I stare down slowly, my heart slamming in my chest, and I see it, staring back at me. I... I'm holding his dick. Diane Hall is holding the dick of Conrad Beaumont for the second time, and I can feel the hardness right in my palm. That does the magic. The words and the realization hit me like a train, so hard that whatever demon possessed me disappears without a blink. A scream tears through my lips as I jump away from him, suddenly regaining myself. How... how did it happen? I was drinking with him, then... then I asked why he invited me over. His response wasn't what I wanted, and I foolishly continued drinking because I wanted to drown out everything. I wanted to... to... to... Oh God. I glance around the room swiftly, and the moment I see my purse, I shoot out my hand to grab it, but someone is faster. Conrad. He grabs the purse before I can, and I instantly wish the ground would just pull me in. My entire face is red with embarrassment. I can't believe I did this, not even in my wildest dreams. He holds the purse up, a smirk on his lips. The mischievous kind. Mean, even. "Don't you think you owe me an apology, Miss Hall?" He tilts his head as he asks. I mutter a curse under my breath, which I'm not even sure he hears, then bow my head, eyes closed tightly. "I'm sorry, sir. I'm really sorry, sir." I keep muttering the words like a mantra, like it'll revoke what I did. Christ. Alcohol is a bastard. "You almost took advantage of me in your drunken state," he continues. Okay... okay, what is this man saying? I don't even want to argue because he's kind of right, but he should have controlled himself. That freak. I don't want to look at him, so I keep my head bowed, repeating the words like I'm paid to. I almost kowtow for him, almost. He hisses. "...and I almost lost control over myself. Don't you think that's kind of... sexual damage?" Hello, sir? Sexual damage?!! I didn't fuck you, I only gripped your dick and... I wouldn't dare scream that in his face. I only curse under my breath, because that's the least I can do. I nod almost immediately. "That's why I've been apologizing and..." "No!!" He cuts in sharply, his voice authoritative. I swallow emptiness. "There are things sorry doesn't fix." I told myself I wouldn't look at him, but I do. My gaze shoots up to him, eyes wide like they've seen a ghost with ten heads and horns. Things sorry don't fix? Did this man hit his head or something? If sorry isn't going to fix the mistake I made, then what will? It's not like I crushed his balls or something, did I? I finally open my mouth. "Then what will?" I ask softly, my heart pounding. He shouldn't say something crazy!! Yeah, I made a mistake, but he shouldn't say what my head can't comprehend. He shouldn't say what will make me go mad. He crosses his arms. "Simple!" He shrugs. That word! There's nothing simple about Conrad Beaumont. "Okay..." I twitch my lips. "Just some work here and there." He replies. For a moment, I just stand there, staring at him, trying to process what he means by some work here and there, until it finally clicks. "Ahh..." I snap my fingers, and he mimics me by mouthing an "ahh" too, with a snap of his fingers. "I'll do that, I promise." I assure him. He gives me a short smile, one that doesn't reach the corners of his eyes, then throws the purse to me. I catch it in one go. I don't give him another moment to talk. I bolt out of the house. Outside, the cold wind brushes against my skin, and I take a moment to stare at the building, exhaling in relief before pressing my fingers to my forehead. Headache. Why now? Luckily, I get a taxi faster than I thought, but the moment I make an attempt to get in, I suddenly feel eyes on me, like hideous shadows are threatening to catch up with me and pull me into doom. My protective instincts kick in as I glance around the area, but I meet nothing. Just the night bokeh of the street, almost empty, with a few cabs and taxis here and there. I sigh and finally get in, but the feeling persists, like someone is watching me from the shadows. This time... I'm not being paranoid. Someone is really onto me.Diane's POVIs it only me, or is Conrad's scandal fading already? With the scandal handled by his PR team, none of the trouble falls on him, and it's been fading away as quickly as it spread. Conrad would love it. It's all he ever wanted. The scandal fading away means an end is coming to our contract sooner than I expected. I haven't gotten attached to him, only to all the things he has to offer me in return for accepting to do this with him."Are you even with me?" Conrad's voice echoes."Yes. Yes, I'm with you." I reply, batting my eyelashes. I didn't mean to be carried away with my thoughts.I'm worried for myself. The contract ending means I'll go back to being a stripper in one of the most patronized clubs in the city. That isn't me saying I'm not used to that life anymore.Conrad pays me so well, and I've gotten comfortable with being paid so well. To get the amount he pays me, I'd have to work in the club all nigh
