“Relax, Nova,” Aiden’s voice came again—closer this time. I nearly short-circuited when I felt his head rest lightly in the crook of my neck. His body heat was very, very noticeable, and my entire nervous system decided now was the perfect time to glitch. “I am relaxed,” I lied through my teeth, mentally screaming for divine intervention. “You don’t sound like it,” he murmured, and even though I couldn’t see his face, I could feel the smug smile growing there. “Just teach me already,” I muttered, desperate to speed this emotionally dangerous ‘lesson’ along before I imploded entirely. “Alright, alright,” he said with a soft chuckle—but didn’t move an inch. This boy was going to be the end of me. He guided my hand, placing my fingers into the bowling ball holes. “Three fingers here,” he said, voice low. “Then you crouch a little and just swing.” “That’s it?” I asked, glancing at him—and regretted it instantly.
