   The next week flew by, and though he met with his father, Kathleen had avoided going to the house. When he met with his mother to talk about things and how they were going, he explained that Kathleen was still getting used to the idea of the house and the friendship they had. It was sometimes overwhelming for her. Though he knew she was more scared of meeting his parents and having them think she was something she really wasn’t.Nathan knew that she had to take her time to find her feet in this new world he had brought her into. He was willing to give her all the time in the world. For a simple girl, as she called herself, she had made him a new shirt, and he thought the cut and style of it was the best he had ever had.He had thought of bring up the fact she could do so much more than just be a nurse if she wanted to be.   He went upstairs after he called a locksmith to check on her. She was still fast asleep. He looked at the time and knew it wasn’t like her to take a nap for this long during the day.   Three hours later, standing on the same beach, he knew that his parents had just under twenty-three years ago, the priest pronounced them husband and wife. He kissed her with more passion than even he thought was possible as one of the people there took a few pictures of the two. He and Kathleen signed all the papers, and then he knew they were official. They were married.Kathleen was now exactly what she always was in his mind. His wife. His partner. His other half.
