Chapter 41

Jenna's POV

Chris promptly looked around, "S-sasha?"

I rejoiced in the sound of his panicky voice before scoffing, "What, did she run away, knowing that your lie is caught now?"

"S-sasha, w-where are you?" I saw her standing by the wall to make herself invisible as Pluto stood beside her like a mountain, blocking her path.

"Your Luna is there, Chris. In the shadows. She was trying to run away. But my soldier caught her. Bring her in the light, Pluto." I ordered. "And please be gentle. She's eight months along, after all."

Pluto dragged her by her arm, of course gently. He left her hand with a hateful growl. Sasha gulped hard.

"I... I was f-feeling dizzy, L-love." She lied as the weight of all the other Alphas and Lunas' objectionable gaze landed on her.

I chortled, "She wasn't feeling dizzy, mighty Alphas and respectful Lunas. She was only attempting to bolt because she knows she's going to be exposed."

Sasha hid behind Chris as he himself looked like he could use someone else's back to hide behind.

'J-jenna, please...' He whispered my name imploringly on the link. 'Not here. Not in front of everyone. I... I am an Alpha. I have a reputation. Think about the shame it would bring to me. Think about my people. T-they were your people once. M-many Alphas here are brute. They would come to attack my pack if they learned the truth. So please... I... I will beg on my knees if you want.'

I just forced my lips to flash a dark smile, 'It's too late to go on your knees, Chris. And how dare you talk about your reputation as an alpha! I was also a Luna. Did you care about that when you framed me?'

'I... I am s-sorry. I swear I'll do everything you say. Just don't tell them about me.'

Turning around I face my guests. The back of my eyes was burning. How could he even think he was in any position to beg me to spare him? He didn't spare me when I was in his spot six months ago. He made me question my own worth.

And today he has the audacity to beg.

'He's really a loser. I wonder why we ever loved him.'

I smiled at my wolf's words as I looked around at everyone, "Honorable Alphas and their Lunas, what you heard six months ago was a lie. Whatever you heard about me was carefully planned and executed."

"Jenna, please..." Chris grabbed my wrist as he whispered near my ear. "Don't do it. Please, please."

I didn't respond. I was waiting for him to leave it when, "You don't get to touch our queen. No one does!"

Pluto plunged him back by the back of his suit's collar. He jerked Chris back as he stood behind me, keeping his words.

Thanking him on the link, I face my guests again, "The truth is, this woman you see here, is my ex-husband's first love. When Chris realized she's single again, he decided to conspire against me to get rid of me, just so he could be with her."

The Alpha' eyes eclipsed in anger and disgust. Some questioned Chris in contempt while the others looked ready to attack him.

"That's not entirely why I was framed. There's another reason—"

"Jenna, don't!" Chris howled in warning this time.

"Mother fůcker, how dare you howl at my queen!" Pluto kicked his knee and Chris went on his knees on the floor.

Oakley joined him as they both held him there.

Everyone watched in stunned silence. No one dared to interrupt even if a beta and a soldier were taming an Alpha male. Why? Because they were the Alpha King's beta and soldier. Their power and authority was more than an Alpha's.

"That reason is my ex-husband's incompetence to give a child..." I told them everything about what went down the line a year and half ago between me and him.

How Chris' sperm count was low. How we couldn't make our own child. How he was angry about the fact that I wanted a child from someone else's sperm. How I attempted to convince him and succeeded. How I started getting pain like contraction of labor from my sixth month. How I discovered through Henry that he was cheating. How I was broken when I found out he ordered the doctors at the IVF center to inject me with a weak omega's sperm to punish me. How I wished to have him during my labor but he never came. How I almost died when he slept with his lover on that night I just delivered my baby. How he confessed to framing me so he could kick me out without rendering any damage or facing consequences himself.

"It disgusts me to think I loved this man once." My voice wavered. I was emotional and I noticed some of the Lunas were crying too. Some Alphas looked sympathetic and utterly at shame since another Alpha did it to me. "All I ever wanted was to be a mother. It wasn't my problem his sperm count was low. But he took that as a disrespect and plotted out a whole conspiracy against me."

I paused to sob. Just then I felt an arm around my waist. Jace was holding me. His chest pressed against my back. I turned around and wrapped my arms around his neck. I stood in his arms for a while until I composed.

"I might have done something good if the Moon Goddess intervened and failed his plan." I looked at Jace, my hands cupping his face. "What he assumed would be my biggest punishment turned into my greatest blessing— The baby ended up being the strongest wolf's heir."

I sneered as I turned to face Chris, "You wanted me to have a weak omega's child, didn't you? Look at me now. I'm the mother of this kingdom's heir. I gave birth to the future Alpha King. I am the Luna Queen now. What are you now, Chris? You're just an infertile loser."

"JENNA!" He hollered and rose.

Oakley and Pluto tried to hold him. Chris pushed them back and stormed towards me.

"Who are you calling an infertile, huh! Look at my wife there. She’s carrying my child… That's proof enough I’m not incompetent, got it! So what if I rejected you for her, it's true that I left you because you went against me. I was angry and hurt." he raised his hands. "Any other Alpha would have felt that way. You rebelled against me to want another man's child."

