บททั้งหมดของ The Human Hunter and two mates : บทที่ 21 - บทที่ 30

The following morning, the sun was shining brightly over the forest as Marcus' pack members gathered around him. They were all agitated and growling, clearly upset about the events of the previous night. As the pack leader, Marcus knew it was his responsibility to address their concerns."What's going on?" he asked, his deep voice resonating through the clearing. One of his pack members stepped forward, his fur bristling with anger. "We heard you allowed a hunter and a vampire into our pack house last night. That's a clear violation of our rules, Marcus. What were you thinking?"Marcus raised his hand to calm his pack member down. "I know what you heard, but let me explain. The hunter, Edna, and the vampire, Derek, were in trouble. They had lost their families and were in danger. I couldn't just turn them away.""But they're our enemies," another pack member growled."Are they?" Marcus countered. "They're not the ones who killed our pack mates, are they? We need to think beyond our pr

A young lady named Emily had just finished her shift at the local diner and was making her way home through the woods. The sun had set, and the woods were now shrouded in darkness. Emily had taken this shortcut through the woods many times before, but tonight, something felt different. The woods were eerily silent, with no sound except the crunching of leaves under her feet. She felt like she was being watched, and the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end. Emily quickened her pace, but the feeling of dread continued to grow inside her.As she walked, she heard a faint whispering, like someone was talking to her, but she couldn't make out the words. She tried to ignore it, thinking it was just her imagination playing tricks on her, but the whispering grew louder and more insistent. Emily turned around, but no one was there. She tried to shake off the feeling of unease and continued walking, but now, she could hear footsteps behind her.Emily's heart began to race as she quickened

“That creature sure isn't a werewolf,” Edna said, breaking the silence.“You are a hunter?" Victoria asked, looking at me with hatred. “What is a hunter doing here with supernatural creatures like us?"“She is a friend, and she isn't our enemy, Vick. She came to help," Derek replied.“A hunter and vampire can never be friends. Do you know what your people did to our kind?" Victoria said, still looking at me with hate. “You killed my brother, the entire family. What if she is a spy pretending to be a friend and betrays you when she gets a chance?"“She was a spy, but she isn't anymore," Derek said, trying to calm her down.“Are you sure about that? I don't trust her one bit. If you give me the go-ahead, I will snap her neck right here, right now," Victoria threatened, still looking at me with anger.I looked at her with anger too. She was one of those vampires that I loved to kill, but now it was different, so I maintained my cool. “Look, I don't want trouble. I need their help, and th

I tried to compose myself and quickly came up with a response. "We were just discussing how to gather information about Blake's weaknesses and how we could use that to our advantage," I said, trying to sound convincing.Marcus didn't seem entirely convinced, but he didn't press the issue further. I let out a sigh of relief, grateful that I managed to avoid any awkward explanations. It was already bad enough that I had betrayed my own kind to work with Derek and his team. The last thing I needed was to be caught in a compromising situation with him.As I glanced at Derek, I could see the disappointment in his eyes. It was clear that he was hoping for something more between us, but I couldn't let that happen. The idea of being romantically involved with a vampire was out of the question, especially since I was a hunter. We were sworn enemies, and any kind of entanglement between us would be a betrayal of my people.I took a step back from Derek and tried to put some distance between us.

Gerald's eyes flickered, and I could see the hesitation in them. He knew that what I was saying was true, but he was also scared of what Blake would do if he found out that he had betrayed him in any way. "I don't know," Gerald said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I mean, I've worked with Blake for a long time. He trusts me. If he finds out that I'm helping you, he'll..." "He'll what?" Derek cut in, his voice firm and commanding. "Kill you? Do you think that's a risk you want to take? Do you think he's going to spare you once he's done with the hunters? He's going to come for you too, Gerald. You know that." Gerald's face paled, and I could see the fear in his eyes. He knew that Derek was right, but he was still hesitant. "We're not asking you to do anything that would put you in immediate danger," I said, my voice soothing. "Just give us information. Tell us what you know about Blake, and we'll take it from there." Gerald took another sip of his water, his eyes flickering arou
