Lillian's POVI froze when I heard Amari's question.I felt my hands getting cold and the pressure to answer her question suffocates me."Amari go to your room please," I said but she remained standing in front of me waiting for an answer."Amari please," I pleaded. Before she could even run to her room the guards that Alexander's mother brought pushed me aside and carried my Amari."No please don't!" I tried stopping them from taking Amari but they kicked me and pushed me on the floor.I turned my head at Mrs. Montgomery. "Please Ma'am don't take my daughter away," I pleaded but she flashed an evil smile."Your family took my son and it's only right to take your daughter. I don't care if she's Alexander's daughter or not, I will take Amari with me. She will be the payment for killing my son!"Tears cascaded from my eyes as I watched them take my daughter away. I ran after them and used all my strength to chase their car but I ended up falling on the road.I felt a sting on my elbow a

Lillian's POVI waited for his return.I watched as the clock hands moved and every second felt like an eternity.I can't do anything. All I did was wait and pray that once Marcus returned, he would be with Amari. When I heard the door swung open I immediately ran towards it and there I saw Marcus carrying Amari."Mommy," Tears fell from my eyes when I heard my daughter's voice calling me."Mommy," she said as she hugged me tightly.I caressed her back to calm her down. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry baby," I keep apologizing to my daughter.I failed to protect her from those people. I let them take her away from me.When her sobs subsided I broke off the hug and made her look at me.I wiped the tears from her eyes and removed the few strands of hair that covers her face."Mommy I'm scared," she said pouting her lips.I smiled at her and gently caressed her cheeks. "I'm sorry I failed to protect you. I'm sorry."I hugged her once again as I blamed myself for what happened to her.She ended u

Lillian's POVSilence enveloped us once again and I almost thanked all the saints that I knew when our daughter's voice interrupted the deafening silence."Mommy look at me," she said as she spun showing her pink dress.I smiled and wiped my hands as I walked towards her. bent down making our eyes level. I stared at her face and gently pinched her nose. "You look pretty my love," I said. She showed me her cute smile and then turned her head to her father. "Do I look pretty Daddy?" she cutely asked.Marcus chuckled and then walked towards us. He kneeled with one knee as he looked at Amari. "You're the prettiest Amari,"Amari giggled when she heard her father's compliment. "They said I look like Mommy, so Mommy is pretty too?"I felt embarrassed when I heard that question When I turned at Marcus and our eyes met I felt my cheeks flush. He stared at my face and there goes my heart again. It started beating in a crazy rhythm. When he smiled at me it made my heart beat even faster. I felt

Lillian's POVI waved my hands at Lucas and when his car disappeared from my sight I turned around."Shit." I flinched when I saw Marcus. His arms folded on his chest while looking at me as if I committed a crime or something. Is he mad at me for sending Lucas off?"Where's Amari?" I asked instead."Is he the reason why you didn't reply to my message?" he asked coldly."You texted me?" I have no idea. I left my phone in the room and I didn't get a chance to check it.Is that the reason why he rushed here? Because I didn't reply to his message. He didn't say anything but his piercing blue eyes made my body shiver in fear. He's mad I can see it.I bowed my head and started playing with my fingers. "I'm sorry," I apologized without looking at him.I can't look at him. He looks mad and anger in his eyes brings fear to my system. Angry people tend to be violent...I'll end up getting hurt."Sorry?" he sarcastically asked.I bit my lower lip to stop my tears from falling. I don't want to

Marcus's POVI saw how her gaze shifted to the ring on Alice's finger. She stared at it for quite some time and when she turned her head at me I saw pain cross her eyes but she hid it by smiling."Congratulations," she said.I felt my chest tightened while looking at her.She must have felt betrayed. After confessing what I truly felt about her last night here I am engaged to Alice.I don't know what's happening to me but I want to explain my side and tell her what happened last night.~Flashback~I drive at full speed filled with rage and pain. Why I am still stuck on her?I should hate her but the more I force myself to hate Lillian the more I am being drawn to her.For five years I tried convincing myself that Lillian didn't love me at all and I should forget her but those fucking five years vanished in thin air when I saw her again.I harshly wiped the tears that fell from my eyes before stepping out of my car.I walked towards my unit and the moment I opened the door I saw Alice
