Ben woke up to the brightness of the sun, it hardly rained there and that was a major problem in the northern region of the country. The lands were arid and she wondered how their crops were able to germinate without enough rainfall to sustain it.It was Sunday already, a Sabbath day to keep holy. She jolted out of bed and quickly rushed into the bathroom, she took a quick bath and brushed her teeth. She ran back to the room after she was done, she took a quick glance at the wall clock and realized she was already late for mass. One thing she loathed so much was going late to church and she couldn't just stay back at home on Sundays. She did the needful and stepped out of her house, she board a cab and soon the cab arrived in front of the magnificent building, the car halted and she stepped out after paying the cabman. She walked into church and joined the other members that came late.It was already time for the second re
Her wish since she was very little, was to visit the warm spring in Ikogosi, Ekiti state. She's heard a lot about the recreational center and she had been looking forward to visit with her best friend someday. But there she was, standing and watching the water from where it originated with the one man she loved most on earth, it's been months and they've gone far in their relationship. She never thought he was serious, she never knew he'd take her seriously but he did. She loved him and she was sure he felt same way towards her, the way he looked at her showed his feelings, the things he did for her, the things he did to her, how he spoke about her to friends made her rest assured he was the right one."I wish Ben was here." Esther said linking her hand with David's. "We always planned to come here together." She told him letting out a smile."You can always call her to come over." He looked at her."From
It was weekend again, Ben hated weekend cos the days made her laze around the house, and she loved it in another way cos she had two days to rest before starting the new week's stress. She set out to get her toiletries, the blinding sun was out again. On the way, she met the housing agent that helped with the her apartment. Been a while they saw each other, she exchanged pleasantries with him and noticed there was a lady standing close to him."Hello." The lady greeted Ben, she smiled at her and waved her before proceeding to where she was heading to.The agent left with the lady afterwards. Ben got to the mini mart and went directly to where toiletries were packed, she picked a few things, paid the cashier and strolled back to her house thinking of the activities she'd engage in when she gets home. It's been a while she heard from Esther and her parents, she missed her mom so much and she wondered why she
"Have you eaten lunch yet?" He walked into her office and towards her desk, he stood straight in her front. When did he start caring about her? It was strange."No?" She looked up at him, he had a small smile on his face. "No." She answered."You weren't sure before?" He chuckled."I was sure just kinda strange you care about if I've eaten or not. Are you trying to make up for the kiss you stole?""Was that a stolen kiss?" He smiled staring intently at her. "And do you really want me to make up for it?" He asked, his eyes still fixated on her."Yes, it was cos I didn't give you the permission to go ahead and yes, I want you to make up for it." The way he stared at her made her face heat up and she didn't love the fact that she was blushing stupidly."How?" He asked, sitting down and crossing his long legs."How do you think?" She ret
She was still deep asleep when the constant banging at the door woke her up. She groaned when it didn't stop."Who the hell?" She yelled from the bedroom but got no reply, the gate post was far away from her bedroom. Then, her phone beeped. She managed to pick up and it was a call from the caretaker."Hello." She yawned as she spoke."Good morning madam, pls can you open the gate?" He asked politely. "The gate is locked, I can't come in." He told her and she quickly jumped out of bed wondering what was happening that made him called her so early in the morning. She said a short prayer and stepped out of the room, she went towards the gate hoping nothing serious was happening, she got to the gate and peeped through a small hole to be certain it was really the caretaker that called her. She opened the gate and greeted him."Morning sir." She greeted."Mornin
"Could you please show me around when you're done?" Annie requested, her face turning into an innocent smile."Sure." Ben returned the smile, she was sitted at the balcony of the house trying to comb and oil the tangled edges of her premium fiber wig."The wig is tangled right?" Annie asked, not knowing how else to start a conversation with her, Ben seemed older than her and she was somewhat shy when she was around Ben.Maybe because she was new to her, she didn't want to give Ben the wrong impression about her."Sure, it is." Ben dropped the comb when the wig looked a lot better than when she just brought it out of her room. "I think its fake." She told Annie, "Come sit." She cleared the things on the chair, placed them down and gave the seat to Annie."Thanks." She took the seat and sat down. "It looks better now." She picked the fringes and checked it out. "This looks cool, just t
"Ben." He called her name over the phone, even without checking the screen, she knew the voice. She could easily recognize the baritone voice that was meant for one person."Babe!" She squealed."I'm at your gate, come open the gate." He said."Sure." She ran towards the gate and opened without giving it a second thought, she sighted his car and giggled gaily.'When did they become that close?' She smiled again, he was already an important part of her life and she was really glad their paths ever crossed."He yo!" She waddled towards the car waving happily at him. "I never knew you could make it here all by self." She said."I'm not a dumb ass, I've been here before." He opened the door and came out of the car, she moved back to pave for way for him to stand. "Good afternoon by the way." He gave the bags he brought along to her."You brought ice creams?" S
Lots of friends can be made within a short period of time but only few ones lasts longer. The ones we've been friends with for longer would always be appreciated and cherished in our hearts.Breaking up and making up are the two things that made a relationship works out lasts longer, Ben missed Esther terribly, not talking to her best friend for more than a month took a toll on her. But they needed the space, they needed the break to make things right, they needed to stay away from each other for a while. To make them work out again.Been a month and two days, she decided to man up and dial her number. It rang, Ben wanted to end the call immediately she dialed the number but she changed her mouth."Hello."