"And you promised to love him like our own."

"I couldn't, alright. How could I? I am an Alpha. I needed my own heir for my pack."

"There are some Alphas here who went for IVF. Do you think they are incompetent because they chose IVF." Chris looked away. "Doing IVF isn't a sin. It's a blessing for those couples who cannot have a natural pregnancy but still want a child. There could be a hundred reasons to do an IVF. But you only looked at the negative side, Chris."

"I don't care. I didn't like it, simple. I think it's shameful. I hated the fact that I would have to call someone else's child my own." He stubbornly announced.

A roar of disapproval rose in the crowd. I was about to speak when an Alpha came forward.

Chapter 58 Jace's POV We were silent for a long time. Neither of us spoke. Suddenly Jenna lifted her face and eyes me innocently."What?" I chuckled. She nodded in no, "You burned Liza alive."My face stilled. I pulled her closer and joined our foreheads, "I had to. She was the bane of our family."I kissed her."Also," I added. "She made me doubt my wife's intentions. I had to punish her."At that, she hugged me tighter and rested her face on my shoulder. She was sitting straddling my waist while I held her like my toddler baby.My back had healed. Hence, I was able to sit this way.The doctors had been worried because the wound wasn't healing in my state of unconsciousness. That's the reason why they refused to give any answer. But the second I woke up, the wound healed, and all the residue of wolfsbane and silver was eliminated by my immune system."What happened to Chris and that lady?" I suddenly asked as I remembered those two."Both dead. And that lady was Doctor Henry's daug

Chapter 57Jenna's POV 'Thanks, bro. Head towards the Rogues' territory with your team. I'll meet you there.''Roger that!''Okay.'We broke the link. I sucked a sharp breath as I focused on the road ahead. If I drive at high speed, I'll get there in twenty minutes.Jenna, hold on for a while, love. Your husband is coming to get you.(Twenty minutes later)"Jace, finally you're here." Oakley came running towards my car as I applied brakes."Did you find her location?" I was not even fully out of the car."Yes, and already stationed our soldiers around the area." Oakley said, sending a wave of relief through me."Thank, goddess.""Don't worry, Jace. The situation is already in our control." Oakley flashed a shark grin and my eyebrows cocked in confusion. "Chris's soldiers look novice. They are not attentive at all, let alone alert.""I think he brought untrained wolves here. And I must add that his Beta and Gamma are not here either."I acknowledged with a nod, "He's probably doing it

Chapter 56Jenna's POV Jace has never touched her before. He hadn't done it this time either. It's that bìtch who always found ways to go near him.'There's no point in giving yourself false hope, Jenna. Jace isn't the man we thought he was. Accept it.' Gianna said.A feeling of disappointment rose over me. No! My wolf is not right here. She's hurt from Jace's wolf's words, and rest is the impact of wolfsbane.Jace loves us.'You really think that? Then tell me, why didn't he come after us when we left?'he He might have a reason.'No,' Gianna grunted weakly. 'It's because he was bewitched by his mistress's beauty and he chose her instead.'That's not true. I was breathless in anger. Gianna's words struck a chord that it shouldn't have.'I'll prove it to you that Jace still only loves us.'Having that said, I lowered my guard. I had blocked out everyone and their feelings to avoid getting caught. However, as I lowered my guard, I could feel my family's emotions— Jace's first. He was

Chapter 55Jenna's POVI regained my senses at the feeling of stabbing spasms stretching throughout my body. My eyelids were heavy and so I couldn't drag them open. But my other senses were working well.I could hear and smell and feel my surroundings. The air was crackling with the chirping of thousands of crickets, meaning that I was most likely in a forest area; or where there were a lot of trees.I dragged in a deep breath to catch scents, and realized that wood was burning somewhere. Then I heard the noise of fire crackling. A bonfire. I subtly rubbed my hand on the ground and sensed the coarse texture. Soil. All the elements directed to one point, I was in a forest. My eyes felt better now. I was about to open them when, "Hadn't she woken up yet?" A familiar voice asked."No, Alpha Chris. After she turned into her human form while fainting, she's been just like that." Someone said,It wasn't Cleo's voice. Hmm. Perhaps Chris flew all the way to Silent Hills city with a small team

Chapter 54Jace's POV "Let this be a lesson to all those who think they can fool the Alpha King just because I trust them." I announced as I paced around with a flaming torch in my hand. Behind me a pyre was built in the middle of the city for people to watch. On it Liza was tied to a pole. She was drenched with petrol and shaking. Her eyes were red. She begged me to let her go, that she was honestly apologetic. That she acknowledged her blunder and would go away. "My trust has never been a weakness. My willingness to believe in those who stand beside me does not make me blind, nor does my kindness make me a fool. I give people my trust because I choose to see the good in them. Because I consider them my previous ones. But the moment that trust is betrayed, do not mistake my silence for ignorance. And don't ever think that you can outsmart me."I came to a halt. The flames were crackling beside my face. It was night now, the sky was dark with no stars. There were light poles around
