Eliana’s POV Despite the cold weather that morning, my palms were sweaty as the cab tore down the asphalt. When the cab finally rolled to a stop, minutes later, I alighted from it feeling even less confident than I did when I left the house. To everyone else, it was just a normal Monday morning, but for me, it was the day I was the day my suspension was over. The day I was returning to Emerald after Oliver’s persistent antagonism led to the absence of school in my life for a month. Left to me, I would have postponed my resumption for a few more days, but Annabelle and Derrick wouldn’t hear the last of it.
