Alpha Nicholas Shafter's POV I couldn't stop thinking about Lady Noelle's unexpectedly sweet behavior. Could it be that she’s really changed like that? Her cheeks were even flushing red when we were at the table. Is this what it feels like to be treated with care by a wife? Is that why I'm feeling so elated? I pressed my palm against my chest to feel my heart and to calm the racing heartbeat. Then, I remembered my promise. I quickly straightened my back. "I will cook for her as promised. I was thinking she wasn't going to accept my offer," I muttered to myself, forcing myself to focus. I had two vials that were to be used in cooking, one was to kill the victim while the other was to bind them to me as servants for the rest of their lives. Now that Lady Noelle had agreed to eat my food, I would bind her to myself for the rest of her life. She loved me, she would definitely want that. I had already wiped her memories and that had no negative effects on her, so there was noth

Anna's POV I bundled the strange man after knocking him out, he didn't even resist when I was at it. I took him to my chamber at the Thornton's Fort discreetly. As I placed him on the ground, he was still unconscious, I paused and pulled out my sword. "Why don't I just kill you now? Why should I give you another chance to toy with my brain again?" I sat in front of him with my sword ready to strike him at any minute. I didn't want to take any chance with him. A lot of mental balance would be needed to use my spiritual strength but to use my physical strength, I didn't need much mental readiness. He asked weakly, "What did you do to me, Noelle?" I shook my head and smirked. "I'm not Anna anymore? Why do you seem so good at this?" I had to give it to him, his voice kept reaching a deeper part of mind. As if he had gained more energy afte

Anna's POV I looked around in surprise as the words echoed in my ears but everything became quiet like before. Still looking around, I asked Alpha Nicholas in whispers, "Did you hear that?" Alpha Nicholas smiled and asked, "A voice that you shouldn't touch the food?" He leaned closer to me with his gaze piercing. I nodded quickly. I was shocked but I couldn't say why. "Whose voice is it?" Alpha Nicholas waved casually and continued, "I will ask the questions now. Is it true that you feel like killing me at times?" The question was directed to me but the assassins felt more unsettled. I didn't want to lie despite knowing that the truth would hurt. "Honestly," I began. "I feel like I had once had the intention of killing you but right now I wouldn't wish that!" I stared straight into Alpha Nicholas' eyes expecting his eyes to redden. But he just smiled and turned to the assassins who also seemed happy by my words. "You hear that too. She wouldn't wish that now!" Alpha Nicholas r
