"So what you are trying to tell me is that the magic worked and everything went according to plan," Payne said, taking a sip of his wine and popping one chunk of meat into his mouth. He was eating steak for dinner."Yes, it did; they will leave tomorrow morning with her. I managed to convince them that she is just a healer, just like you told me." The person at the other end of the phone answered."Good job, Stephen. I will transfer the cash to you when I am done eating for a job well done.""OK, when do I get to speak to the person in charge?"Payne rolled his eyes and answered, "You are speaking to him right now.""Come on, I mean, the so-called grand master, I need to be sure that I picked the right side and that nothing will backfire.""Nothing will backfire, Roderick told me that you were not so hard to convince, and besides, I heard that Reagan threw you out of the window, so you must hate him like I do, so do not act like you did not have it in mind to rebel against the Royals.

Kelly's hands roamed over his chest, feeling his muscles. He growled and pulled her up into his hands, still kissing her.Her hands went around his neck, and his hands started going to the back of her clothes. They did not seem to remember that they were devouring each other out in the open. I started coughing to alert them about it, but both of them did not seem to care; instead, they were still busy feeling each other.I nudged Reagan. "Say something," I whispered."What is there to say? Your friend just found his mate, and they are eating each other in the open. Damn, my brother still has moves," he said and turned away.I could not believe him."Kingsley, you are out in the field," King Victor growled from where he was, but it was still very loud. This was the first time I had seen him growl.Queen Elizabeth was standing beside me while her husband was discussing with Brian and Rosette, and they were standing a bit far from us.Kingsley must have heard his father and tried to dise

Reagan's povOnce I was out of the house, I regretted what I said to her, my brother has always been a sore subject for me, but that does not excuse the way I talked to her.Although I was tired of the way she took her friend's side in everything and made up my mind to tell her about it, I never wanted to shout at her or call her selfish. Whenever the topic was Kingsley, I tended to see red.I always told myself that I would forgive his betrayal, but I always acted otherwise when he was brought up.Speaking of that, why is he here and moving back into the house? I do not know what my father was playing at, but I did find it funny. Was he not supposed to come to the meeting next tomorrow? So why is he here earlier?, and why did Father want me to come home without stopping anywhere at all?Unless maybe he wants to prepare him for his new role, and now that his mate is here, it would be very easy. The last few days have been amazing, from Alix coming to find me

The rest of the dinner went on without almost any hitch, and the only one was when Kingsley and Reagan almost got into an argument. When we were nibbling on the chocolate cake that was served as a dessert, paired with sweet port wine, Victor and Reagan were whispering something while Kingsley was listening.Elizabeth asked Kingsley, "Have you told your mate that she will be shown to the court just like Alix, tomorrow? Then she will be assigned duties as one of us?"He shook his head. "I must have forgotten."Kelly's eyes widened. "Tomorrow? But isn't it too close? Can't we keep it till tomorrow?""There is a meeting tomorrow," I answered."No dear, Everyone must be shown to the court if you want people to regard you as one of us. If you are not shown to the court, then you will be the one to greet all the elders, and no one will respect what you say unless your mate is there. But as soon as you are shown to the court, your words carry weight, and you can issue commands. I have not se

Everyone else started raising their feet, and I was about to do so when Reagan pulled me back down."You are not among those that will stand up for them.""Oh," I said, and I sat back down.Kingsley led her to the center, then left her there and walked up to where we sat.She bowed for everyone, then faced the crowd so they could bow for her."Come closer, so I can take a good look at you," he said.Kelly walked closer to him. He stood up from his seat."What is your name, beautiful?" King Victor announced"Kelly Pitt, My King.""What a beautiful name! She is so beautiful, isn't she Elizabeth?""She is, just like Alix. All my daughters-in-law are beautiful."I was so surprised that she was complimenting me; it was so unlike Queen Elizabeth. King Victor was also surprised because I could see it on his face."What has gotten into her?" I whispered to Reagan."Shhh," Regan shushed me."Alix dear, Isn't the new addition to our family beautiful?"My mouth opened, but I quickly closed it. "
