Elizabeth looked confused when she woke up in the hospital bed and found Asher staring down at her. There was a look of relief and worry on his face as he stared at her. She didn’t know why he was worried but having him there made her feel some kind of relief as well. Her hand wandered to her stomach and caressed it softly before looking back at Asher again. Her memories were a little faint. The last thing she remembered was getting back to the room after the meeting with the elders and next minutes, she was crashing to the floor breathless. If she was right there and now then it could only means, she wasn’t dead yet she noted with a relief sigh but her head was throbbing in pain as she struggled to focus on something other than Asher’s searching eyes. His presence by her side meant, he still had an atom of affection for her and wasn’t out plotting her demise. After all, she was carrying his child and she expected nothing less of him. They stayed in that uncomfortable silence for a wh

Asher hurried off to Eva's house not exactly sure what could be wrong. Though he felt it in his bones, he just couldn’t place his hand on what could have gone wrong. Has she ran away? He wondered with a little frown but decided against that very thought as he practically forced his feet to hurry along. It wasn’t long before he arrived at the doctor's place and found everything to be the same, the only thing amiss was the sight before him as he stood at a safe distance and overlooking the occupied balcony.Asher couldn’t understand why his wolf felt threatened but before his gaze was Elizabeth and Alex laughing about God knows what. There was really nothing odd other than they were seating way too close for comfort. He wasn’t exactly bothered until Alex reached out a hand and brush her hair behind her left ear. Something stroke the Alpha at that moment. It wasn’t jealousy, it was a moment of confusion for him. Asher didn’t Just know how to feel about that very gesture as he continued

As the weeks went by, one after the other, Elizabeth’s friends went into labor. Now, she had seen first hand how they went into labor and it was scary to think she would undergo the same pain as well. She didn’t know what to expect before but now she does. She wished with all her heart that when it came to her turn, it would be painless but then again, she can only truly wish. The first friend she had made, Alana fell into labor the previous day. It was a long one and Beth feared that her friend wouldn’t be able to pull through but she did and when she did, she brought along a beautiful baby girl. Her name was Sally and she asked if she could hold her and she said yes and so she did. Holding Sally in her arms was the most beautiful feeling she could have ever imagined of having. She was so fragile and precious and at that moment, she knew she and her unborn child must leave there alive and it doesn’t matter who she would have to put down but she will. She desperately wished she co

Pain. Lot of pain was the first thing that hit Elizabeth as soon as she went into labor. It was a deep searing pain that left her gasping for breath. The sensation she was feeling now was something she had never felt before. It just felt like her stomach was about to rupture, as she lay twisting on the floor in her room. No matter how much she tried to find a comfortable position on the floor, she could never adjust to the new feeling that always seemed to leave her breathless at every five minutes intervals. “Eva” Elizabeth cried into her hands. Elizabeth knew that labor would be very painful. She has seen other women go through it before but she didn’t expect it to hurt this much. Her whole body was cracking form every single joint, starting from her hip down to her legs. “Crap! Oh crap!” Elizabeth cried even more. Another minute past before the door burst open and Eva hurried inside with two more guards trailing her from behind. “Eva?” Beth called and Eva quickly knelt bes

“it’s a boy…oh my God, Asher. It’s a boy. You have a son” Eva cried even more as he took hold of the crying infant before wrapping him up in a towel before handing him to Asher. While Asher took hold of the baby, Elizabeth dozed off with exhaustion. Everything that took place right after that moment she gave birth, she had no idea as she was completely passed out.More minutes went by before Elizabeth fluttered her eyes open as she tried to get used to the bright light that filled the room. Even from where she lay, she realized she had been transferred to another room. A much bigger room than the one she had delivered in.Beth closed her eyes for another minute, just breathing in the warm, fresh air that cascaded around the open windows. She noticed her pain was gone and she could finally breathe again and then it hit her.Her child. She hasn’t seen her child yet.“My child” She croaked out loud as she struggled to get out of bed and go in search of him, thinking the very worst only t
