LILY WINTERSONG POV- I hugged the pup tighter , as if it were my only salvation. The collision never happened. I felt something shielded us but not entirely because shades of glass carved into my arms, slicing deeper the more I struggled. I shrieked in pain. It was cutting deeper and the more I tried to move to avoid the glass it made it deeper into my muscles and was slowly threatening my bone to snap. The agonising pain made me believe this was the end yet a strange calm voice inside my head whispered - at least the pup was safe. The cover vanished and I was thrown against the concrete and that knocked my breath out of me, agony twisting my bones into grotesque shapes.
