New Scents

We lay there panting. I’m not sure how to feel after having sex with Noah, but Star sure seems happy with her purring loudly in my head. “You needed that,” she says. “Yeah, but it also could complicate things. I don’t want to ruin the first place that may actually be a home for us,” I tell her. “Sex doesn’t complicate things Akira, people do.” She right. I just need to get out of my head before I overthink it all as per usual.

“You can sleep here tonight if you would like,” Noah says softly beside me, “or I could take you home, whatever you feel comfortable with.” I laugh a little and smile, “hmmm home. That has a nice ring to it.”

I don’t notice when I fall asleep but I wake up to sun light pouring through the window and an empty bed. I hear the water from the shower turn off and Noah walks into the room from a door to the left. An ensuite, nice. He’s in nothing but a towel around his waist and I feel a blush instantly rise to my face. He smirks at me as he towel dries his hair with another one. “Time to get up sleeping beauty,” he says. I groan, I had the best sleep I’ve ever had since I got here, well if I’m honest with myself, since I’ve been turned. “Wow, no nightmares to wake me up today, that’s a nice change,” I say as I get up and look around for my dress. Noah looks lost in thought for a moment but then says, “would you like something more comfortable to wear back to your cabin?” He starts rummaging through his drawers and hands me a big tshirt and sweatpants. “Actually yes, thank you,” I reply, I feel a little uncomfortable wearing his clothes but hopefully no one will see me in them anyways.

When we’re both done changing he takes me down to his kitchen. “How about that coffee before you start your training today?” He asks me. “Yeah. I seem to remember being promised some coffee last night,” I smile and his in return makes my heart skip a beat. Get a hold of yourself Akira. “It’s perfectly normal to be attracted to someone, especially an Alpha,” Star comments. I ignore her and greedily take a couple hot sips enjoying the taste immediately. “Wow this is really good coffee,” I say. “Thanks, I have some flown in from a place in Colombia,” Noah says proudly. I scoff, “Perks of being an Alpha I assume,” I say as he takes a sip. “I just know what I like,” he stares at me. I struggle to break eye contact, he’s so intoxicating. “I should probably get going, I don’t want to be late,” I say changing the subject to something else as quickly as I can, plus I know Jack is always on time. “You’re right, let’s go, I’ll drive you over there,” Noah insists.

When we reach the cabin Noah stops me before I get out of the car, “Akira, just so you know, with wolves, our sense of smell is heightened….” He says awkwardly, I laugh, “Yes Noah, I’ve gathered that much on my own,” I tell him. “Um, what I mean is, even if you take a shower my scent will still be… uh… attached to you..” Now he’s the one blushing. “Wait… are you saying that anyone who.. sniffs me today will know… will know that we… that we…” I point to both me and Noah, I couldn’t finish the sentence as the dread fills my entire body. He nods his head. “I cancelled your session with the teacher I had lined up for you but had books brought to your cabin this morning, I thought you could use the privacy.” I didn’t know if that was for me or for him but either way I was grateful, I didn’t want the whole pack knowing I just slept with the Alpha, my head starts spiralling as I think of all the things they might think of me and if I’m allowed to stay they might assume it’s only because I opened my legs. I cover my face. “This is embarrassing on so many levels,” I blurt out. “What about Jack?” I ask. “Jack is part of my inner circle, he knows how to keep his nose out of everyone’s personal business, especially my own,” he says, seemingly annoyed. “You probably insulted him by basically saying sleeping with him is embarrassing Akira,” Star warns me and I feel her eyes roll at my mistake. “I don’t regret what happened last night,” I blurt out not able to think before I speak, “I just don’t want everyone knowing about things like that… or for anyone to think I’m trying to sleep my way into a pack or whatever…” I was rambling again but he seemed to relax a bit after I explained myself. “I understand Akira,” then that perfect little smirk appears again, “and I don’t regret it either.”

I close the door and head straight to my shower in the cabin determined to scrub away as much as his scent as possible. I want to avoid the judgment on Jacks face if I can.