Conrad's POVClubbing has become one of my least favorite things to do. It could be because I've been occupied with work lately; it can't be because I'm worried there might be a repeat of the last time. Here I am in front of a club, one of the private clubs in the city. I drove myself down here because it feels like I'm losing my spark, and the best way to reignite it seems to be clubbing.Everyone knows me to be the bubbly type and a nightlife lover, and I don't want that to change. I have a cap on my head, and since it's late in the night, no one should be able to recognize me."Time to unwind." I coo, and proceed to step inside.I left all my problems to Ward to handle, and it was the right decision. He has a team dedicated to solving all my problems, and it has been like that for the longest time. Whoever is stalking Diane will be caught soon. She got herself a new number, and it was my idea. I gave her strict instructions not to give anyone besides me her new contact, not her col
Diane's POVI step into the office breathing heavily. I'm two minutes late to work. I did all I could to avoid it, and that included running from the compound straight to the second floor in heels.Conrad won't go easy on me for being late. He doesn't care to know that I went to bed late, all because I was scared someone might break down my door and come for me after he left.I drop my laptop on my table and try to catch my breath. I don't look in a mirror, but I know my hair is a mess already. I ran without putting it into consideration."Mr. Conrad would like to see you." A colleague walks up to me and says. It's bad that I don't know her name, and it's like that with the rest of them too. Months in this office and I'm still a stranger.I smooth down my skirt, pat my hair twice, and give up on both. Then I pick up my phone from my bag. I already know the words Conrad will speak to me when I show up in front of him, which could be why I'm not fidgety. They won't be nice, I know. I tr
Diane's POV"Somehow, the footage we need to find out about the culprit is missing.""How is that possible?" I'm quick to ask."Whoever the culprit is, he's good at things like this."The CCTV footage would have helped us get to the bottom of the matter. I relied on it. The culprit decided to stay one step ahead of us, and that was wise of them."I have a feeling whoever is behind this is someone who knows you and me." I tell him."You might be right and you might be wrong."I heave a deep sigh that isn't of relief. Until we find out the identity of the culprit, my life is at risk. I can't say the same for Conrad because he has bodyguards looking after him.Ever since he dropped me off at work, I've been thinking about who could be behind this, but I haven't been able to figure it out. Perhaps Conrad is right, and this has to do with him and not me."Don't worry about anything. I have things under control." He interrupts the silence. He definitely says that so I can feel better."I ha
Diane's POVWhoever wants to make my life a living hell more than it already is, I have no idea. I can't stop thinking about who could be behind the anonymous messages, but I have no clue yet.I roll from one end of the bed to the other. I find it hard to fall asleep, and it could be because I know someone has been monitoring me closely, and the person sure doesn't have good plans for me."I have to make sure I lock the door." I mutter and get off the bed. Some minutes ago, I checked the door and found it properly locked, and I'm on my way to check it again. It's safe to say I'm scared of what might be coming. This might be a good time to have my friend come stay with me for a few days. Her company might make me feel safe. I get to the door and check again. It's properly locked. To get to work on time tomorrow, I must sleep early, but what do I do when sleep isn't forthcoming? Drinking to a stupor is definitely not an option. I don't want a hangover tomorrow.I look all around while r
Conrad's POV"You came at the right time." I say to Ward as he walks closely behind me."I do all the time. I have a feeling I'm about to save your ass again like I always do." He responds.I sit on the sofa in the living room. I had a long day at work and I know I ought to go straight to my room for a shower, but there's something important I want to share with Ward.He sits next to me, his eyes fixed on the television screen. My team and his are playing today, which must be the main reason he came, but I'm not in the mood for banter tonight."You kept me waiting at your door. I thought you'd close from work by 5pm. Did you go somewhere after work today?""Yes." I coo."I told you to give me one of your spare keys, but you refused. If you had, I wouldn't have had to wait at the door for hours." He mutters. He's my best friend, but I'm not willing to give him unrestricted access to my space for no personal reason. I take off my suit and take a deep breath. It feels like the right thin
