell of peach. I could never have enough of her. Sure enough, I could smell her pheromones, even as she slept. I was taken aback by this name. Eurynomos was an ancient demon creature that was said to feast on flesh and blood and to creep upon the earth killing whoever he seemed fit. He was defeated centuries ago by the moon goddess and was sealed in a sepulcher, never to return. “What?” I asked, “Why would anyone want to find his sepulcher?” My father raised his shoulders. “That, we still don’t know, but, while Zach was there, he came across Keven.” I didn’t really know what to think of that. We cuddled on the border of the water, watching the waterfall and kissing softly for a while. The sun was going down and we could already see the first stars coming out. The night sky was perfect, and the fireflies were flying in the low grass, creating a fairy-tale play of lights. Itwas Monday morning already. I felt like the sun rose too early, I could have stayed in bed for a few more hours. But after an extra-long weekend, I needed to get ready for work. I kissed Sam and hugged him tight, breathed his scent of a man that I love so much. I went to get dressed. It was supposed to be a beautiful sunny day today, so I decided to put on my lovely white summer dress with red flowers on it. I loved this dress so much! It was mostly white on top, with no sleeves. I took my phone out and tried to call Sarah but got no answer. Then I tried to concentrate and to her through her mind, but it didn’t work. That wasn’t normal, that wasn’t good.
