Strutting through the halls of the one of my many nightclubs, the nighclubs I named each after one of the seven deadly sins. The music pumping as it vibrates through my being. “Kodiak, what’s happening?” I clutch my stomach as my claws slip. I hear Calista shout in the background, no doubt getting Britney out of the office as the shift takes over.

“The barrier to the bond is breaking. He’s here, I smell him.” Shit! The barrier I put in place so I wouldn’t find my mate. I search for the intruder when Kodiak takes full control as I shift into my large black wolf with red eyes, like my father. Only difference is Kodiak has white tips on her ears and tail. “I never wanted a mate, so I blocked the bond.” He gasps as he let’s me go.

“Do it then. Reject me!” I gulp I go to speak when I can’t even utter the words. Tears leave my eyes. Oh shit, the things we have done and seen each other do. I turn and stagger towards my desk and grab a bottle of whiskey, taking the lid off and gulp it down.

“I’m sorry, Calista, you deserve better than me.” I turn to face him as I feel my power roll through me.

“I Gaia Williams, Goddess of Hell…” His lips on mine cut off the words as the bottle falls from my hand. As he picks me up and I wrap my legs around his waist.

“Don’t even think about it. I love you and have done for too long. I will not allow you to do this. You are my mate, whether or not you like it.”
